  • Frank Sanchez may have been carrying a knee injury, but no one forced him into the ring to take on Agit Kabayel. Kabayel did what he had to do against the previously unbeaten Cuban, showing a multitude of skills - plus a great engine - to score a fantastic knock-out victory via some precise and thudding body-punching. With two wins against undefeated favourites on the bounce, the German is rapidly becoming the man no one will want to face.

Sanchez knee injury was in 1998 for chrissakes. If he hasn't fixed it in over 20 years it must not have been a real problem. Did he have a more recent knee injury?

Brilliant performance from Agit starting from the first round he targeted the body, took away Sanchez space and had him under a lot of pressure. Sanchez crumbled and started to show out, the leg had nothing to do with it.

I've never rated Sanchez, too passive and prone to switching off but I didn't expect a KO. wtf was Kabayel thinking doing nothing after the Chisora win. He could have been a top heavyweight.
EDIT: Two body KOs on the trot for Kabayel, he must have power and a great ring IQ.

Wonder what Sanchez game plan was, he needs to busier early , kabayel bad stye for him gave him no breathing room , body shots were brutal, Sanchez vs makmodov makes sense now

Kabayel looked very good again, it's a shame that every HW championship fight has to have a rematch nowadays, Agit should really be one of the HWs who inline for a title shot (like Parker and AJ).
How can an undisputed champ honour all his mandatories with all the rematch clauses?

I called this fight to a T. Sanchez has a sparring mentality. Looks for the perfect shots, but not the huge puncher people say he is, just very fast. He's quite negative generally and put on a lot of muscle. I thought he'd gas to kabayels bodywork. Just went a bit quicker than I expected. Hopefully my prediction for the main event is as accurate 😂

That's exactly what my father said about sanchez from his last fight he had put on more muscle. I've been a fan of kabayel for years he showed good ability vs chisora and has been 1 fight a year since. He's always training and in camps hss sparred the best. Maybe thats why it was hard too get a fights and also he wasn't that marketable or known until the saudi shows

Two very impressive wins for Kabayel mate 👍 I definitely agree Sanchez looked a lot bigger upper body wise than I’ve seen him before, you could see he was struggling and blowing a few rounds before the stoppage

I hate that extra muscle on heavyweights. Why do they do it?? Even a layman knows that bulk isn't suitable for stamina and gruelling fights.

@@joestunnerboxing totally agree mate he was absolutely huge and especially with the knee injury he was always going to be up against it.

Had Sanchez down as one of the most talented heavyweights in the division but maybe he should have canceled the fight due to injury. Knee, back or rib injuries are extremely difficult to overcome in any competition. However, Kabiyel didn't take any prisoners so he gets to move on.
