- This video is to explain the importance of having a boarding ladder on your boat. In the video I show how I installed my YaeMarine 3 step ladder on the transom of my boat. Your boat may require different mounting techniques, verify with an authorized dealer before purchase and installation.
Thanks for the video. I'm looking to do the same thing since I fish alone and Lake Meredith can get pretty windy. I found it super ironic that the search term "add a ladder to bassboat" found me a video with the same background image as where I fish 😂
Maybe I’ll see ya out there!!
Thanks for the video!!👍 I'm trying to come up with ladder ideas that will work for my 1995 Lund fishing boat.. also when we're in the middle of the lake, the kids like to jump in and swim around.. and have you considered doing a part two showing how to get in the boat using that ladder?
Just waiting for an opportunity to throw one of the grandkids in as a demonstration😂, thanks for watching
@@DoubleTFishing I want to do the same thing with my grandkids, !hahaha!
Looks like you have a nice shop to work in.👍
Yes sir my wife daughter and I built it. I did have the foundation and slab poured for me. Mueller big barn kit 2000sq ft, thanks
I tried to get out on the water to make a good video on distance from waypoint like you suggested using a couple crappie marker bouys but had 30mph and 20mph winds. I’ll have to do that one later
@@DoubleTFishing that's too bad. I went ice fishing last night and got skunked. But had enough ice to drive on so took my 5year old daughter out today and sat her on my lap and she drove around on the lake and did a few doughnuts.
Awesome doing doughnuts on the ice!! Like it
Or use the cavitation plate on the motor as a foot perch to help lift yourself into the rear of your boat, option....
Yes you sure can. Mine is pretty narrow on the 40hp. Thanks for watching and have a great day!!!
Can you please supply the link for this ladder in the video. My Google search isn’t coming up with it

The one I used is no longer available but this one looks the same
Awesome. Thanks for the link
Nice video!.... Where did you get the ladder?... Thanks!
Got it from Amazon
do you have quick release nuts n bolts to put on when on the water or do you need to wrench?
It just slides in and out of the bracket, so I just reach in grab it and slide it into the bracket, thanks for watching!!
Now that you have had the ladder a while how is it? Do you have a link for your ladder you could give. Has it been enough with three steps or would you rather it be a four step? Thanks for the video.
To be honest I only tried it once, installed it for emergencies, much easier than climbing up the motor. The 3 step seemed fine on my boat. Thanks
How did the ladder work? Was it sturdy? Looking to order the same one wasn’t sure on build quality
Yes the quality is good, thanks for watching!!
I can’t find it on Amazon (says it’s unavailable)
That’s odd it showed up as an Amazon prime item in my app just now?

YaeMarine 3 Steps Boat Marine Sport/Diver Ladder Stainless Steel Dual Vertical Telescoping Tube with 2.56" Transom Mounting Extension Shim and Mounting Screws(3 Step Ladder)
Have a great day
surely its a good idea to drill holes at the waterline... not
Mine are above the waterline but I’ve drilled a few below for things like the transducer with sealant. The factory messed up on my livewell outlet hole below water and I took on water up to my shoes on the maiden voyage, first thing I added was an auto switch on my bilge pump😃
You need to show us how it works on the water. I think when you climb out of the water you will swamp the boat. I dont think it will work.
Maybe sometime when the water warms up lol, I’ve stood on the corner with the motor trimmed out of the water inspecting the prop for damage without taking on water, I wouldn’t argue you might take on some water for a few seconds
Thank you for the videos by the way. Helped me a lot on my 93sv. I have a question about your ladder you put on the back of your aluminum boat. Has it held up good. Is there any stress to the aluminum? Thanks again.
Only actually used it once, I put it on more for an emergency. My transom is double wall so it’s sturdy, thanks for watching
@@DoubleTFishing thanks for taking the time to reply. You seem to have a boatload of knowledge. No pun intended.
😂😂
Who’s the manufacturer of the ladder and or model number?
I got it off Amazon from YeaMarine but it shows unavailable from them. It looked like XK Marine PN B08Z39R1XY is in stock (same product). Search telescope boat ladder or dive ladder. Have a great day Joe!!
I put a folding transom ladder on my Lund 14" SSV. I'm solo most of the time and it is a good safety addition.
Thanks for the comment Vern, have a great day!!!
What type of ladder did you use? I have a WC(similar boat).
@GerGa769 I got mine from Amazon, it’s not offered any longer but there are similar types listed
@@DoubleTFishing Thanks is it the kind that has a hinge that screws to the top side and folds up? Or removable?
@GerGa769 I used a removable type like in the video
