You are always inspiring and soothing. I can’t imagine life without books - they’re gorgeous in every respect. And I love that “bookish” in the thumbnail looks like a crown😊
Hi Molly, i just had to pause the video to scour my shelves for recommendations for you! Bookworm is one of my favourite books in the world - i found it so life changing; it was the impetus I needed to realise that children's books aren't just for children, *i* can read and love them too! Some books I love that I think you'll really enjoy are The Essex Serpent, anything by Clare Chambers, Longbourn by Jo Baker, The Pull of th Stars, The Temple House Vanishing, and Bitter Orange by Claire Fuller 😊
Oh Molly, you inspire me so much, ive just downloaded the The Silence Factory from the library, cant wait to listen to it.Thank you for such a lovely vlog as always, they always feel like you are here and we are chatting over tea.x
I've never commented before but I just want to tell you that I love your channel. You love everything I do... Books and a simple life. Sending love and gratitude to you for your beautiful content. Greetings from Massachusetts. 🥰❤️🤗
I’ve just finished reading The List of Suspicious Things which I think you would enjoy. Another book I think you might like is Still Life by Sarah Winman which is one my favourites. Lovely bookish vlog as always. Very comforting to watch on a dreich winter’s day. 👏
I just got Bookworm from the library an e-book on Libby. Thank you for the recommendation. My book club read The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue in November, most of us liked it
I’m afraid m not a reader, but just love watching you and Skye anyway! But I am a big tea drinker, so we have that in common 😁 The Twinings Glow is what I start the day with every day 😍
Yes, when u get that type of slump with novels/fiction stories I always always go back to classics and you can never ever go wrong with a classic for a great story, meaning, writing style. So read one classic a month - something I did last year and it worked great. So memorable. They can get tiring if reading more and more often and do need a rest with something other than, which is hard to find these days (a good novel), not much will compare. In those cases I go back to the authors I love and pick one of their novels, that also works great.
I loved The Girl of Ink and Stars. I have a few "issues" with it, but overall really did like it. Have now added Bookworm to my want to read list (you are terrible for my attempt to reduce my to read list 😉🤭). I live next to the River Tay (the desk I'm working from looks over the river), and it is terrifying how high and fast it has been lately. I'm lucky though, after what happened in 2023, they are making sure to keep all the flood gates closed. Hope you are safe. x
Frieda McFadden’s books are what I’m binging at the moment. Lots of twists! Quick easy, reads and absolute page turners. Also Riley Sager books are incredible…it seems that perhaps something supernatural is going on but it’s not, also full of twists and definite page turners. His book “The Only One Left” was so so good!
Oh no, I unhauled The Binding when I was decluttering last year. Now I want to read it and The Silence Factory. My favourite book of 2024 was The Glassmaker by Tracy Chevalier. Skims over the years with the same characters from 1486 at key times in Venice history to the present day (like Addie LaRue but better IMO). I am also continuing with the excellent Louise Penny series set in Three Pines. Happy reading 📚
Thoroughly enjoyed this bookish vlog (always a favourite of mine!) Really hoping you get a chance to read the Kiran Millwood Hargrave book - her writing is just phenomenal! Highly recommend The Mercies by her as well as The Dance Tree and I have heard nothing but great things about her middle grade books. Happy reading! 🙂
Nice vlog Molly! I haven't read as much as I would like this month because I've got too much on my plate right now, but as a bookworm myself I do understand the pleasure of immersing into a book. I have read the Binding...not bad but not my cup of tea either. Unlike you, I underwent the opposite process: I tended to read things that were not up my street just to broaden my horizons. Now I couldn't be bothered to read things that don't align with my taste. Since I read a lot for work, probably to keep reading enjoyable in my private I just need to go to my favourite places, if you get what I mean. Addie Larue was really good but I agree with you about the lenght and Henry. ❤😊 wish u a lovely week
I always enjoy your reading vlogs and your reading recommendations - I immediately go onto our library website and put holds on the books I'm interested in! I'm also a keen writer and find reading essential to my writing practice. I'm interested to read "Bookworm" as I'm venturing to write some children's fiction
I was really struck by your phrase "reading bravely" because it reminded me of a book I read about 4 years ago called "The Year of Reading Dangerously" by Andy Miller. An author himself but also a literary editor, he became aware of gaps in his literary knowledge given his occupation. He is brutally honest in his opinions of some classics but it's always interesting to know what drives us to read and what literary paths we pursue. Loved the video.
Have you read Peter May's Lewis series? Crime / thriller / mystery set on Lewis and packed with island history. I'm half way through book 3 right now and have enjoyed all 3 so far.
I enjoyed The Binding but I have just finished The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley and it was fantastic I think you might enjoy it. There are characters pulled out of history but it also has a futuristic element and an environmental message. A truly original book and I read a lot, even more than you 😅. I enjoy your book recommendations so thought I would share one of mine 😊
Try impossible creatures by Katharine rundell! One of my 5* reads from last year. Also, have you read any Marion todd? She's a Scottish crime writer and i love her books!! See them run is the first.
Hi, like you I'm also vegan and through the yuka app i found out that oatily isn't the best for you, theres a few other alternatives i love M&S whole oat milk its just as good and no dodgy ingredients 😊
Love the bookish vlogs. Abbie LaRue is still with me. Agreed it could have been edited down. I’m currently reading “Here One Moment” by Liane Moriarty. Fascinating concept.
I enjoyed watching your video. I have heard a lot of positive things about "The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue" and I was disappointed with it. I dnf'd it around 60%... I completely agree with your review! Thanks for sharing :)

Hello. I decided to write down books I read and I read 81 books last year 🙂
That's amazing!

Haha I love it!

Hi Molly, I just read The Book Club Hotel by Sarah Morgan. I really enjoyed it and I think you may also.❤❤
That does sound lovely!
Have you heard of or read Merryn Glover’s books about the Cairngorms? If so, do you recommend them? TY!
Hello, this is the first time I have posted a comment here. I love this channel. I am a follower from an Arab country.
