To have witnessed the qrowth of this sport ,the team and the struggles until finally get here as a fan of this team ,as a true football fan,Greg Vanney was the man who stood in front ,what a great personality so humble.Man took us to 2 championships me say he is an Exciting coach and him being a part of the all for one now as it stands,It was meant to be ,much appreciated GREG VANNEY,you were nothing less than a Champion!thanks a heap, congratulatios and all the best to a bright future
One thing that struck me is how emotional he got when discussing the fans and the atmosphere created in Toronto. Over the years, he’s proven me wrong. When he joined, I knew he understood the game, but he lacked the “empathy” and “connection” to be a good coach. Basically, I thought he was a robot. This was my failing, as over the years (and evident today) I’ve seen how he connects with players, fans, and even the media. I’ve called “Vanney Out” a few times over the years, i’ll admit - purely out of frustration, but in the end this guy has been pure class, and this city has been lucky to have him.
After years of revolving door managers, Greg Vanney transformed TFC tactically and mentality-wise from whipping-boys to an MLS Powerhouse. He didn't do it alone, but he played a big part in replacing the clouds over our Crest with a Star!
