I have so freaking much to say about this video. I will organize it in list form for your convenience.
1. I miss this hair on Ken. So much. So. Much.
2. WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH A SLICE OF CHA FOREHEAD
3. Ken: "When did I show me to you?" *starts stripping* I think I died. wtf. Give this man his own variety show
4. "I'm that sexy!" I think the reason why I love N so much (and the entire international audience seems to as well) is that he has some very western tendencies, like self-promotion and self-adoration. I find it really interesting that, growing up in such a conservative culture like Korea's, he could have this personality. You go, N. Don't ever let the world beat that out of you.
5. I like how Ken can play off N and make N's jokes even funnier without putting him down. Instead of telling N that he isn't sexy or that he's embarrassing, he does the bloody nose thing. Can we get some recognition for Ken here
6. "What?" "I don't know." But they're both laughing anyway, and that is the summary of HaKen
7. Ugh. The whole skin thing. I actually groaned and facepalmed. N is kind of brave, saying he'd be too sexy to handle, instead of caving and acting embarrassed. But the great irony is that I think he's much, MUCH sexier with his bronze skin than in those whitewashed edited photos on fan sites, in which he looks almost sickly.
8. Their hair is REALLY REALLY on point. Have I mentioned Ken's hair yet? KEN'S HAIR.

I think its sad that people pick on N for his skin tone..its not very nice is it when he clearly feels uncomfortable. I will never understand why yhe koreans or anybody thinks white is prettier..if your good looking, your good looking regardless of your skin tone. Kikiyo Girl uhm no. It obviously depends on the person, koreans come in different shades- from snow white to tanned. Saying they're all/most dark is as wrong as saying they're all pale. If you ever visited korea you'd notice that they're much lighter than other asian countries, of course

He is perfect how he is. Tons of girls find him perfect too. He is actually more attractive than most of the men in my home country. If I had to decide between dating someone who is white as a sheet of paper or Hakyeon, I would take Hakyeon. He is such a nice guy with a handsome face and he has good manners. I have really fair skin even more fair when you compare it to the skin color of the vixx members (i've met them during the high five event at the milky way showcase and ALL their hands were much darker than mine). My parents keep nagging because I have too light skin in their eyes and they say that it doesn't look healthy. I know in korea it's the ideal to have fair skin but for example in germany it's the opposide, here it's the ideal to be tan. Many adults and teenagers go to sun studios to get more tan. I don't even care about skin color, it's something you're born with and it's ok to be different. I think as a singer you should care more about your singing and dancing skills rather than skin color. Someone with a handsome face like N shouldn't care about his skin color that much~ :)
It's actually pretty sad that some "starlights" keep saying such things :S Just look at N's face after he read that question.
I can relate to all of what you've said so much! (Living in England though, and sadly not having met VIXX as of yet) it's so curious seeing a culture that values paleness above all else when I come from a society that's always telling me to get a fake tan before I blind someone!
Monica Kim Its the same for me in Belgium. I have a really light skin color and most people always think that I'm sick or something. So yeah its really sad that N always have to hear such things about his skin color and I don't get it. He's handsome so fans and other people really need stop bashing his skin color.

The worst bit about it actually is that VIXX's management selected that question out of the hundreds that were sent in... Clearly it must be taken very differently in Korea and not considered any more than very very mildly offensive.
Ollie yeah youre absolutely right; in korea they don't have a sense of racism being a problem and they are much more outspoken about telling each other things like "you've got fat" or in this case "you're dark"... it's hurtful to be told that kind of thing wherever you live in the world, as seen by N's face, so it's kind of a bit of a shame that korea hasn't made it a social faux pas to talk like that about this kind of thing yet. Whatever part of the world you come from, you can always be insulted equal amounts by the same comment, whether or not that comment is regarded as socially appropriate or not :/

