      Can you talk about greek life in general? Also the people at Syracuse and how you met people during freshman year?

      I love Syracuse but my parents want me to go to Boston University to be in the city for more internship opportunities. What do you think?

    • @PeytonBeck
      @PeytonBeck  5 лет назад +3

      @@reyasamuel2608 It kind of depends on what you're looking for. If you are looking for an internship close to your college than Boston might be ideal, but if you are looking for either a summer internship or if you are looking to do a spring internship program led by Syracuse (I know that Newhouse has a semester in NYC program that involves an internship), then going to Syracuse is a great option. I've found that there are many more opportunities for internships in NYC than anywhere else, and Syracuse seems to be a feeder school for interns in NYC (hopefully this makes sense lol). Also, Syracuse is a very reputable school that hiring managers recognize when looking for interns. You could also go to Syracuse and intern in Boston during the summer (if that's where you live). Either way, everyone I know who has looked for an internship has gotten one because of Syracuse's reputation and the number of resources/amount if help available to students!

    I'm highly thinking about transferring here, would you say its easy to meet people?

    • @PeytonBeck
      @PeytonBeck  5 лет назад +2

      Yes! There are so many opportunities to meet people whether it's through clubs, classes, or even just people that live in your building (if you were to live on campus). I also recently joined a sorority which is a great (but not necessary if it's not your thing) way to expand your circle. Everyone here is so nice and out going, and they genuinely want to meet new people. Also it's a decent sized school which is nice because there is always someone new to talk to, but it's also small enough where when I walk to class I always see at least 3 people that I know. I literally love Syracuse and I would suggest looking into it more and going online and taking a look at the clubs we have and the events we put on (especially Orange After Dark because those events are actually fun)! Good luck and I hope everything turns out well!

      @@PeytonBeck Yeah, i figured. It was so great to visit i really saw what I actually wanted in a school. Everyone was SO NICE I was shocked. And the school seems to do a great job creating student life. Thank you! I hope it all goes well and maybe ill see you around!

    Does Syracuse have an attendance policy for classes?

    • @PeytonBeck
      @PeytonBeck  4 года назад

      The professors usually come up with the attendance policy! Most of the classes I've been in have given me 2 or 3 unexused absences where you can miss class for whatever reason you want without being penalized. There are also some where the professors don't take attendance (usually bigger lectures), although sometimes in those classes you have to answer a few questions during class online to show that you were there. It honestly varies but I'd say that most classes do take attendance but give you some allowed absences!

      @@PeytonBeck thank you! I'm a senior this year and I applied ED to Syracuse. I still haven't heard back yet by I am trying to see how I could still come home once a month just for a night to run a workout with my competition team. It's for sure not an ideal situation lol but it would make me happy so I'll do what I have to.
