Hace mucho que desaparecimos y no saben lo bien que hemos estado estos últimos tiempos.
La montaña rusa de ser padres nos tiene a flor se piel, y más aún con esta fecha tan especial que finalmente llegó en un abrir y cerrar de ojos: el primer añitos de nuestra bella hija, Vera.
No voy a negar que era una fecha que me tenía muy nerviosa ya que los festejos por estos pagos son bastante extensos y extravagantes, todo lo contrario a lo que somos nosotros.
Pero como siempre, la mente es traicionera y el dia que pasamos aquel 22 de Julio fue perfecto, a nuestra manera.
Les dejo un poco de contexto para que entiendan el video.
Es tradición bautizar a los bebes en su primer año de vida. El cumple de Vera fue un Sábado y nos vino genial para hacer ambos eventos: bautismo por la mañana, cumpleaños por la tarde.
🕯 Bautismo:
- todo el protocolo se hace tres veces, pues en la religión cristiana ortodoxa, esto hace referencia a la Santa Trinidad.
- El hombre que tiene a Vera en brazos es el ‘kum,’ o el padrino, uno de los mejores amigos de Jovan y el es el padrino de su hijo, que lo ven al lado de su mamá. Al kum se le otorgo ese paño blanco con una imagen que luego nos la regalaron a nosotros.
- el cura nos pidió traer una toalla y una prenda de Vera. Esto fue para bendecirlas y que Vera las use de pijamas esa noche.
- el bautismo en si fue mojarle los piecitos y con ese ramito, también la frente.
- y esta parte me aterrorizaba un poco pero no fue para tanto: cortarle unos mechoncitos de pelo. Esto hace referencia a que ‘Dios se quitó una costilla para crear al hombre.’ Pues nada, el pelito lo pusieron en una cajita y nos lo dieron para tenerlo en casa.
Cuestion es que la ceremonia duro una hora aproximadamente y el cura fue muy atento para conmigo y mi madre, dandole espacio a Jovan para que nos traduzca y al final, le dedico unas palabras y envio saludos a Argentina. El resto del día siguio llenandose de amor, risas, buena comida y no tanto estres. Vera la paso genial y eso era lo que más nos importaba.Gracias por disfrutar con nosotros. Hasta la próxima! 🤗💓

It's been a long time since we disappeared and we can't explain how great it's been lately.
The roller coaster of parenthood has us on edge, and even more so with this very special date that finally arrived in the blink of an eye: the first year of our beautiful daughter, Vera.
I am not going to deny that it was a date that made me very nervous since the celebrations for this occasion tends to be quite extensive and extravagant, the exact opposite of what we are.
But as always, the mind is treacherous and the day we spent on July 22 was perfect, in our own way.
Here's a little context for you to understand the video.
It is tradition to baptize babies in their first year of life. Vera's birthday was on a Saturday and it was great for us to do both events: baptism in the morning, and birthday in the afternoon.
🕯 Baptism:
- The entire protocol is done three times because in the Orthodox Christian religion, this refers to the Holy Trinity.
- The man who has Vera in his arms is the 'kum,' or godfather, one of Jovan's best friends and Jovan is the godfather of his son, who is seen next to his mother. The kum was given that white cloth with an image that was later given to us.
- The priest asked us to bring a towel and one of Vera's pieces of clothing. This was to bless them and for Vera to wear them as pajamas that night.
- The baptism itself was basically wetting her feet and with that twig, also the forehead.
- And this part terrified me a bit but it wasn't that bad: cutting off a few locks of hair. This refers to the fact that 'God removed a rib to create man.' Finally, they put her little hair in a box and gave it to us to keep at home.
The ceremony lasted about an hour and the priest was very attentive to me and my mother, gave Jovan space to translate for us, and at the end, he dedicated a few words to her and sent greetings to Argentina. The rest of the day continued to be filled with love, laughter, good food, and not so much stress.
Vera had a great time and that was what mattered most to us.
