    I lived about 500 yards away at 190 Leeds Road when this happened.

    Wow I never knew about this. Thank God no lives were lost but it is a tragedy nonetheless.
    This puts us in mind of the West Virginia coal mines, which, like other industry, are necessary. Where do you think Iwould get a computer if it were not for some kind of mining? You know, there needs to be a reasonable balance. On the other hand, it does cause pollution and environmental harm. Neither side can be denied.
    I also recall having read or heard somewhere on RUclips here that the first secular use of the word "pollution" in the English language was by the daughter of the Dean of Lichfield Cathedral whose name I cannot recall. She wrote some sort of essay, this back about 150 years ago during the Industrial Revolution.
