I might be wrong but I don’t think it was a brake failure. Going into the turn it didn’t sound like a gradual drop in rpm’s but rather a sudden drop like he grabbed another gear. Also, it broke coming out of the corner. I’m thinking it was a control arm, tie rod or something else in the suspension that broke. I could be wrong though.

Perhaps a puncture? The sparks might've come from the rims

Yeah he has. This is quite common actually since it does happen that you enter dead spots for team radio or the radio transmitter breaks
