Devils have some real solid pieces. After watching the BS that Quinn Hughes has gone through recently, teams can simply target smaller players without consequences. That can’t happen. Both teams here will need to add veterans with physicality. Canes kind of have that. Caps and Lightning have more. Panthers can match the real intense in your face playoff hockey.

Losing in overtime was on Jack Hughs and he knew that running off the ice. Sometimes he try to do it all by him self and only McDavid and McKinnon has the ability to do that on a regular basis. I think Jack need to have som humble pie, he has excellent line mates and when he shares the puck amazing things usually happens.
If anything, the Devils got a couple breaks, including that weak slash against Zibanejad. The difference tonight is the Rangers cashed in on their opportunities. I like your overtime suggestion. I don’t think they’ll extend the 3 on 3 OT for a full 20 minutes, but I can see them making it 10 minutes.
It’s not that I mind losing to the Rags in overtime, or losing 5 of 6, but when the best goalie in the league is viciously attacked, the refs need to eject players. That’s why tonight’s game was a disgrace.
@@barryglazer6900no Shesterkin is the best goalie in the league overall and Hellebuyck is the best regular season goaltender. Markstrom often goes between really good seasons and horrible dog water seasons. Shesterkin has had to overcome a much weaker defensive system while the Devils have really improved their defensive core and it’s now much stronger so Markstrom has more help than Shesterkin. As much as I hate the Rangers I cannot discredit Shesterkin and their special teams.