You know, i understand that Korea has different standards as far as skin tone, but I find it EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful to constantly point out that N (or Kai, Tao, etc) have darker skin than everyone else.
They can't help it, and they shouldn't be told that their only downfall is that they're not light-skinned enough (I'm talking to you, Taemin). They're all beautiful people and just as equally attractive, "dark" or not.
It's about the equivalent as Americans and making ginger jokes just because they have red hair. "Oh haha, you're pretty but you're also a ginger so you don't have a soul and you probably blind people when you walk outside in the sunlight". Like. No. WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO CRITICIZE ANYONE JFC SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND STOP.
tl;dr - Hakyeon, please don't ever let anyone's comments get to you about your skin. Your Korean fans and peers may make little jokes, but don't forget that you have international fans who have no problem with it, because we have experience with people outside of the "pasty, ghost-like" skin range. my sister and dad are both red heads and she gets so much crap for it. You only see the red in my hair every once in a while, so no one ever says anything to me, but it's gotten so bad with my sister that she's begged my mother to let her dye it.
I feel the same way, it makes me sad when they get insecure about their skin tone. And they are not even "dark"! when they make comments like that I'm sitting here either like, there are thousands of people that are darker than you so calm down, i would definitely not fit beauty standards in South Korea, or skin is just a corporeal thing, and it shouldn't be used as a hindering source.

I hate it when people comment negatively about N's skin tone. It makes me super insecure about mine because I'm so much darker than him. Like come on, in my country people would be jealous when you have a natural darker, tanned skin color. People over here are doing everything they can to have a darker skin, like laying in the sun way to much and to long or laying under a fake sun (don't know the right word in english) or having a sort of creme on there body to look darker,ect. I think N is still handsome with his tan skin. I don't think him being any lighter would change how handsome he is. It makes me kinda of uncomfortable because I have brown skin, like what would they think of me. Its unfair for them to pick on him for something that he can not control. When I first saw N I was thinking "Why is he so tan? Shouldn't he be pale like other kpop stars?" But after I saw him perform I immediately thought it was refreshing to see a tanned kpop star and that I was very impressed that he didn't bother paling it, didn't fall for the Asian(korean) standard of beauty.
Each of the vixx group has something that makes them distinctive and eye catching to see. N's tanned skin caught my eye and I've been a Starlight since day 1!
Oh my fucking god I'm facepalming at the dark/light skin question. Like seriously, how rude can people be? When I watched VIXX's Super Hero for the first time, yes I noticed that Hakyeon was a bit darker, but I also noticed that he was incredibly attractive. In my eyes he looked exotic and really sexy. I hate the fact that kfans can never give dark skinned idols ( they aren't even dark skinned anyway so its a stupid term) a break. It's the same with EXO's Kai + Tao. Like god, have some respect people it's not like he can control it.

Well, even if he's tanned skin.. many Starlights love him despite of being called as "Dark Skin". That kind of skin tone, when you compared to the Philippine people/Filipinos.. is just the average. Hot actors/Singers here are not fair but they are famous and popular even in other countries. SO, SKIN TONE IS NOT A BIG DEAL. IT'S NOT A BASIS OF BECOMING AN IDOL. That's it :)

Only one thing really stood out here to me, N's FOREHEAD!!!!! it's happening! like he said, he's revealing it slowly ahahaha
It's his tan skinned that makes everyone goes crazy, dont be whitewashed or let yourself be bleached. Looking at this old videos and the new ones he lost his glowing tan. But in the pictures and videos from the military you can see it coming back and I couldn't be happier. Because that's his skin, that gorgeous glowing skin. The same reason he doesn't like showing his body because he is sexy enough without showing anything. In my opinion he is sexy enough without being just another white idol. He is perfect. I wish we could let him know how beautiful he is to have a sun kissed skin and the glow of the moon. I would give him the whole universe to let him know how beautiful he is without changing a thing.

I honestly think N's darker skin tone makes him very attractive! The questions don't mean harm but I just wish he could see it that way! But yet again it must be difficult when the people and culture around him doesn't find dark skin beautiful. There's no doubt though I've fallen for him and I find everything about him incredibly beautiful!
