The collectibles for miner and botanist make gatherer leveling totally negligible. You make about 9 million+ XP for each every hour or so just exclusively going for timed nodes

@@MagiRaz It's a whole system for crafting and gathering, you craft items that are called collectables and gather items that have like a rating, the higher that is the more xp you get for it along with scripts which you can buy stuff for your crafters/gatherers. Best just look up a tutorial video cant really explain it here xD

THIS!! You got the point. Fur Daddy makes THE big mistake: he assumes that one thing is free if it doesn't cost money directly BUT forget to put the TIME you invest to get that into the equation. So you can say they are free if you value your time at ZERO. Since you are *not* forced to do FATEs you have to spend time farming them. What else could you do in that time? And what is the most profitable way to spend that time? These are the right questions if you want to speak about "free" leveling or "profitable" leveling. This is what I do : I use my gemstone to buy the most expensive items that I resell on the MB and then buy the mats I need to level my crafting professions. A lot of check on Universalis and some Excel sheets are mandatory, but definetely way more profitable.
After unlocking some of the level 3 fates I can confirm the crafting mats are in these first tier of fates only. The higher priced gemstone items in this xpac are orchestrion rolls, furniture and minions.

so you can level your crafter "in hours" by getting items that require 2 bicoored gemstones each? lets sy you need 100 times... thats 200 bicolored gemstones, thats 100-200 fates.... fates lone can take up to 5 m ins each if theres no many ppl there.... what part of doing a million fates is fast?
For the basic crafter ingots, bars, leather, thread/cloth, and lumber. I like hand crafting them as you get higher experience hand craft versus auto mass craft. Only have 4 for crafting, but you can get high quality even using the Level 80 script gear. Just have to use your skills intelligently. Also, weekly I use the turn ins with the custom turn-in people (whom I look for bonuses for what I plan on leveling at the time). Do the bonuses first, then worry about any other crafting you want. Plan out Experience and scripts, don't want to max out scripts and lose scripts to spend on stuff like gear, materials, and materia. Especially as each craft/gather job has its own gear set this expansion. Custom craft will pay back what you spent on the materials from vendor and plus a little extra. If you get the material to make the material for crafting what you need for the delivery, I think you may get experience for that, but don't quote me on that. I've been only getting the direct craft materials.
I just spent the time gathering materials to craft 100 of 1 collectable from 81 to 85 recipes and turned em' in. Got one of my crafters to 90, currently working on the next that had me gather 2000+ raw materials to craft 100 of one collectable for that crafter.

Just finished MSQ yesterday. First step now, get my gatherers leveled. Have to run so many fates, though. I'll be using my leves on crafting. Gather is easy to level through time collectibles. Got miner to 90 in a couple hours.

been farming [redacted] in a later zone and making it into stage 2 for exp and then sold it for 5000 gil each ;) made nicely around 2mio gil so far and my weaver is at 87 with white crap gear
macro have exactly 15 lines so i cant put an extra line [/micon "Moon gel" item] to have the right icon on the hotbar, 0/10 literally unplayable. Jokes aside tysm for the video and the macros !! I only recently started giving crafting a try and your videos really helped me getting started ! tyvm !!
Your 70-80 guide is no longer valid. It will cost 10's of millions of gold to get up to 80. I was in the middle of following your guide and I have 3 jobs still to get to 80. The items cost more than 100k each on MB. None of the macros or suggested gear will craft these pieces at HQ either. Just an FYI.
Been watching your video's, on bicolor gems, could you please tell us where I can use them to purchase ores, ingots, plates etc as of writing this I noticed it's mostly just skins for leatherworking

However, what you don't consider is the fact that you COULD be selling these mats on the MB, that is the opportunity cost of using the material yourself. Whether you collect the mats yourself or buy them, the cost (or the opportunity cost) is still there. It is never free.
Sure, you could be selling these mats on the MB but that defeats the purpose of this video. It's leveling not making money as it's main priority. And the stuff you make can be sold as well.

yeah I did onee of those nodes by luck, it almost gave me a full level after turning in a 1000 rated onee think i had 3 or 4 of them.
