Thank you for the introduction of the Rotterdam, we will be on the Baltic cruise on 28/9/2024. Its very much different than the Volendam which we had on the Alaska cruise.
You're welcome, Elaine. This Pinnacla Class of ships is, imo - not too large, while providing more venues than Volendam. Baltics are a great place to take Rotterdam! Thanks for taking the time to comment :)
I haven't seen anything about this ship before. It looks very modern compared to the Cunard ships that I've been on. I'll have to watch your other Holland America videos again to compare them to this one. You certainly covered everything on board.
@@joanfreestone1707 thank you, Joan. This is a Pinnacle Class ship, one of three that Holland America have. One of the two others is Konningsdam, which is on our channel. There are certainly more modern than Cunard in technology, not counting the newest Queen Anne.
@@InnocentsAbroad Very interesting. After enjoying Rotterdam Northern Isles of Europe, and reading about Cunard lately disappointing ballroom dancers with less ballroom dance, I'm thinking of staying with Rotterdam HAL. I mean CCL owns both HAL and Cunard, and I don't see why I should pay a premium price for Cunard should the Cunard ship have dated technology, dated safety, dated efficiency, compared to HAL Rotterdam, and Cunard is apparently is no longer supporting ballroom dancers.
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it. The food in the grand Dutch Café is always free- beverages are not, and are dependent on what type of drinks package you may have.
Hi Bob, another really thorough ship tour of what looks to be a really lovely ship. It’s funny, I never seem to find the gym in my ship tours, I wonder why? 😂 Coincidentally, was that a model of the original Rotterdam I saw in the Crows Nest? There was a TV programme over the weekend about how once in the 1970s it sailed from New York into the Caribbean with an absolute A-list of jazz performers onboard, what a musical cruise that must have been.
@@CruisingPeter Hi Pete, I don’t remember what model that was, but I think it was a much earlier variant. I believe there have been several Rotterdams- the one you mentioned with the A-listers… is a floating hotel in Rotterdam; we were on her late April (Vlog of which prob late Spring ‘25).

Thank you for getting up at the crack of dawn to film your excellent tour. 🫶
@@cruiseforever1281 lol! You’re welcome. It’s the best way to have the least people in foreground of shots 😂
Hi Bob. A very complete and thorough tour. Thanks😊
@@warrenwolf4690 Very welcome, Warren!
Lovely walk through. Looking forward to checking the Grand Dutch Café when we board the Nieuw Statendam next week.
@@susanmacgregor426 Thank you! The cafe is great 😊
Liking the look of the Grand Dutch Cafe 😊
@@virtualgardener Us too. Prefer this class of HAL ships just for that 😘
Thanks for a great tour! We haven’t sailed with HAL yet, but they’re on my short list.
@@DHollandTravels Thanks, Dave! HAL’s thing is music - if you like that, you’ll probably love HAL ☺️
Lovely ship and entertainment venues looked great. The food you showed all looked amazing, you definitely wouldn’t go hungry on this ship.
Thank you! Not at all easy to starve on this line! Thank you for commenting :)

Well done, as is all your work, Bob thank you. Jorge
Thank you, Jorge!!
Lovely presentation, makes me want to go. Is the Dutch cafe inclusive? That Spa looks very relaxing.

@@InnocentsAbroad ah that’s really interesting. Apparently it was the largest cruise ship in the world “at the time” 😁
