Got the black one, very nice watch! Only pet peeve is that the lume is slightly yellowish, but i got over that pretty quick. Its so extremely verstatile and a strap monster. love it! Btw the crown was very tight the turn at first but it got easier with time.
I have the same compliant about lume on so many watches, I hate when it looks yellow, but I think that is just the nature of it in most cases. Glad you are enjoying yours :)
That Red kamasu i bought last year & it gets more wrist time than the rest ! constantly changing from nato to leather to sharks mesh,i love it. only niggle is the crown being a bit fiddly but since i regulated it (+1/ +3) there's not much need to fiddle but a great looking watch & good value f money,+good luck with the channel.👍
I have noticed the crown is a bit fiddly, but it is still running great, and no real problems other than it is just a bit loose when unscrewed. I hadn't thought to try it on shark mesh but I bet that would look really cool! Thank you for the comment :)
New to the channel. I just pulled the trigger yesterday and picked up the red dial. Your review helped me not regret it! I think I overpaid though (in Canada: $360 cdn). Ah well!
@@hotdogsbeer8255 I have a 7 inch wrist and it wears really well--more like a 40mm watch (that's on the thicker side/heavier side) than a 42 mm. It wears slightly smaller than the dimensions suggest.
I have the green and rose gold 5KX, its beautiful and I kind of baby it (thats how much i love it)...im now looking at this Kamasu as a daily beater. thanks for the vid
I got the 5kx orange its a great watch, then i was thinking about getting an orient kamatsu but then i found the seiko king samurai save the ocean manta.... i got the manta and its amazing.
Oh nice! I have had my eye on that one. I love the King Samurai, sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel on a Samurai has been a long time coming. Also the dial on the manta one looks unreal. Enjoy it!
Nice job reviewing. Waiting on mine from Orient USA. Until then I have to satisfy my lust by watching reviews, lol. FYI, for anyone interested Orient has a nice holiday promotion across their line.
Just Watches, Red naturally, I just couldn’t resist. It’s the first watch I’ve bought in quite some time and my first Orient. Again, nice job on your review, and I’ve watched quite a few. 👍🏻
Great question, I would say my expertise is more in the sub-$300 range, and I wouldn't ever recommend something I haven't actually handled before. If I had to recommend something I have owned in that price range it would be the Seiko Sarx055, or the black dial verson the Seiko Sarx057. Happy Hunting!
@@JustWatches1 hey thanks for that, and only reason I asked is because I purchased the timepiece and I wanted to order a protective film for the sapphire, dang OCD😅
@@ryanp5995 OCD and interest in watches go hand in hand lol - you honestly probably won't need it though, very difficult to scratch a sapphire crystal.
@@malcior6465 fair enough, I baby most of my watches, but I know many people like to wear them all the time (I always switch to a dedicated watch when I'm doing heavy work).
I just got my Blue Kamasu (Ka-mah-sue) yesterday. It’s +2 sec for 12/hrs so I’m guessing it’s a +4 sec/day? It’s my first automatic so I’m not sure how to measure that without equipment. I used the hacked second hand on 12 and just pushed the crown in the exact second the time changed on my iPhone. Nice watch
The timegrapher isn't as important as the performance on wrist, which is what really matters. Sounds like it is doing great at +4 seconds a day. Enjoy it :)
I’ve got the green version biggest let down is the very bad crown action on it nothing like the Ray/Mako that’s why you see them on eBay with the broken crown syndrome I wouldn’t buy another because of it and I really like the Red
If a sapphire crystal is important to you and you want something in a more classic size with more classic styling, the Kamasu. If you don’t mind a hardlex crystal and the bigger size, I think the Samurai is very unique and has more character.
I had the Kamasu, didn’t like the yellow hour markers against the red dial, the thick case, the weight, the grindy feel of the crown winding and the stiffness of the bevel. Oh ya, crown too small.
That sunburst burgundy dial is gorgeous!
Thank you, it is very unique, you don't see many dials this color!
i also have the red dial kamasu. i bought mine jdm. i really like it. the dial is very pretty
I actually sold this and miss it. I'm considering re-acquiring it :P

