    Robert Reich is a national treasure, and though he gets smeared as a "liberal" he is actually middle-of-the-road on the American political spectrum on most issues much like Obama and Dubya for that matter, and as a professor wouldn't want his ideas nor him worshiped.

    I like Robert Reich and I agree with most of what he says. However, so far no one is putting his ideas to work. The Democrats are more concerned about social issues than they are with the economy.

      That is why I find it odd he is a Democrat. Democrats are terrible when it comes to the economy. Who are most Democrats? They are people who care about social issues and align with the party due to social views such as abortion and LGBT rights first and foremost, not economic/fiscal views. It is illogical to me for anyone to align with Democrats when it comes to economic/fiscal policy. However, I find Republicans to be insane when it comes to social policy so I cannot truly and fully support either party. Libertarian is the way to go. The big issue there is that there does not seem to be any reasonable candidates or base to rally alongside.

      musingmike88 I'm amazed at how people like you can OVERLOOK THE OBVIOUS!!!!
      Today's Global Debt Crisis was prompted by THE PRIVATE SECTOR, so all you complaints about "Democrats" are"bad for the economy" is such an old cliche it shows how INEPT YOU ARE!!
      When are you going to finally realize our enemies are BOTH PARTIES??!! When are you going to finally understand we ALL ARE LOSING OUR WORLD TO GREED?? We have a deeply flawed socio-economic system that allows individuals to earn and accumulate way more than they need to live comfortably, and accumulate enough to PURCHASE "ELECTED" OFFICIALS.
      You are clearly ignorant of some startling statistics showing red states being a lot more dependent on Federal Subsidies than blue States. In a few words so-called Liberal Democratic States PRODUCE MORE to pass on their surplus profits to so-called CONSERVATIVE STATES.
      This is a fact easily confirmed on line, so your premise is well off base.
      The Koch Brothers have learned to GAME THE SYSTEM by buying politicians on elections, and then demanding they become THEIR politicians passing laws that BENEFIT THEM, not the country. Personal greed has been a very bad promoter of justice and true benefit to society.
      You have to stop dividing the world between Reps and Dems because it is a lot more complex than that.

      ***** when the "economics" of a corrupt democracy [our Congress that decides legislation for USA is bought by the wealthiest, e.g., corporations hire lobbyists to bribe our congress to make decisions that make them wealthier, example in some states it is illegal for homeless to sleep on sidewalk outside/near their business b/c it negatively effects their business? ... [yet they'll do nothing to help the homeless epidemic]... OUR economy almost tanked because lobbyists [pacs] paid Congress to vote against 'policing' Wall Street -[calling it a 'free market' ... which allowed Mortgage Companies to sell predatory loans [resulting in millions loosing their home & tent cities popping up] - Social issues & Economics are directly linked. When out of balance, i.e., "injustices" in our economy [e.g., bribing politicians to vote for policies that benefit the wealthiest corporations] directly which indirectly effect 99% population in a negative way? Economics is this country can effects all social issues in either positive or negative ways... Today the effects are negative; high costs of college education, high cost of health care, low taxes on Billionaire/Millionaires, childcare cost not offered at most work places b/c biz profit is their main goal... on & on & on ... so my thought is that Democrats ARE concerned about the inequities in our country's Economy BECAUSE they effect us SOCIALLY -- Republicans are more concerned about economics because their goal in life is to become wealthy & control a society they believe has no values [they lie to themselves to do the immoral things they do]... their favorite MASK for this is one of "Religion" ...[the Religious Right]. They pretend to care so much about Religion & family values [which is a total lie to hide what evil things they do - especially in Congress by stealing our Democracy from 99% Americans ... they seem to have very little empathy for anyone that hasn't "made it" in this country --- even though they keep making it harder & harder for us to do

      No, I would vote for you Chris.... to give you the chance to make history, as Marie Antoniet did in France, and be the first royalty to be passed through the Guillotine when the time is ripe.

    This is a man that I always admired he worked under President Biden. He’s an awesome man professor. I love this lecture, but you have to get by the beginning, which is not as good as his rest of his speech. Listen when you have a chance. Love you.

    Wow Robert Reich gets $250.000 to teach one class at UC Berkeley. That is $6,000 an hour. This at the same time they are again jacking up tuition.

    • @musingmike88
      @musingmike88 9 лет назад +2

      Tuition will always go up year to year due to inflation. Attending a UC for roughly 14k a year is NOTHING compared to attending a private university and you will receive a far better education than most private universities as well. Don't gripe. You could always attend a CSU.

    • @mr.mohagany8555
      @mr.mohagany8555 9 лет назад +5

      KongSunWu Seems fairly reasonable. People with a lifetime of real-world experience in multiple presidential administrations aren't exactly in abundant supply. Compare that $250,000 to, say, a maintenance worker who makes $25,000 a year - Reich makes about 10 x's higher. But the average CEO of a large corporation makes 350 times that of the average worker. This really seems like a reasonable pay for a highly qualified professor at one of the nation's top universities.
      It's the taxation rate on the wealthy that needs to be raised, not the faculty's pay that needs to be lowered, to insure that public institutions can be well funded.

      Hmmm, but he lectures on income inequality.

      KongSunWu That's a bad comparison since Bill Cosby was never proven to have raped anyone.

    College is a ludicrous waste of money. Robert Reich. This school should by no means be respected. Tear down my eye. When it comes to work he is willing to battle it out. look at him run 2 miles in 10 minutes. He can read, spell, do math, read graphs but no cant get the grade. Cant get the fucking grade! Work so hard. Can't get the grade in school. I think school should be abolished. You people aren't very fair now are you. I AM BETTER THAN ANDY! I tell any college graduate get your degree the fuck out of my face. O so your better than me with your given degree that i automatically cant have. I am disgusted. I AM ANGRY AT HUMAN SOCIETY. I live with the permanent sting of some college. This isn't how good of a person I
