I once visited USA as a tourist and I went to a AF store, with no intention of buying anything. The store smelled so so so good that I needed up purchasing stuff and then I visited the another store and purchased again and then again and eventually purchased 2 bottles of Fierce and so much more stuff. I just loved it back then. Haha! Thinking about it now, it always makes me laugh. How human emotions work.
Yeah I can’t smell this without thinking of walking past A+F in the mall 20 years ago. Literally blasted it out of the vents you could smell it 20 feet outside of the store. Memories

The perfumer that made this fragrance actually released a GCMS of this fragrance! He said that he only used two naturals in this one, Lavandin and Clary Sage. And yes - this one is heavily based on IES - 45% of the formula!
Iconic scent. Reminds me of walking into Abercrombie and Fitch stores during the 90s and 2000s. Or just the mall in general. It is an iconic mall vibe scent.

Don't know if they used anything before that maybe they did before Woods was released but if biography is right Woods was their first fragrance.
Abercrombie still makes Fierce. It's been their biggest selling fragrance ever. Although, it's been reformulated since the original. Not many remember Abercrombie Woods, which to me was heaven in a bottle. The OG version was magic, but the later re-release was not.

Back then this was one of my favourite scents. But because it was discontinued, I started using the original MB Legend. It's a great substitude for this nostalgic scent. Great review, Aaron

Some grey market retailers may still have some stock including eBay, amazon etc but usually if you are from outside North America you won't find it at the major and regular perfumeries.

I didn't know it was discontinued it's on virtually every website in the UK still, Americans know it as the mall fragrance from going to shopping centres and they must have a lot of A&F stores and they say they smell this as soon as they walk in the door
I like the technical breakdown how certain chemical compound produce certain notes. I don't get much sweetness on this one, more like citrus, forest-y (pine?) and musk.
If you smelled the original, first batches, you would faint if you love this current version. It was way stronger and the oak moss was more pronounced. It’s spawned so many inspirations: Skull & Roses by Ed Hardy, Armaf Derby Gold, Mont Blanc Legend, Mont Blanc Legend Intense, etc. I even had a fragrance oil of it. I still love this scent!
So I used to have the “original” version back in the day and it was absolutely fabulous, the latest “batches” do not smell as high quality (almost a more synthetic scent) so I wonder what changed and why, do you know?
@@haydensmith888 Yes. First, IFRA regulations made it impossible to stay the same. Limited oak moss and other ingredients. That took away a big part of MANY fragrances that I loved (Tsar was one of them).

I like to add a single spray layered on top of other fragrances to give a hint of nostalgia and freshness. It’s still surprisingly effective in that regard. Reminds me of my 20s.

If you liked this one you should review Parfums De Marly - Percival or Tiziana Terenzi - Foconero, they are very similar but with more natural ingredients.
The perfumer of this is super cool (christophe laudamiel) he does a lot of initiatives around transparency and accountability in fragrance. The story on Fierce is pretty cool as well in how it came about. The process and testing and such. Definitely worth checking out.

Great video! Does this in any way smell like Dior Homme 2020? I'm looking for something like Dior Homme 2020 but with more punch. Fresh woods masculine with a hint of sweetness in the dry down (to my nose at least) I love it, but it doesn't project how I'd like it to.
Good ole Fierce. I hardly wear it these days, but, when used to wear it back in the day… TON of compliments. Mainstream as you can get but they got it right and hit it out of the park when they came out with this and the marketing campaign. I remember when A&F opened their store just off Savile Row they used to pump this through the air-conditioning & outside the store - anyone who worked within a quarter of a mile of the store grew to hate it very quickly as it was inescapable ! 😂

just like any other perfume, I've been told this has been heavily reformulated and it is watered down way too much compared to the first few years of production. this is something many would've smelled in the malls everywhere in the US back in the early 2000s.

