Probably the funniest positive review I've seen for a guitar. They can't stand looking at it but it's so good that they're relentlessly positive on the sound and the feel.
I love it. As an everyday guitar it plays extremely well. Everyone who has picked up mine, even though they might not like the look. They all agree from a playability perspective it’s a big leap ahead.
I felt the same way about headless guitars for the longest time. But I picked up a headless kiesel delos a few years ago and I play it more than anything else. it's so light and compact it's a perfect couch guitar. I'm pretty much sold on the concept and plan on getting another.
The headstock kinda (a lil bit) makes up for the wierd shape when it comes to putting the guitar down. You can easily chuck it onto a bed or sofa without worrying that the tuning pegs will get affected.
once you start to play it you appreciate its shape more and more till eventually it becomes the most beautiful guitar for you, at least that's what happened to me. Bought mine for ergonomics and versatility, but as a result sold my other guitars as I never played any of those since I've got a Strandberg. They did something right. Thank you, Ola!
Fits great in wall hangers made for ukelele like String Swing or Hercules. I also have a Hercules hanging floor stand. People use a lot of different stands, it's not as difficult as it seems at all.
I have an 8 string Strandberg and I LOVE it. Love the way it plays, sounds and looks. Every other guitar feels like a downgrade after living with a Strandberg for a while. Only annoying thing is finding a stand to put it on, I use one of those floor stands that has two cradle arms and a neck rest and it works great. There are some wall mounting pieces you can buy as well. If you've ever hit your headstock against your desk when writing / recording, this doesn't happen with Strandbergs. The lack of a headstock means it doesn't tip when you hold it. If you play in a more classical style and use a leg riser, you don't need that anymore with the Strandberg's 2nd leg position cutout. The angled neck gives you a more stable grip. The position of the jack means it never gets in the way or gets pulled out. All those little details for me add up to the perfect guitar. My biggest gripe is the lack of customization options like other pickup models, fancier finishes and wood selection etc.
Just recently got one, and love it. You guys had about the same reaction I did after sitting down with it for a while, I don’t hate how it looks, but I am afraid when I show up with it that people expect either a skill level or genre, I’m not prepared to play. My solution after about 2 weeks of trying to find a place to put it was, a hanging guitar stand that I modified with golf club grips, that I cut down to the size I needed, and slid on the stand backwards. I think not being able to hang it is its main flaw. Great video, and thanks.
regarding the comment to play something harder at around 10:02. One mostly sees headless guitars in harder rock/metal Per Nilsson played with Meshuggah on his strandberg and most of their songs is somewhat at the harder side of rock music
I got the Boden Metal NX 6. I played it lightly for a few days because it´s so light, I was afraid I was gonna break it. But I turned up the heat and agression. Still couldn´t knock it out of tune! It took me roughly two whole weeks before I needed to finetune it! These are words that no Gibson owner has ever spoken...
when the stratocaster was released last century there were two guys just like them criticizing the ridiculous design decisions Fender made and making fun of it
I have one and I can tell you its the best practice guitar youll ever own. Youll have it attached to you all the time anywhere you go in your home and youll be able to play it.
I'm personally going to just 3D print a headstock spacer so it hangs from there. BTW I really like the look of it but would prefer removing some material from the arm rest area to even it out.
As a metal guitarist, I always loved how they look anyway. I got a boden metal nx 7, and yeah, it probably is the best guitar I've ever played. These things are unbelievable 😅
You got stung by the Strandberg bug. Everyone I hear that tried one absolutely loves how it feels and talk about the neck profile for days. Yet, as ugly as sin. And Steve, mate, we need more of this outrage. Funny as hell! Love to the family 👋
