    In terms of the meta, infantry isn't all that good, I get that. At the same time, I find infantry to be a hell of a lot of fun regardless. I got into this game for the combined arms aspect, not world of tanks, even if tanks are meta.

      the current gameplay is lame, all armor everyone doing the same thing. Today, i wanted to take back a forest there were 2 enemy tanks inside and i pushed enemy tanks with 2 SMAW 1 combat engineer, because some guys told me "infantry is really good and balanced you just need to use it correctly" they just killed the infantry inside the forest and my infantry did only like %15 damage to them. Armored vehicles shouldnt be a match for infantry with AT weapons in cqb. Because infantry is a slow, short ranged unit; then they should be sturdy and effective in their range so there would be a meaning of using clumsy, slow ahh, 400 m range units. The engagements last only 20-30 seconds aswell at maximum. The rest is logistic, moving units around. I hope they fix this at full release and do not deliver us a top down World of Tanks game with cool explasions around.

      @@fenrur26 Honestly, Infantry can be good especially defending TOWS and Kornets are especially amazing at their roles but the problem is the APS and the way it works, where it just pretty much allows you to play more recklessly if you have it and it doesn't help that infantry standard Anti-tank weaponry doesn't do enough damage if I were to be honest even if you shoot them in the side or rear.

    I think with Broken Arrow we'll see more of a functional use of infantry compared to WGRD and Warno where infantry was used to fill gaps. The modern context means that infantry absolutely need support or they'll get shredded. Really enjoy that aspect

    Thanks for the video. I really wish you would do a 1 hour "ultimate guide for beginners" in broken arrow. Because you seems like you know what you are talking about and is full of knowledge but for a player like me who is a total noob and is NOT coming from a similar game like Warno I have a very hard time following what you are saying. In exemple, you are talking about seed missiles and other players were bringing only 1 at the time and they should have brought 2, as a noob im like Wtf is he talking about.
    Your commentary seems more oriented towards players who have like 50-100 hours in the game already or have a good background with games that are similar. The simple fact that you 2x your gameplay is making it super hard for a noob like me, who has 15-20 games played and want to get better, to follow what is happening in the background and analyse your plays.
    Yesterday, I watched a Broken arrow game played by the number 1 ranked Warno player and he was explaining every move and every buy he was doing and why he was doing it. I probably learned more from that video than in the last 10 games I played by myself.
    If you are willing to make a big guide for noobs like me, here is some stuff I think would be good to explain and maybe show in-game (im a visual learner):
    1. You where talking about seed missiles in you video and that you are protecting you patriot from them. What are those? How can and cannot do about them? What are the other kind of missiles? etc
    2. In what situation would you use an heli vs a bombing run with a jet.
    3. Recon unit: why, how, where, when. The full guide of how to use them and their real effectiveness for the price they cost.
    4. Jet bombing. The full combo on how to bomb run without losing your plane and how to counter it. Also when it should be used.
    5. Money management: should I wait to have 3-5 tanks before pushing or should I try to outmanouver with 1-2? What a good start buying is and what is not?
    6. Smoke: how and when to properly use them, tips etc
    7. Radar: what is the difference between on and off? When should it be on or off?
    8. The effect of unit placement. I.E. should I place my patriot system inside a forest or behind a building? Should I try to flank with tanks through a forest or a direct engagement is better?
    9. All your keybinds. The must have and the one that can be forgotten.
    10. Everything else a total noob to the game/style wouldn't know/understand right away.

    i do agree, in most scenarios a vehicle is a better alternative to the infantry, i find it super annoying to try and micro infantry to teh front line and resuplly etc while trying to fight a battle.
    The occasional times i find inantry useful is when i only have 1 T-15 or 1 armata and the infatry can assist in hitting the enemy tnaks/vehicles wiht that extra rocket to help win the fight.
    Then its like 200 pts for 2 kornet m, plus the cost of your transport if u need one, when i could wait naother 30 seconds and just spawn a t-15 for 250 pts instead and u have a much better option that can get to the front line faster, fall back and escape faster, better at hit and run, etc.
    i do think there would need to be a balance fond for infatry points as if to low and you can spawn many at a time, people will likely spam them a lot

    Tbh the fact you practically don't use infantry is a bad thing in terms of game design, everything should be viable in some way in the rock paper sicor dynamic. I love everything about the game but after having played for 30 hrs and having a little bit of hrs in wargame and steel divison games the problem starts to show. They really need to look at balancing and if thats not possible we have a problem