Man if it were possible to find you a red letter bottle from 2002-2004 that doesn’t completely ruined top and mid notes I’d send you some of that to try. I had this when it was released and also worked there one season as an opener. We used to spray this everywhere in the store with big Fierce Room Spray bottles that were concentrated enough to the point where it said on the label to not let it come in direct contact with skin haha. Miss it!
I would love to see you do a review on one of their other great fragrances, Ellwood. One of my all time favorites, unfortunately the last few batches I got smelled like alcohol but the first few I had were divine ❤
Haven't tried this but have a bottle of PDM Percival which is very similar by all accounts and my favourite. Paid a lot less than retail for on og 2018 bottle though.

Em I doing myself a disservice by getting Mont Blanc Legend EDP? I mean it's an EDP which is better constructed & it lasts longer. A&F FIERCE it's an EDC [Eau de Cologne] so it's not even an EDT. EDC fragrances are like Eau Fraîche fragrances, they lasts 2 to 3 hours max. Not worth it.
Great review as always! I really enjoyed this in my teens and early 20s. Many people compare this to Parfums de Marly's 'Percival', Mont Blanc 'Legend', and even your brand's 'Guapo'. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on how you'd compare them! General opinions/reviewers seem to say Percival is slightly more mature, and better quality. MB Legend being fruitier, and ATH Guapo being creamier and the best of these four.
Hey Aaron can you do a review on Lafayette Street by Bond No9 I’ve been contemplating adding that to my collection but have been looking for professional insight before hand.
I wondernif Aaron knows how much the malls all across the U.S. absolutely REEKED of this for the last decade or two. Intoxicating and dizzying! And you didn’t have to walk inside the store to feel dizzy from FIERCE lol.
Its not discontinued, but A&F made it an exclusive product in europe so usually you will find Fierce and its variations only at A&F stores and their online shops. The bottle has been through some design changes, though since 2004 only the caps have changed and obviously the model was updated/changed at the back multiple times throughout the years. And yes it has been reformulated some times since 2012, not as strong long lasting as it originally was but the great smell remains and at least on my skin it lasts 8h+ though I assume it is a closer skin scent after 6 hours.

Yeah , got a 200ml of this stuff. Just wish it lasted longer than like 4-5 hours MAX. But it’s a gorgeous timeless scent for men

Em I doing myself a disservice by getting Mont Blanc Legend EDP? I mean it's an EDP which is better constructed & it lasts longer. A&F FIERCE it's an EDC [Eau de Cologne] so it's not even an EDT. EDC fragrances are like Eau Fraîche fragrances, they lasts 2 to 3 hours max. Not worth it.
For me, for some reason, ATH's Guapo and PdM's Percival smell similar to Fierce, except they're more unique.
Does anyone know a stronger version of this cologne. I own it but it doesn’t last long. Looking for a similar scent but longer lasting

Great review as always! I really enjoyed this in my teens and early 20s. Many people compare this to Parfums de Marly's 'Percival', Mont Blanc 'Legend', and even your brand's 'Guapo'. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on how you'd compare them!
General opinions/reviewers seem to say Percival is slightly more mature, and better quality. MB Legend being fruitier, and ATH Guapo being creamier and the best of these four.

Hey Aaron can you do a review on Lafayette Street by Bond No9 I’ve been contemplating adding that to my collection but have been looking for professional insight before hand.
I wondernif Aaron knows how much the malls all across the U.S. absolutely REEKED of this for the last decade or two. Intoxicating and dizzying! And you didn’t have to walk inside the store to feel dizzy from FIERCE lol.
I still saw it at A&F stores in Frankfurt but probably reformulated as the bottle was different
Its not discontinued, but A&F made it an exclusive product in europe so usually you will find Fierce and its variations only at A&F stores and their online shops. The bottle has been through some design changes, though since 2004 only the caps have changed and obviously the model was updated/changed at the back multiple times throughout the years. And yes it has been reformulated some times since 2012, not as strong long lasting as it originally was but the great smell remains and at least on my skin it lasts 8h+ though I assume it is a closer skin scent after 6 hours.

People claim this to be very close to PDM Percival. Is that true?
PDM Percival copied Fierce so Percival is a clone of Fierce. Actually all PDM frags are clones