I used to hate the looks as well. Now I have bought two within 2 years and sold 2 other guitars for them. The concept just wins you over and makes you love the design, over time. Even the looks. You start to feel like "yeah, finally a really modern guitar". But it's already becoming classic. I still want one with a Ibanez Wizard-style neck. Probably will have to do that myself once I have the money to buy the tools and material. I have been even thinking about butchering my USA PRS Custom24 to become headless. But I guess I should try it out on a cheaper guitar first :D
I love everything about it, but I'll have the black finish. Strandberg and various aftermarket companies make wall mounts for this and other headless guitars. A company called Hercules makes floor stands that grip the neck and suspend the guitar like that.
you know how good guitars look on guys like Vai or Mayer or someone of their stature., well for us guys and gals in the 5'6-5'8 range this is very appealing because the overall guitar size (not just the length) matches our guitar:stature proportionally well. can't wait to get me hands on one.
I love the look of the Tele version, it's really perverted! I tried another model and couldn't get on with the tuners or slanted frets. However it's not 1958 so it's great to innovate .
Seriously considering making a tele version. Any tips or suggestions? Might start it with a Les Paul style base as there’d be more top horn to shape like the Salen
I am waaaay past the “wtf” with these. I think they look gorgeous, especially the blue. I’d buy one now but I don’t like the red or black and they only sell the blue direct. Might just dive in the deep end and get a full fat
i think it is gorgeous, I dont love the color, but other than that it is a great looking guitar... having said that, the price for these guitars is ridiculous
"I don't want to be seen with it" - that's why the fret markers are "glow in the dark". You'd be standing in the dark corner. Nah, seriously - the looks grows on me. With time I might think its beautiful.
As someone who has this exact guitar and plays metal, it doesn't chug. Love the weight, feel of the neck but the OEM pickups are clear but super weak. Replaced mine with SD:BW and swapped the 5 way switch for a 3 way switch. Best decision. Also, if you need a guitar with a headstock and fancy body to impress guys at shows.. just come out. I'm sure they'll accept you. But if you want a great playing guitar and use it as a tool (ie like a guitar) You'll be happy with this one.
This is how ridiculous two people ranting against the first Telecaster probably sounded back in 1948. But that's exactly why the electric guitar industry has been stuck in its first years of evolution for so long. Because people buying instruments always do it with the goal of feeling like they're emulating someone else or be part of something they're actually not, instead of caring about playing in the best way possible, which is what this guitar design had in mind since the beginning. I'm sorry but this attitude is quite pathetic and this channel is really lame.
Ugly? The first time I've seen the Boden design, I thought it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! But I get it, you like your generic body shapes
You did no research before filming this? Germany? The city of boden? Who mr strandberg is? What great guitarists that plays strandberg? You guys are too young to already be afraid of new designs etc 😅
The pickups in strandberg guitars suck. They make everything you play sound like you're playing through an orange guitar head with the bass cranked. You think that would sound good but it doesn't. I immediately have to adjust my tone settings after plugging in one of these things. The sweet spot on your amp is no longer the sweet spot with this guitar.
I cannot get past how idiotic it looks. At least put some kind of decorative headstock on it. It ls like its been run over and left unfinished. It may be the best playing guitar on the planet, but i will never get past how shjt it looks.
Once you play one for a while and get used to it a traditional guitar feels really big, cumbersome and unnecessarily large. Don't get me wrong, I still love traditional guitars with headstocks, and no offence, but putting a decorative headstock on a headless guitar is the stupidest idea I've heard for a while.
I must be in the minority but I love how it looks
Me too
I love it too
Looks cool
I like them to. If they made a baritone I would buy one immediately.
You're not in the minority.... A lot of people like the headless aesthetic
Probably the funniest positive review I've seen for a guitar. They can't stand looking at it but it's so good that they're relentlessly positive on the sound and the feel.

