Lol that HODOR T-Shirt is awesome!
LOL! That epic ending! I still have all my old school techno/trance/happy2bhardcores and just about any electronic cd I had back in the day....I still have. I still love the scratching, it fills me with the nostalgic goodies!
I've listened to this session at least over 200 times, you need to do more scratch it's mesmerizing!
Glad to see a few people embracing the old ways still, nice work. For all you new comers to scratching search DJ QBERT and enjoy your mind being blown.
I think scratching is fun to listen to and indeed cool to watch in short bursts like videos like these, or A-trak or Craze, but gets a bit fatiguing for longer periods when you just want to here music mixed nicely.
actually scratching is a great way to mix music...
Don't doubt it man! I just prefer it when it's condensed like this. Just my opinion though :)
Adam Seckel I also agree. the only point of scratching is that most of the people out there just scratch on hiphop music what I don't like. like this, with Melbourne Bounce, it's really nice
to me, YOU ARE ONE OF THE BEST SCRATCHERS IN THE WORLD!!
The Old DJ Ravive!!!!!!!! The best!
Dj ravine I can't describe how much you inspire me bro thankyou for making more videos
A lot of EDM music is so saturated that there's nowhere to fit a scratch without it sounding out of place.
There ARE other genres out there..
Paul Sayer Yes, there are.
Paul Sayer But all DJ"s ARE only playing EDM.
Is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
devansh kamdar what the fuck?
SCRATCH THAT MELBOURNE BOUNCE MASTER DJ RAVINE!!!!!!!
Dude, you are the best. Rock and roll dude!
Big bounce fan here. Not sure how I feel about the scratches at first impressions. I think the biggest negative to it is the many tiny pitches in the track you scratch with. That said, with a good idea of the Tracy you scratch to, or perhaps a little compression or distortion added, or even some more little dashes of melody and breaks in there, I can see it being a great party trick and a nice, new track sound. Regardless of how it sounds, someone will like it and it's new and original sounding, which is a constant necessity. Nonetheless, my opinion aside, nice video Rav!
You fuckin started my DJ career with this. Now I DJ for my middle school at our parties. Thank you!
Do more scratching mixes please!
What are you talking about not being the best scratcher in the world for? Your rhythm, style, and sample selection kills!
Its cause we're broke! and the controllers are cheaper than turntables ;(
i would love to get my hands on some technics and keep scratching alive
Shams Hassan Who says you can't scratch with controllers ;) Pioneer DDJ-WeGO w/ djay "Just screwing around" Prog - Electro - Trance - Whatevs Mix
It's not the same as vinyl, i've scratched on turntables before, and it is a HUGE difference from a controller, trust me i've seen people who have scratch with controllers and it's dope, but i dont think it's genuine and authentic as a turntable and vinyl :/
Check out my mixes ravine, tell me what you think, i've been following you since you did that virutal dj tut ^.^
soundcloud.com/mr-shams/mix-9 tell me what you think!
Shams Hassan WTF? what do you mean it's not genuine? it's the same shit. I used to have turntables back in the vinyl days, now technology has made it easy for us dj to revolutionize and use all this new tech to our advantage. it's the same art form!!! believe me, I been there done that.
+George Munoz scratching on a controller is not the same at all period! It's the same art form sure, but having a spinning platter with torque to it is not the same as scratching on a controller without a spinning platter. Even an ns7 with a spinning platter does not feel the same as scratching on turntables. Sure you can do basic scratches on controllers, but try doing tazers successfully on a controller!!!
You hit the head on the nail with that one. A controller and a laptop unfortunately somewhat gets the job done at a low price. I have an SX and I would love this setup.
Hardcore is custom made for scratching nice one my friend & your really good,
you should seriously do a scratch tutorial... your one of the better scratchers I've seen
have you seen DJ Angelo or JFB or Craze, Noise, Mix Master Mic, Qbert etc etc
Bro... please more of this!!!!!!
NOT THE BEST SCRATCHER IN THE WORLD!?!?!?!?!?? MAN YOU ARE GREAT!!!!!!!
i think most djs aren't scratching any more ( at least in edm ) cuz of several reasons. 1 most music is already full with so much going on anyway that it probably would sound out of place in some genres of edm. 2 i think that another reason its not as popular is because not many other big djs do it , to my knowledge at least. an since most new djs look at big djs as a role model or guide if they don't see them do it they probably feel it isn't important to learn. 3 people are probably afraid to fail at it or get discouraged, but the truth is it is like playing a instrument it takes time to learn all the types an ways to scratch an how to mix an match an get the timing down so that the sample can play out fully an go back to scratching. i know that some trap songs you can scratch over since it is kinda like hip hop an rap, again to my knowledge i know trap is a picky genre.
Any way Ravine i think you should make a tutorial video with some examples of different genres you can scratch over an different samples an where you can find some to use as the scratch sounds, as well as how to get out of that an into another song with only 2 decks so every one can practice on decks an on controllers.
do more videos of this!!! Its amazing
Man, you are amazing !!! I really want to meet you someday :D
You are an insiration both you and Cotts.. love your work
If somebody did this live, I would legit throw down to it. Getting some scratchy goodness in there really gives the song a much stronger vibe.
"im not the best scratcher in the world"....automatically nails it haha!
Dude that's a bad ass set up and u can scratch damn good
Wouldn't be a Ravine scratch session without 'Aw yeah'
Common Ravine keep us updated maybe a mix or something.I mean just look at that new gear!
Please do a part 2 of this! That was sick!
I want more from this stuff!
Hi Ravine. What do you think about Dj Sleeper? He scratches but he didn't make a video in 2 years...too bad because i think he's an awesome DJ and deserves more views.
Returns to old school
Every time someone scratches their paying homage Grand wizard Theodore the inventor of the scratch
You need to do a 10-15 min Melbourne bouncw Scratch session. it sounds awsom
awesome scratching
There are more and more djs that think the art of djing is what everyone saying it is (just pushing play) and dont think its necesary to be creative so they just don learn it oftenly. Some maybe can but are afraid to fail in front of a crowd eventualy but mostly they just dont think it helps in anny way. But i think its a thing that improves the mixes soooo much if used correcetly and decent, so im learning and doing it myself and would recomend everyone to try it as well (Its a bunch of fun even on a Traktor S4 only, but nothing over turntables). I hope i survive untill the hype of djin being "easy" pass and the people who have skill start to rule again. (DJing is just like driving a car, you can drive like everyone else or you can get a relly-race-driver/Formula 1 pilot ;) ) Cheeres :)
Awesome! I've seen MAKJ and Juicy M strach every now and then.

I have a controller so its kinda hard to scratch but i try and im learning. I really look forward to day i finally get the plx 1000!
Same here
You could get stanton str8-80s. I use them and they are quite noice for scratching. Sadly they are discontinued but it's pretty easy to find second hand
Get yourself some 1200s >.< or the Numarks.
Old Fashion!!!
OMG!!!THAT SHIRT!!!He´s Watching me
Went to a local rave and this one DJ did an amazing scratch session to the house song. I loved it but he started getting booed. I over heard this girl talking to her friend and she was saying how scratch makes EDM sound ugly. I left immediately after hearing that comment. People suck now
DjRavine please make more videos like this!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!
It would be nice if you could make a tutorial on how to scratch on a DDJ-SR or SX :))
Nice one !!!!
I would love to learn how to scratch but learning to do it on tiny platters is way too difficult
I like this dj
Can you make a longer scratch set please
THAT SHIRT IS SICK AS FUCK
