    I want to take the bullet, the one aimed straight for your heart
    I want to meet the wolves halfway, and let them tear me apart
    But that's not the way they do it here
    I want to lay on the tracks, feel hot steel screaming at me
    Expose the bones on my back, let me show you what I mean
    Yeah, it's a different kind of love
    I want to climb barbed wire fences and warm our hands in blood
    And this is my gift, asking you to fix my ruined hands
    And it's a gift that keeps on giving, and right now it's all I have to give
    I want to write the perfect song, and play it just for you
    While you're tangled up in sleep
    I need you more that I'll ever know
    Until I stop breathing, my lungs will take you for granted

    Oh these sounds make me feel 17 again when Thrice was just amazing nothing they put out was okay it was all amazing, this was My song for my ex at the time brings back soo many memories. Prince was right best times of partying were 1999-2009 to me the best decade for music in my lifetime. Funny thing is now every old HxC band is back and playing in their 50's and 60's who would have thought the Circle Jerks Black Flag Agnostic Front The Misfits and etc would be dragging their old asses out to play 25 minute sets at huge festivals.

      To me this was the "ONLY" like they couldn't get better and they couldn't get worse this was Apex just like Alkaline when they released "Good Mourning" like Guns N Roses right after "Appetite for Destruction" I mean things of legends that can't be redone it's a movement of music and sounds and people, when a band makes music that's bigger than themselves and transcends their audience that's a rare and amazing thing.

      @@bjdickerson4578 it's good you appreciate them I'm 36 almost 37 and most people I used to go to shows with or play music with all basically turned mainstream not hipster, even Thrice when I saw them with Rise Against, and the Deftones, Thrice opened and nobody knew who they were except for like 'Black 🍯" was weird especially in Philly.

      So backwards (music is one of the most subjective things but still)... Most ppl seem to be like that one way or another nowadays. Maybe they always were (a bit more casually tho?), but it's got out of hand, for many reasons... Internet echo chambers and fanaticism/absolutism/immaturity etc being the main ones.
      If reality/facts/objective details, etc don't agree with their views/perspectives, and cRiTicAL tHinKiNg, well... their(??) loss, the personal view wins in ppl's brains.

      What exactly do you miss, Paul?
      Because if it's the innocence(?) or era/period ppl of our age had then, it's understandable and most of us feel it. But if it's the edginess and "emo" trend, meh... I may still listen to such songs/artists even now but come on, Thrice and many more have aged undeniably well. Those stuck at the drama queen lyrics and predictable tunes/sound effects are rightfully ignored by most, imo anyway.
      But we've got worse things to worry about tbh. The worst.
      And afaik this is in fact why we miss stuff from our childhood/teens and b4 2009 or so.

    • @Yoohoomcgrew
      @Yoohoomcgrew Год назад +2

      @@hawkstrike18 your missing the point big guy. I saw them live a little while back and they didn't play one song from their first four records even though clearly that's what the fans wanted. Their new stuff is just boring and stands for nothing.

    • @hawkstrike18
      @hawkstrike18 Год назад

      @@Yoohoomcgrew hmmm I'm guessing it hurts you that they've matured.
      Denial, too, indeed.
      It's even obvious what political side you've been supporting, as you aren't the first person I've met who calls different perspectives and observations etc as 100% "meaningless" or "empty" just because they don't agree with your absolutist/planted/parroted common *opinions* that are so "innocently" promoted online the last decade and more.
      If anything, it turns out I'm proven right (once more), and not missing any point. On the contrary.
      And if any of my assumptions is wrong, I'll admit it, but I doubt it.
      Btw, what's the difference between hipsters, emo, metalheads, whatever musical elitists or single-genre fans, *and* mainstream ppl?
      They all try to belong to a tribe, in the end, lol. Try opening your mind a little, even if it's only about music, at first.