I have the Paul Masvidal Masvidalien NX Arriving any minute. I absolutely love the aesthetics of them
The headstock kinda (a lil bit) makes up for the wierd shape when it comes to putting the guitar down. You can easily chuck it onto a bed or sofa without worrying that the tuning pegs will get affected.
Speaking as an old, fat guy, they are great for those of us with back, arm and hand pains too.
hand pains in particular, frosho
That's what I wanted to hear! Thanks!

Bought mine for ergonomics and versatility, but as a result sold my other guitars as I never played any of those since I've got a Strandberg. They did something right. Thank you, Ola!
Mine arrives tomorrow. I got it to play at my computer desk. Its compactness and extra position makes it great for tight spaces. Plus it's quality.
Fits great in wall hangers made for ukelele like String Swing or Hercules. I also have a Hercules hanging floor stand. People use a lot of different stands, it's not as difficult as it seems at all.
Fun video. Bought the Salen jazz model. The clarity is outstanding. Definitely a keeper.
I have that exact model, it's a great guitar, probably the best I have. It fits into a standard floor stand if you place it a little crooked
You can use banjo/mandolin hangers for the 6 string strandbergs. String swings work great.
They are beautiful
I think I’m gonna get one now 😅😅 I’m really sold on its sound. Sounds super versatile

I’ve got the 6string fan fret. My favourite in my collection at the moment. ☺️

Love the opening rant 🤣

I’ve been looking for a travel guitar and this looks like a better option than most of the travel guitars i have seen 🤔 🧐
I'm personally going to just 3D print a headstock spacer so it hangs from there. BTW I really like the look of it but would prefer removing some material from the arm rest area to even it out.
I hang mine using a ukulele string swing wall mount, or a zither guitar stand with the ukulele string swing wall mount.
As a metal guitarist, I always loved how they look anyway. I got a boden metal nx 7, and yeah, it probably is the best guitar I've ever played. These things are unbelievable 😅

If you want a headstock get an Abasi concepts emi 6.
If Plini showed up with his Stranberg I'd run the other way. Won't dare say... But can you play?
You guys are hilarious 🎉
It's great guitar:D
Play standing with a strap. There you will find the reason for the no headstock.
I am waaaay past the “wtf” with these. I think they look gorgeous, especially the blue. I’d buy one now but I don’t like the red or black and they only sell the blue direct. Might just dive in the deep end and get a full fat
Keep it on the stand from Strandberg or their wall mount, or Fender Universal A Frame, be careful with Strandberg though - no way back...
i think it is gorgeous, I dont love the color, but other than that it is a great looking guitar... having said that, the price for these guitars is ridiculous
I've bought 3 guitars since the strandberg essential came out. I keep passing on it because I have nowhere to set it down.

So you put 2 black winters?
I've read that it's difficult to palm mute. What are your experiences? Best regards
String Swing with a Ukelele hanger will hold up a Strandberg 👍🏽
Why do ppl rag on it aesthetic? Love the way that looks 😻🔥
Usually like you videos but this one makes you sound like you really don't know guitars.
You need to get the fanned frets or it's pointless
Strandberg makes a wall mount.
😎🩹😂

I'll take People Taking Things Too Seriously for 500, Alex
I can't use alley key to change strings in 2024
Ugly? The first time I've seen the Boden design, I thought it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! But I get it, you like your generic body shapes
Maybe if you had a house that didn't have any mirrors...

I am an old fat man and I just got one. I'll let you know
My strandberg is the best guitar I've ever played

I sort of experienced the opposite, I have to actively search for bad sounds when I play mine.
Call it the Mistress for how you enjoy using it but don't want to be seen with it
Boden weighs 4.75 pounds
It’s like you guys don’t have a clue…
I love the look. Yall are delusional
You guys are either taking the piss out of us or are just very ignorant of what's going on in the guitar world.
Bro is a guitar player posting youtube vids and doesnt know Strandberg? Cringe
Jesus Christ learn how to set up an amp the trouble was fucking killing my ears man
I cannot get past how idiotic it looks. At least put some kind of decorative headstock on it. It ls like its been run over and left unfinished. It may be the best playing guitar on the planet, but i will never get past how shjt it looks.
