Judging by this individual's technique, the kitchen utensils, oven, bowls, etc., this is probably a professional baker - or at least one who was, once. Must be nice to have such good equipment to cook with. The proof is in the results.

Hi- attempted this recipe but the braid didn't stick to the underside of the dough. Also it didn't brown well. First recipe of yours that I'm having issues. Will attempt again.

I tried the recipe today, are you sure it's the right amount of flour and water? Because I had to add quite a lot of flour for it to look like your dough and it's not my first slice of bread.

You can, it will make a more tender bread with a closer crumb. It might take a little bit more time to rise as well.

I don't understand the reason for sprinkling and folding in the flour after the 2 hr rise ... and before turning it out on the floured surface. Could you explain?
The dough was very wet so I’m assuming they did it so it didn’t stick to the spatula too much
@@raahimkamaal5363 I would have dampened the spatula to help scrape out the dough more easily, rather than adding more flour to the dough, but maybe that's just me.
@@laraq07 I would've done the same. Adding flour would just toughen the bread. But then, I haven't done the math to see the original dough hydration %. Too lazy at the moment. 😅

Yeah, this bread is NOT enriched, so it's not going to last longer than dinner, and maybe breakfast. If I made it, I'd add at least a tbsp of oil to it, or at least to my hands to make it easier to handle instead of flour, which would also make it last just that much longer if there's only one or 2 ppl eating it.
That's just me though.

It's amazing how soft dough can be twisted! I'm not sure if I can succeed, i want to use half the amount to try it. Do I need to adjust the temperature and shorten the bake time? Appreciate for your beautiful sharing and answer🌹🌹🌹
💊 👎 😣 very disappointed I did it and it is a very compact bread and it lacks salt
The salt amount should be 1.5% the weight of your flour, so maybe use 6 to 8g of salt. But the compactness of your bread could be anything from too little water due to the low humidity of your kitchen or weather; to your adding too much flour when manipulating the dough before the 2nd rise.
If you try the recipe again, try dampening your hands instead of using flour to move the dough around before that 2nd rise, or use some oil instead. Pour a tbsp of light olive or canola into a small dish and just dip your fingertips into it before spreading it on your hands. It's going to help keep your bread fresh a bit longer as well.

You can up the amount to 7 or 8g and see if it's better. I usually use 1.5% the weight of the flour worth of salt in my bread recipes. Give it a try and see if it works for you.
