- Kris Kristofferson Tribute
It was my mum who got me into music. My Dad was more interested in the gadgets that played the music (my love of gadgets is from him).
My Mum loved singer-songwriters, in the 70s it was Country and Western, her fave was Kris Kristofferson.
As she found more about him she became a fan of Johnny Cash, The Highwaymen, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Bonnie Raitt and Bruce Springsteen etc. She also travelled to Nashville such was her love for music after my Dad passed away.
My two sons love singer-songwriters and for my mums funeral, we recorded a version of 'Desperados Waiting for a Train' by the Highwaymen. You can hear this at the end of the video.

I just saw the headline of Kris Kristofferson passing away
he has been a favorite of mine for years as a singer, songwriter,
musician and a film actor as well R.I.P. Kris.🎶🎸🎸🎶
Lovely version of the song at the end. A talented family👍 . My favourite Kristofferson track was always "Sunday Morning Coming Down".
thank you Phil ... lovely tribute to a highly intelligent singer / songwriter [and so much more] ... I saw him in concert at a packed Music Hall in Aberdeen a few years back [went on a whim] ... just him, a mic, acoustic guitar, his stories and his voice ... it was a great night and I was genuinely surprised by the number of songs that I actually knew ... and, well, the lyrics are so well done ... this opening verse being just the tip of a great iceberg to explore ...
Well, I woke up Sunday mornin'
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad
So I had one more for dessert
Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes
And found my cleanest dirty shirt
Then I washed my face and combed my hair
And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day
Just an epic song
Thank you ... CMcG, Aberdeen, Scotland
Heartfelt and genuine as ever, Phil. You are not afraid to open up and we are the beneficiaries. So thank you again. Best wishes, Paul.
A lovely tribute including the song at the end - you clearly have a very talented and musical family around you.
Touching. Thanks.
