I know nothing about audio and midi. I’m a gaffer so I know lighting. I’m trying to get midi to trigger looks within blackout. I don’t know where to start. How is midi connected to the iPad? Are there adapters from midi connectors to usb? How do you assign a midi tone to trigger a look change?
Midi is connected to the iPad through a USB cable and a USB-C hub. The device with the faders is outputting it's midi signals through the USB-B port on the back, not through the Midi 5 pin port. You can use apps like MidiWrench to check and see if the Midi is being received on the iPad from the USB hub. You can assign different Midi key presses to different virtual buttons in Blackout Next.
Nice setup and demo
Just picked up an x touch second hand, can’t wait to get amongst all of this. Cheers for the video man.
Happy to hear. Join the facebook group if you haven't already to stay up to date with resolving issues we come across with wireless lighting control.
