Reason for removing this scene I think is because removing this scene has made the story more grounded and relatable, I think Jaanu is a Jaanaki fan who has never met Jaanaki in real life, like everyone of us. And in reality it's very very rare Jaanaki Amma would take in two strangers inside her house in midnight and give singing lectures unless they're actually Vijay Sethupathy and Trisha, I'm happy they removed this scene and let Ram and Jaanu be more real.

Which is why lots of people who watched this film couldn’t come out of it for weeks.
one of the good things about this movie was that it was realistic, with a lot of emotion. Janaki amma did a great job in this scene, but I think it was important for the overall theme and mood of the movie to not leave this scene in the movie.
