These were absolutely everywhere in the mid-late '80s. Just part of the UK street furniture, along with Mk2 Cavaliers, Mk3 Escorts, Montegos, Astras and Maestros.
People were even judged on what trim-level their car was !
My dad had a 2.0 GL Sierra, so just escaped being branded a pauper. Not that he would have cared.

Yes, odd that Austin 1100s and Rover P6s still seem to be plentiful to buy but std Sierras, Montegos Maestros etc just gone.

Many Sierras were rep cars, so they were used and abused for 3-5 years then sold as cheap transport, with few bothering to invest in their maintenance.

So good to see a mk1 Sierra getting resurrected , I own a mk1 2.0 Ghia Sierra that was stuck in a lock up garage for 28 years , it took me from February 2022 until August 2022 to get it running and on the road , keep up the good work , these are great cars .

Now all it needs is a running heart. This kinda content is just what I like. 60 quid well spent, I prolly would've looked out for a oem ford alloy that needed a bit of tlc. But gotta say, the hubcaps suits it as is. You can get lost on these old cars. At the end of the day it's a 4-door sedan family car & to get it like motd etc .... Wouldnt waste any money on it. When it runs pass it on to someone who has a nostalgic heart for these models ... Nevertheless, great job in -1 degrees, freezin ya hands brrr. Its al for the algorythm & views ey ;) People have seen enough of fancy cars on youtube ... Gimme a beater, junker, shitbox, high milage etc

new viewer, really enjoying this series, would be good just to see you get this on the road for the bare minimum. dont worry about the dents, i really like to see real world classic cars, just being used like they would have been. full restore to factory does not do it for me (you would never want to drive it). sorts the little rust bits out, and touch up (try to keep org paint). well done, stand back and admire your work!!

Really nostalgic for me, as I passed my test in one of these (Y plate 1.6 GL) back in 1991 when I was 17. The Sierra still has an aesthetically pleasing shape IMO. A bit dated now but still a handsome car.
