Joseph Dsouza , There were many budding music directors wanted to become assistants​ to GK Venkatesh because GKV was known for his creativity. He introduced western​ Orchestration for Indian ragas and also blended our folk music wonderfully in 1950s and 1960s itself .We can observe this in films like Bhagirathee ( old ), Kanyarathna , Kantherudu nodu, Govadalli CID 999, Trimoorthy, Bangarada manushya, Bhoothayana maga Ayuu., Kasturi nivasa, Darithappida maga,Antha etc. . GKV was the most versatile music director and had given music for all types of films like Social, mythological, historical​, Devotional etc. L Vaidyanathan, Ilayaraja, Shankar Ganesh, C Ashwath are all from GKV'S school of music. Unfortunately L Vaidyanathan died early. Noted music director Hamsalekha once in an Interview has said GKV is the most creative music director that India has seen. Unfotunately at that time there was no Publicity for music directors , that too Kannada music directors. But Kannadigas have aptly titled GKV as "SANGEETA SARVABHOUMA".
