Thank you!! I just enrolled in my PhD program and I am soaking up all the information I can to prepare me for a successful endeavor. I shall take heed of your advice.
Good luck! All the best in your research. It may feel like you are wasting time. But spending time to get organized will save you a lot of hassle in the future! What's your research?
Video extremely helpful for me. Just as a first year PhD student at Mbarara university of Science and Technology. Going through putting myself to speed of a PhD life.
Hello Courtney, thanks. I am only a Masters student on sabbatical right now but this video gave me a glimpse of what's involved in doing a Doctorate. Thanks for your clear presentation of the topic. I will probably watch your video multiple times in order for me to digest your points of discussion. I like to watch Thomas Frank's productivity videos as well but his videos are so dense with information that it can be difficult to digest in one sitting. Thanks for adding to my reservoir of info.
Thank you for providing this content. You mentioned a reference manager. I never knew this existed. During my masters program I used word or doc with highlights and short sentences to help me identify the content. I will definitely explore this further
Hi Maria, Thank you very much for this, it really help me to reflect on my current mindset. I am in the 5th month of my PhD study. Started getting panic because I have not got a system nor a work habit at the moment. But will started get organised, hopefully it's not too late! Please upload more video about your PhD study experience, thank you!!!
I am a PhD student in my first year. This video is highly informative and help me to plan my PhD journey. Please kindly inform the name and the author of the book you recommended to read as the sound is not clear in the video. Thank you
Hi, Thanks for the excellent advice. You have advised me not to isolate myself in the first year of my PhD (which I am starting in May) and to stay connected. I will be doing my PhD via my university's Cloud Campus. Do you have any tips regarding how I can not isolate myself?
Congratulations on the offer! And best wishes when starting. It’s really tough starting virtually and I applaud you in advance. I would say to get as involved as possible. If there are events such as virtual coffee mornings, try to join. Go to your research group meetings etc. It’s really easy to stick to yourself when doing distance learning. But just try to join various calls. Take advantage of the welcome week events and connect with some of the new PhDs as well

What book did you recommend we read please? Couldn't hear it so well from the video.
Thank you for the tip on the work/life balance, because I'd have worked as a donkey 24/7 until the mental breakdown
What's the book you mentioned on success markers? I didn't catch the title. Thanks!
Please explain why since 1903 there are ZERO black Nobel Laureates in STEM?
What is the best advice can you give to a first year student/fresher..(bachelor degree)??

@@NerdToFit Thanks Maria.
When you say 'connect with some of the new PhDs as well', do you mean 'connect with some of the new PhD students as well?'
Where are you from? Your accent sounds...Caribbean.
Hi! Need a talk for a perdonal help!
