Every child should plant a tree, bush, flowers or vegetables with a parent of teacher.
It will help connect them to nature and the environment.

When you work all day outside the last thing you want to do is waste your free time spending any more time outside.
The vice versa is also true. When you work all day inside with air conditioning you might be itching to get outside

If you have children get them involved in gardens.
If your gardens have trouble add pollinator friendly plants near or in vegetable garden.
We add zinnias and wild flower mix to our vegetable gardens. Also we add pollinator plants near or under fruit trees.
It has gave us more success in or gardens productions.also for pest we get 2 praying mantis egg cases for eating the bad bugs then Neem oil is good to make bad bugs go away.

Spring ephemerals like columbine and bluebells are good. For shrubs consider buttonbush, spicebush, and mountain laurel.

    Pretty sure that's not,
"Asclepias tuberosa, commonly known as butterfly weed, is a species of milkweed native to eastern and southwestern North America.[2] It is commonly known as butterfly weed because of the butterflies that are attracted to the plant by its color and its copious production of nectar."
