This video is a prime example of why they aren't used all the time. It got punished SOOOOO many times. Y'all may find not using some tools boring but at high level play you will not get away with it a lot. Air fireball is good but you need good spacing for it and demon flip seems more likely to have better use after light tatsu for oki
I imagine OD zanku from a neutral jump is a better option. Yeah no one is getting away with flip in neutral, I figured it would only be useful as oki.
Akuma doesnt have demon flip throw anymore.Thats a big change.
Honestly, Chris hardly punished Air Fireball in my honest opinion. Despite it being more consistent, OD Shoryu is a waste of bar, vs run shoryu, which IS A bit reactive, but does exactly what you need it to, without the use of bar.

question from someone who doesnt play st, how long does it usually take for a player like mena and tokido to master a new character?
It just depends on the person tbh. Knowing their skill level I’d say a complete mastery or the character would be 4-5 weeks if all they’re playing is that new character.
If by master you mean the rank then literally less than 8 hours lol. But if you mean complete control ima say a month or so.
To reach the rank of Master, a few hours. To actually Master a character, about a month
These are top players and I would say 3 weeks and they will be tourney ready
