- In Season 1 Episode 1 of Grudge Race TV we have Tom Bailey and his "Your Mom" 1969 Camaro up against Ryan Martin and his 2016 Camaro for a battle to see who is the fastest street legal Camaro in America.
The thing about Ryan Martin is he is very consistent, that what makes it hard to beat him on the street or the track

To really prove who is a street car. They need to entire drag week like Tom does every year.
Ryan does npk most of the season so that would make it kinda hard to do for him.npk pays more than any drag week could.
Ryan doesn't have time to and as much money as he makes npk racing he doesn't have time I'm sure if he had time he'd like to do some drag and drives definitely a old video with both of them running turbos though
in this video Tom is the only street car, Ryan couldn't street that setup even if he wanted to.

Tom's car is a promod, not a street car. Just because you can drive a car on the road doesn't make it a street car. It must adhere to certain rules

It is interesting. Tom's car is obviously a ProMod but has all the gear to drive a thousand miles on the street. Ryan has a more "stock" body, but is setup for racing only (I think). Lots of ways to get it done, and I'm here for all of it!

Both cars are amazing. Now for Martin to really prove his Camaro is a "street car" is to participate in a drag & drive event such as Drag Week or Sick Week.

We know Ryan Martin learned from Big Chief, if you let either one of those guys make a pass they will only be faster and straighter with every pass . It's a tuners game these days. It took Ryan Martin years of getting beat by Daddy Dave and Big Chief to be where he is today. Hats off to him and his team because he's that guy now and has been for the last 3 years running.
Truth be known Ryan built a few of the Street Outlaw gang's engines. If you go back and watch the first few SO videos you'll see and hear the guys talking about Ryan Martin and inviting him to join the 405 as a team member. Also you will see and hear the guys invite Jeff Lutz into the 405.
Looks like this originally aired October 2016, I would like to see a rematch now.

Toms car is extremely fast but Ryan's got it set up good I wanted to see this race for a long time great racing guys

As an Aussie I find this hilarious… Neither of these cars are STREET cars 🤣 Under Australian rules, one’s a promod and Ryan’s is classified as a doorslammer!!! Good fun video though 👍🏾
well idk if you realize this isn't in Australia jackass it's in the America where we have freedom and Tom's car is actually street legal here and does get drove regularly Ryan in the other hand has a full blown race car that might have a tag but dont have a drivetrain to allow him to run his longer then a few minutes

Of all the tracks this could have been at they go to Colorado at Bandamere where there's no air...I would like to see a redoo of this race now with Ryan having that Proline Hemi with that big 140+ Procharger but Bailey has that Steave Morris SMX now to it would be awsome to see.

@dapickle6128 yea thats the question huh cause Bailey has been having the worse time lining that car back out since it been redone since the fire..Ryan would have to be a couple tenths faster than Bailey cause his car is so long but Ryan 60fts so hard and so fast with that Procharger I'm not so sure Bailey could make it up but you never know thats why I would love to see it.
News Fact for Grudge Race TV fans. Tom would have advanced to the 2nd round, but thanks to a three race setup, Ryan Martin did what he always does. Improve his time by reading the track conditions and knowing the in's and out's of street racing. This was vintage Martin.
I'd like to see cars like Ron Rhodes 68 Camaro do this. If yall haven't heard of it. It's a leaf spring radial car with a small block running very low 4s in the 1/8 mile.
They’d need perfect radial prep to get the most out of it. But yeah she’s a beauty

It was a very good race but if I was Ryan I would of did a rerun because it would of been nice to see who really would of won with both cars on full power . It was also very nice of Tom to have his son there. God bless and congratulations. Both are excellent cars.
Dude, it's a TV show, he might have thrown the race knowing he couldn't run with Martin, and used an excuse rather than look bad forever on video. Just a guess because his car couldn't handle the power on his side of the track to run with Martin, once Martin had his data from the first race and turned his car up. , He knew that Martin would add more power for the final race, and his car was maxed out by the second race. I thought it a surprising result because the loser had a bigger engine and longer wheelbase, but it is tough to beat a track car only with a "dual purpose" car
Until ryan does and wins drag week Tom is the fastest street car period.

Toms car is a pro mod car it's built for the track Ryan's car still has factory wheelbase along with a lot of factory parts still on the car in my opinion Ryan has the fastest Camaro street car in the country

“Street car camaro” literally a promod, meanwhile the “pure bread race car” is steel roof and quarter and stock wheel base
It may be factory length, but it's tube chasis, motor is not in factory positioned, fiberglass front clip, weighs under 3,000 lbs, so it's still a pro mod
Some y'all may have realized it. This is a modern day version of PINKS. Except they're not racing for the other person's car. It's all pride and bragging rights here. Still a good show though. 💯

We're all such huge fans of Ryan but,,,,, Tom has been 5.99 @ 250mph. It happened during Drag Week 2019. The Beast Mode Camaro IS,, hands down the FASTEST and QUICKEST Camaro- IN THE WORLD.

You may be right, but it is about skill, and knowing your car and how to get your car down the track. Mr Bailey deals with to many different factors. Ryan Martin takes his car off the trailer to race, Mr Bailey has to take a trailer off his car to race. Big difference. And he still does a very good job.

The difference is that Ryan is the better racer! That pro-mod is a race car with a radiator driven on the street; it’s not a true street car regardless of the owner’s claims.
Thats how Ryan beats everybody cause he's so damn consistent with every single run I garuntee you is passes run damn near the same number every time..Thats why he's the three time NPK champ.

I'll be dammed. I didn't know Ryan Martins's car was built off a basic stock 2016 Camaro chassis. I've never heard of an actual time off of his car. Bailey can do a 99 but surely not there. I figure they are matched really close.

it's hard to mention shit when your calling your car a street car but cry about getting burned down Ryan cant run more then a few minutes before overheating tom can run all day and not get hot because it's set up to run on the street I like Ryan he is my favorite from the show but clean passes Ryan doesn't stand a chance your talking about a car that makes more power and a huge weight difference
