The torture barge scene is why this Gears of War 2 is so much darker than the first; Tai was at most captured for at least an hour after we last saw him, and that was enough to break him into ending himself. You'd like the cool, stoic characters to endure torture, but this shows just how brutal and savage the Locust truly are; they don't just want to kill humanity into extinction, but make their existence as miserable as they can. RIP Tai Kaliso. He was taken from us too soon.
“Processing” is a lot worse than you probably think. It’s not explained really in the game. The whole “process” includes immense forms of torture, but it all leads up to a very horrid form of lobotomy, that ends up turning the victim into…well, a vegetable at best. That’s the unlucky part, you’d wish you were dead before THAT part happens. They stick sharp tools underneath your tear duct and use them to scrape away your frontal brain matter.

Should have traded the shotgun for the sniper instead of the lancer when you first picked it up. The Lancer is pretty much the workhorse weapon in campaign. Also you can use cover while carrying a heavy weapon. It'll let you mount the weapons too which is way more accurate than shooting from the floor.
5:48 yep the Gorgon Pistol is the pistol that the Kantus guys were using in the previous video and they are a burst fire weapon and it is highly effective against anything. 😊❤️
2:10 those things that Locust drone was riding is called “Bloodmounts.” Bloodmount are like horses of the Locust if you want to say but yeah they are like mini dinosaurs. 😊❤️

Loving the playthrough. There are several books that take place between each game and more that cover the events leading up to the first game, if you enjoy reading, I very much recommend them. One of the books expands on the small scene with Maria. Dom was remembering/dreaming of the morning of E-day. Maria had sent their two children to her parents' house so they could spend the day together, within several hours they got the first news reports of the locust and the city they lived in was under attack.
The multiplayer for this game was so goddamn fun back in the day. All I used to play was Gears and Halo. Miss those days. And that's quite the theory you have. Can't wait to see if you're right or not.

Dom was pointing, Baird looked terrified and Cole looked like "Aw shoot here we go again." So you didnt hear it from me but in the Gears Of War Comics there is a chapter dedicated to Tai, and how it was his relationship with Marcus, I really would like to talk more, but those could be considered Spoilers especially cause E-DAY is in development and he might show, but also In those comics is show how really traumatic the torture was for him and the last thing he sees is his friend, which make it so much sadder, Gears of War 2 not only when up the action, but also how brutal well how WAR IS, and this is coming how worse they are struggling with the Locust, than in the Pendulum Wars. The comics I would recommend would be The Quickening, Barren, Hollow, Harper's Story, and Rise of RAMM
Fun tip! There’s unique executions with all the weapons! You just walk up to a crawling enemy then hold B while holding the gun you want to see! You can also pick them up and use them as meat shields! Walk up to a crawling enemy and hold A. You’ll swap out to whatever pistol you have on you! I think Y also does a different execution too!
I just love the feel to Gears games, the grungy grimy feel to them. The gameplay is just straight forward gun fights which a lot of games try to over complicate these days. When E-Day finally releases I will be like a pig in mud 😊 Keep up the videos, im enjoying your play throughs 💪👍

A few tips (I know probably you are near the end or even playing Gears 3 already, so it works for it, too): 17:47 if you don't like a gun, you probably missing something important about it, because almost any weapon in Gears is useful, in this case that important thing is that you can zoom in by pressing RS when you are aiming (just like the sniper), this works with the Hammerburst assault rifle and all pistols (Snub, Boltok and Gorgon), also you can swap weapons with the squad members, just get close and aim at them and it will give you the option to change any large weapon they have (but only works if the weapon you want to change is loaded). And if you're far from enemies, try to rush at them sometimes, Gnasher shotgun deals a lot of damage at extremely close range, specially if you shoot it from the hip, and so you don't lose mobility aiming. You can do what Cole did in the cinematic (stick a grenade to an enemie), while holding a grenade, get close to an enemie and press B to melee and stick, then run. Boomer variants and Bloodmounts are the perfect enemies to kill this way. But if you want to protect a zone, you can stick the grenades to any surface, so it acts like a proximity mine, I think you can stick 2 grenades at the same time (if you put a third one the first explodes). 38:17 You should pay more attention, like for example you picked other type of grenades (ink grenades) and you did not notice, so you changed them later to frags again. 39:27 Try to interact more with the enemies, you stay too far from them sometimes, if you get close to them when they're crawling, you can perform diverse types of executions by pressing Y, X, B or A, every weapon has an unique execution, even the Mulcher chaingun and Mortar, some weapons perform their especial execution with Y, others with B, I think X is always the fast execution, and A is always to pick the enemies and use it as a meatshield, when you don't want to carry the "shield" anymore, you can press D-pad Up to stick him with a grenade and push him towards enemies.