Amazing watch! That dial is so gorgeous 😍 🍒 cherry red I love it! Just bought mine recently and I’m just waiting for it to arrive. Nice video!
Good choice! Let me know your impressions when you receive it, I think you will like it very much!
Same here I’ve been waiting for Black Friday sale … In Canada they go as high as $665 Cdn but I got mine for way less from Orient U.S.A
My favorite watch in my collection...with red Nato..Wow!
This is a fantastic watch, glad you are enjoying it!
I like the hour markers of this Kamasu.
Agree, they are pretty unique!
i know I'm pretty off topic but do anyone know of a good place to stream new series online?
@Dax Zavier i use Flixzone. You can find it on google :)
@Rylan Emery yup, I have been watching on flixzone for since march myself =)
@Rylan Emery Thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service =) I appreciate it!
can't decide if I'm going with this red dial or the teal 😅
Difficult choice, but you can't go wrong either way!
I've been trying to decide between those two for months 🤦🏿
@@rtime4269 Same but I got black in the end 🤷🏻♂️
I have the teal and i absolutely adore it

Mesmerizing red dial- have one on the way. Will try it on a rubber tropic strap 👌
So funny you say that. I just put it on a tropic rubber strap a few days ago and it really makes the red pop!

Thank you for syncing the time on these guys... that would drive me nuts
Same and you are welcome haha!
Tried it and it looked a bit undersized on my 7.5 inch wrist, thanks for the video
Check out the Triton, bigger Orient watch and the older ones are really cool!
I love mine in green but the only big problem for me is the bazel, it scratches insanely easy.
I had to go double check mine for scratches. Didn't notice any yet, but I will keep an eye out for that issue.
The Kamasu absolutely deserves a ceramic Bezel are you listening Orient??
Orient faz lindo e ótimos relógios . Sou fã. Orient Netuno 469SS073 D1SX é lindo.
Eu concordo, eu não consegui lidar com um Netuno no metal antes, mas parece muito legal. (from Google Translate, hope it makes sense :))

Checkout Oris Big Crown. Blue dial or black dial are awesome
I love my blue dial kamasu ...it's awesome watch ....
Agree, enjoy it :)
The Kamasu or the Ray ii are both solid divers. The difference is minimal
Yes, can't go wrong with either one :)
Bought one in Blue on a Silicone strap for 159 $. Now considering getting the Red for myself.Found it for 193$ not sure should I pull the trigger.
The price seems to fluctuate quite a bit. Hard to say!
Great review!, definitely going to be picking one up, by any chance do you know the size of the sapphire crystal?

Yes, I hope they redesign the case slightly to have a better crown set up in the future. I'm just careful when I screw it down and so far so good :)
Look at the movement, Kamasu has a plastic movement holder, but Mako and Ray have a metal movement holder. Cost down obviously.
Interesting observation, I haven't opened either.
Red Kamasu vs Seiko Samurai (SRPD09) - since you reviewed both which would you recommend?
If a sapphire crystal is important to you and you want something in a more classic size with more classic styling, the Kamasu. If you don’t mind a hardlex crystal and the bigger size, I think the Samurai is very unique and has more character.
Finally found the red one on Jomashop for 199. ordered on 01/03/2021. now it's still back ordered. trying to be patient. ugh
Oh dang what a bummer - it will be worth the wait!
Nice review. Thank you.
Thank you for watching :)
Seiko who? Love that red starburst 😍
Exactly. Orient is the new Seiko :)
Do you think it's too big for a 61/2 in wrist ?
I don't it is too big. The lug to lug is short enough that I don't think it would overhang.
Since the release the prices have gone up .
Bummer :(

When lume is sort of yellow I also dislike that. Someday, I wish they would make a bigger crown version of it!
Yes, I know, I own it. Great timepiece.
Right on!
I don't like the hour hand nor the day/date complications. Looks too cluttered in my opinion.
I love day date complications in general, but I agree, they often detract from the dial.
