A person who does not believe (rejects) the teachings of Allah which were brought by the Prophet Muhammad Shollallahu 'alaihi wa sallam, in fact that person does not believe/rejects the teachings of Allah who sent the Prophet Muhammad Shollallahu 'alaihi wa sallam. For people who know about the sending of the Prophet Muhammad Shollallahu 'alaihi wa sallam, but still do not believe in the Prophet Muhammad Shollallahu 'alaihi wa sallam, and then he dies, then he will be among the inhabitants of hell.
Rasulullah shollallahu 'alaihi wa sallam said: "By Allah, in Whose hand Muhammad's soul is, no one from this Ummah will ever be hear about me, whether he is a Jew or a Christian, then he dies before believing with the teachings that I brought, unless he is among the inhabitants of hell." (H.R. Muslim from Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu 'anhu).

From one false religion to another
One with a violent past and one thst os evil today and enjoys killing others but both are guilty of that. One has a false leader and on books to the bible and one uses a man made book to worship a false god too. There is no hope if anu persons following catholicism or Islam. Only faith in Jesus is there hope and salvation.