    1. On the subject of tanks: APS are pretty OP, allowing tanks to roll into infantry and even helicopters without a worry. Massed tanks with APS are difficult to stop, requiring a proper set-up. I think APS needs to be made more rare, or more expensive, or have its effects toned down. That, or have more infantry units and helicopters do double AT launches the way CAAT Dragons do. Staggered AT launches get through APS, and I think guys armed with LAWs, AT4s or RPGs, or tank busting choppers, should also do that. If not all of these units, at least some more of them.
    2. If you find it an issue to use aircraft-launched weapons at low altitude because terrain blocks your view, use pop-up attacks. Select your plane, fly in at low altitude, when you have the right distance to the target climb up and, once you have built enough altitude and have the right angle, tell it to go back down. This whole sequence means the plane approaches the area while staying safe from heavy SAMs, climbs to build up altitude and unmask the target, and then dives while aiming and firing its weapons. Note that you still need to choose the right approach to avoid light AA and tall terrain (like a high-rise building), and that the climb just before the attack will draw the attention of heavy AA. If you do this right, however, you are now able to use rockets and direct fire missiles with as much efficiency as anything else airborne, and there is nothing in this game more satisfying than executing this attack correctly. I love doing this with Harriers armed with Mavericks. Just the other day I scored an Abrams and a LAV-AD in one run, and got away with it too (I think combining a dive with Return to Base causes the turn to be a bit tighter, which helps get out from the opponent´s AA engagement envelope). Also, rockets do not require EXACT accuracy: I am pretty sure a diving plane can shoot rockets at two different targets with perfect accuracy as long as the plane is positioned correctly and the targets are relatively close together. As if the rocket pods could swing a little left or right to adjust their fire.

      @@krystofpalecek1702 If you are asking about the aircraft, I mainly play USMC, and my Harriers carry Maverick missiles and Zuni rockets. As long as the enemy is right in front of them, planes will open fire on their own, no real need to use the "Strafing Run" or "Fire at this piece of ground" commands. Same thing with their guns, too.
      I do wonder about using bombs, though. I have no idea whether planes will use laser-guided/dumb bombs just by pointing them at the enemy.

  • @TheVargas2127
    @TheVargas2127 5 месяцев назад

    Friend, it is not that infantry are useless or less efficient compared to vehicles, it is that you must always have numerical superiority in terms of the cost of the units. The infantry groups must be very large, you cannot send 2 mechanized groups against 2 marines, you will lose, nor 1 smaw against a tank, it must always be 2 to 3 smaws against 1 or 2 tanks, 2 or 3 mechanized against 1 or 2 marines, 2 anti-aircraft and 2 to 3 anti-tank missiles. The groups must be made up of 2 smaws, 2 at, 2 aa and 2 anti infantry, minimum, this way you cover all the areas of infantry deficiencies, and you will see that this costs less than 700 points, that is, 2 tanks. And the best of all is that they are immune to any long-distance missile and can be airborne to the enemy rear. The only drawback is that you must have anti-aircraft missiles ready to avoid bombings and artillery to counterattack to protect your infantry. If you master all of this, it is possible that 1000 supply points invested in infantry could be better than 3 tanks.

      heres a constructive opinion, maybe use a sniper team to probe enemy flank and locate enemy aa, proceed to attempt to laze AA using sniper team - call in an SU-57 with laser guided munitions and hit the target. You can then use the jet to hit their units pretty easily, if you can micro it right. (Select the plane, hit after burner, hit p (keybind for precession munitions), left click on target, shift + b to queue up an rtb order. make sure you hit V to lower altitude to help lessen AA hit chance while RTBing after striking)

      @bradleycavalier1311 Yeah I understand. I played alot of red dragon, still do from time to time. I mostly play warno now as my preferred rts, just giving BA a shot. It's enjoyable but not on the level of Eugen games, definitely not a warno killer, although there are things that are unique and fun about it. I understand it is in beta too, but even in full release I don't see it out shining eugen for me atleast. It's entertaining to just kinda roll these newer players lol, I do prefer a good competitive battle more though. BA does suffer from blob and zerg tactics moreso than Warno or RD unfortunately, however cluster and atgm goes boom. I also don't like how inf is practically useless, I still use them because it feels right to, but I can't deny that they're trash. Maybe execpt RU special forces and marines and even then.. ehh

I always try to preserve my units and it's so hard to keep my inf alive even on the defensive.

    • @09jadeen
      @09jadeen 9 месяцев назад

      @bradleycavalier1311 Yeah, I've had that problem a couple times of unit preservation for my inf. They're not very resilient which to a point is understandable, but even in their 'effective' range they're just so unreliable unless you have something like 4 squads on top of each other and even then they get tore up. I use them for defense and like a spiders web more than anything which isn't how I like to play with them, I usually smoke and push on RD or warno, but you just can't, they can't take the punishment even at point blank against medium armor. And yeah I played WIC wayy back, it's a classic rts gem. I don't know of an rts enjoyer who didn't like it. And yes atleast team chat is desperately needed, that would improve cohesion a ton.
