@ParisFletcher ok, so I have a laptop, and if I plug a monitor into the HDMI port (witch is on the motherboard) I get no signal, so dose this apply to laptops? Also I have been getting some weird artifacting on my screen, plus it won't boot sometimes and just shows (of course with lines though it) "GPU Failure - Error 0x000000000". So do I need to use a USB port and an adapter or something?? *I am using this laptop to finish buying my house online, and if my laptop display quits, I will lose the house I already put a deposit on. (I'm joking, just a made up story. Hope you read this and don't waste your time actually telling me I have a iGPU that is completly F**ked...)
sounds like your games are using your igpu instead of your graphics card. I'd recommend searching google for something like "how to change default gpu in windows" that would be a good place to start
@@yeeterdeleter0117 look up your cpu and see if it has integrated graphics if it doesnt then thats the problem it only works with cpu that supports integrated graphics

THANK YOU SOO MUCH BRO!! Literally was having problems with mine, i thought it just had problems but nah just plugged it in the wrong area lol!! REALLY HELPEDD!!
I can't say thank you enough. I just moved and have been trying to use my CPU for weeks and couldn't recall how to plug in the cables. WOW. Thanks. It worked.
Side note: if you have an integrated gpu and you didn't install any software or no one set up the bios chances are you can still get video output and you will use your pc without knowing that you are not using your dedicated gpu but the integrated one.
This hurts to read, but it would mean the person using it doesn't need or have a powerful GPU, otherwise he would've noticed as soon as he she Googled why the 4090 he installed is preforming like a 710 :)
It depends, if your cpu doesnt have a igpu then you wont get an output. But if it does then it will, but it will be using your igpu for running your screen. It can still use you graphics card to play games while connected to motherboard display port, but you will notice that you have abit less fps then if you just plugged in directly to graphics card. Basically the graphics card is doing the work then sending off the result to your igpu, which then gets sent off to display. This is a feature for laptops that use dedicated gpu (mobile graphics card since a regular one wont fit) when plugged in or high battery and igpu when in powersaving mode

@@daazex69 isnt integrated graphics worse? is there any way to be able to use both on the gpu if theres only one port? like i have searched for it but i only find hdmi splitters that show the exact same thing on both monitors and dont extend it.
HOW DID SO MANY OF YOU MANAGE TO BUILD A PC AND NOT KNOW THIS?? (also clarification, you will get an output if you have an iGPU but you will get like 20-30 fps in games)
Correction: you CAN plug in your port into your motherboard and get a display output IF your Processor has Integrated Graphics, although it doesnt mean you'll get the maximum performance as any game you play will use the integrated graphics card from your Processor rather than your dedicated graphics card.
