    Thanks
    I tested out the bottle knot in a scenario where you need a rope to climb or repel down, but you also need to take your rope with you. I found out a smaller rock works better. This may be useful if you’re camping or hiking.

    I know you said not to use this for safety reasons but I am still gonna use it (just to test) but if I get hurt I promise I won't tell the doctor it was you. You're safe bro 💪

    This is a neat knot and this channel is great at creating new rope and cord techniques, but absolutely under no circumstances should anyone put full body weight on this knot or use it where a fall could cause injury. Do NOT use this for rappelling!

    Love your creative and often unconventional solutions, but this is the most irresponsibly dangerous application of knots I've seen in a long time.
    There are tested, secure ways of retrieving your rope after rappeling.
    With your knot people would be literally pulling a rock towards themselves, along with all kinds of debris the rock will collect on its way.
    There are also many situations where you are unloading your rope while still on rappel, which would lead to your anchor undoing itself while you're only halfway down.

    Hey jerri I’ve been watching for a few years and I’ve definitely learned some very useful things
    I’d like to make a suggestion maybe you could make a video about rope and cordage what’s more friendly for tying knots and what’s stronger these types of things???

    In my testing a directional figure 8 works just as well. I think doing this allows for easier release but I'm not sure how desirable that is.

    Hi, thanks for the videos.
    But for what would you use this knot?? I'm a climbing arborist and can't think of a situation where it could be useful 🤷
    Looking forward to a solution, maybe I'll learn something new.

    What are some good ways to take up slack or secure extra rope after tying stuff down, like on a roof rack? I worry about 10 ft of bitter end cord just flapping behind my car on the highway, and was wondering if you had any better ideas for me other than doing a figure 8 wrap then tying it off =/

    I saw Bear Grylls tie a Kamakazi knot, sacrifices a few ft of line. But its a Sheep Shank but you cut one strand. It seemed sketchy, but worked...for the cameras!
    Would you revisit that...in real life?

    Any ideas for using 550 paracord for loosening something like a stainless steel Igloo style 25-30oz water bottle? My parents often times come home to the cap being really tight somehow and they have to use a large wrench to unscrew it because it doesn't have a friendly handle for this scenario. They only store water or tea (both cold) in it, so I don't think it's related to the contents creating a sticky grip on the seal. The seal is metal and shouldn't be getting hot enough to worry about thermal expansion. Differential pressure also isn't a problem because the small nozzle can be removed exposing a hole to drink from or fill up with.
    I've tried using a constrictor hitch around the lid and even while pulling both sides, it still ends up slipping around the smooth lid. I don't think the lid has enough surface area to use a double constrictor hitch without slipping up to the nozzle and TERRIBLY thin handle (which is also bent due grips we've used in getting a tight lid off). There are no attachment points anywhere to take advantage of, so friction hitches are the only idea I've tried with the constrictor being the best I can think of since it grips so well.
    Also, happy birthday Jeri.

      @neo123rej 11 месяцев назад

      Try a balloon (empty) on/around the cap. Maybe just the balloon will be enough, maybe in combination with a friction hitch like you described. The rubber of the balloon will add a lot more friction on the cap. (Or anything rubbery, maybe nitrile glove?)

    • @neo123rej
      @neo123rej 11 месяцев назад

      all though I think the glove might slip sooner than the balloon. But you get the idea :)
