Not sure how I missed this one until today! That was a fun day, pity it was so windy and chilly.
No need to worry about the net, I got a credit from the store to replace it with.
Can't wait until we catch up again. Had a ball and enjoyed meeting you very much.

Thankyou again Andrew for inviting us out - we had the best time and learned so much from you! We can’t wait to do it again in the near future - we’ll get in touch and work out a day where we can come out and do it again :)

90s a nice fish. A bloke pulled a metrey from out in Yerrabi Pond a couple of weeks ago. That is a big fish. My biggest is 96.

It’s sad to see how many of our waterways have carp in them, they are taking over

A lot of my best bass spots from when I was a kid now have carp in them.

They’re everywhere now. They’re destroying our damns and lakes and killing our native fish, very sad. Something needs to be done sooner not later

Carp were deliberately introduced into Lake Burley Griffin in 1977. They shared the lake with trout and a few hardy remnant natives from the Queanbeyan river, but there was not much around back in the day. The lake was fairly new and fairly sparsely populated by anything at all. Same can be said for the rivers when they were developed in Victoria in the 1960s. When you understand the history of Carp in this country, they are not the demons they are made out to be, and often coexist along side healthy populations of native fish and trout.
Not happy to hear they are in Googong Dam now, but it was a guarantee after a housing development was put in right next to the dam.
