You think it would but it would cause a problem with the system... If I was running early about 4 or 5 mins I would be instructed to hold back 3 or 4 mins at bus stop to correct my headway which doesn't sound like a lot but passengers will moan or ask if there is something wrong with the bus, If am running early then I am too close to the bus in front and left too big of gap for the bus behind... So if it's true that driver was running 20 mins early then the bus behind him is going to get the crowds..
Very good point I didn't realise there would be a problem like that and it was not the first time he had done that no wonder he was in danger of getting the sack
Yep and if you noticed during the documentary the drivers who constantly run early wasn't nicely looked upon, As you could imagined the driver behind him was getting a full bus for most his trip because the one in front wasn't allowing a suitable gap
The other problem is if you're supposed to arrive at say 3.00 and you arrive at 2.55 and then just leave, passengers that arrive at 3.00 are gonna ask why the Hell the bus didn't turn up! The simple solution is if you arrive at your stop early, wait until the right time before leaving!
That guy turns up at a GDE and can't be bothered wearing a tie. Hes obviously has a problem with is early running and he tries to get the inspector in to trouble by lying he deserves the Tom Tack
His still driving buses well around march 2016 lol I met him around that time, I did a few months driving for a East London Bus company as they won a route and needed drivers on the quick so I got a few months agency work out of it but he was there! I only recently come across this documentary and I couldn't believe it was him! He was nice bloke to talk too but he did have excuses if he was running late or early so he didn't change after this..
mistofoles Yep 100% serious, he did say had been driving buses for years but then he was driving coaches and tour buses as well but couldn't believe it when I found this documentary it was him and he had not changed at all, Still as scruffy and always had opinion on management.. I am not sure if still at the same company thought as at the time he was saying travelling from West London to East London for shifts was proving difficult as he wanted to do a N route only
Ibus won’t let you they are in the radio like a shot ,even if your 2 Mins up you get a call or txt message to pull back but 20 mins early blimey not now ,saw John last back in 98 he got on the 220 I was driving still half asleep working with metroline
Fair comment to that fat guy's boss...he DOES look a mess ! He's issued with a tie but doesn't wear it, his ID badge isn't on display, and his hair needs brushing. I always wear a tie when I'm working, although it isn't mandatory to do so.
@5:57 - LMAO at the old woman showing her bus pass to the camera :D :D
@6:47 - This guy really doesn't help himself...Look at the state of him compared to the guy who's representing him.
You have ibus now blimey ,we had a controller at S called pit ball if you was a minute early he would shout or get on the radio to you
Surely its better to run early or on time than late I wish my buses would run early

I read your earlier comments as well about working with that driver and he is just the same apparently! They say some people never learn

Wow....who tailored the guy @ 12:20? Frank Spencer??
Back when London use to have old buses
That guy turns up at a GDE and can't be bothered wearing a tie. Hes obviously has a problem with is early running and he tries to get the inspector in to trouble by lying he deserves the Tom Tack
So straight after this guy was put on a final warning, he went on sick for a month. Speaking as a union rep, he really doesn't help himself.

What, seriously? This guy is STILL driving buses 24 years later?? That is actually scary, he must surely be approaching retirement age !

If they're "running early" why wouldn't they just wait at the stop and leave at the right time? Bloody Hell it's not rocket science!
Clearly that guy is an idiot.
His running early on purpose.
Ibus won’t let you they are in the radio like a shot ,even if your 2

They fucked up their own jobs. No wonder the buses were privatised.
Ricky Boyd how do you conclude that?

The guy looks like that now! He hasn't changed
I wonder if he is still driving in 2024? Surely he must be on a pension by now?
20 mins early!!! unbelievable!
I met that driver in Feb 2016, After all these years he hadn't changed
