Hello! Great fishing in beautiful places. Can I ask for advice? What rod weight is better for casting streamers for Hucho in Europe (Montenegro)? And what line setup? Thanks in advance!
Hey Bogdan! Thanks for watching! For hucho fishing it generally advisable to use rods 9-12#, as hucho streamers are big and heavy. When it comes to the fly line, it pretty much depends on the river and water structure. All the choices come then to two options: 1. Sinking line and light streamer or 2. floating line and weighted streamer. I personally prefer option 1, although in many occasions I wish I had floating line. My fly line is same class as the rod (#11), sinktip - 400 grains. When using a sinktip line, your tippet should not exceed ca 50 cm, as the Stremer has to be pulled down by the line. Hope this helps. Cheers Admir
