- Here it is finally, Sub 40.
This is definitely the best time I will ever achieve in this game, thank you everybody for tuning into my streams during this journey. I am very happy to finally achieve this time. I want to thank the moderators, runners and other community members for supporting me for the past 3.5 years of me running this game. I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this game, I'm still planning to optimize the other categories (152 Tokens and continuing my board takeover). I'm also forever dedicating this run to Lauren Pizzillo (Montra). Thank you Lauren for finding some of these strats to make this run possible, I love you so much and I wish you were here to see this run, Rest In Peace.
And this (most likely) marks the end of my Any% journey in this game, I have absolutely no interest in improving this time any further. I am done with this game for now.
For those who have never seen a speedrun of this game, here are some frequently asked questions:
Q: How did you kill Blinky without having to go through multiple phases?
A: Blinkys invincibility frames keep going while the game is paused, so I can position him by an invisible wall and keep pausing and hitting him back and forth to kill him.
Q: How aren't you knocked back while rev-rolling into Inky/Pinky?
A: On the NTSC-U GameCube and PS2 1.0 versions of the game Inky & Pinky can be damaged twice with a single rev-roll, On Phases 3 & 4 in Pinky its impossible to deal 3 hits with one rev-roll, so I hit her once then return to the main platform then hit her twice
Q: How did you skip Volcanic Panic?
A: By rev-rolling at the wall, I can clip out of bounds, and walk to the ending that's located on the right, I have to tiptoe to the ending since there's an invisible instant death trigger which will kill Pac-Man instantly.
Q: How did you bounce on top of clyde?
A: Clydes left eye (right from your prospective) has collision, which can be butt-bounced on, which allows me to get on top of him earlier.
Q: How do you jump so high?
A: When you jump out of a rev-roll from a sloped surface, Pac-Man will gain slightly more height which allows me to get on top of clyde earlier for Phases 2 & 4.
Q: How are you getting speed boosts from mines?
A: When you are in invincibility frames and spin-dash off the edge of a mine Pac-Man will get boosted forward, the furthest you are from the mine the better the boost is.

damn as a kid i took 2 days to beat it but now i can do it in less than a day but this guy does it in less than an hour
this game was one of those games that i never played because it didn't seem fun at first (had a modded xbox with alot of games pre-installed), but when you became sick and had to stay in bed i'd try this and enjoyed it alot. Never finished the game but I got to the last levels at least. Would like to play this again some day!

This is incredible man, i was talking to my friend about my favorite childhood game earlier, got home and looked this up and was such an experience to watch.
Just curious, are you still grinding this game to lower the record more or are you done until someone maybe beats it one day?

What is the best way to emulate this for pc today? I've been trying to get this game for a while now and want advice for anything running it nowadays

What’s the general consensus for the water levels in this game? Even played at a high level these stages just look lazy and slower than the rest of the game.
You just gotta play well, there's not that much we can do to speed things up faster.

I remember trying to beat Clyde in the Caldera as an 8 year old was the most daunting thing ever.
Game was my childhood! Remember clyde being the first boss i ever rage quitted at when i was 5-6 years old. Kinda kills me how this wasnt included in the pac man museum.

@@duckfacemcgee3271 Because out of love, Lord Jesus came to save us from our sins to give us an eternal hope in heaven to whoever believes His gospel. Merry Christmas! I'm still glad that there are people still interested in this pacman game. I don't know about you, but for me, it is nostalgic!
It's kind of sad seeing how Clyde can be cheesed like this despite being a really tough boss. Let's hope the Repac game that will be made eventfully will spice things up a little.

Probably one of my favorite games and I revisited it after watching your speedrun.

I'm playing on an American Gamecube, the PC version has slower load times and there are tricks that can't be done on that version.
The game was never released on PSP.

I remember this game I played all the time as a kid volcano panic was where I rage shifted I did end up going back later and it took a while but I finally beat volcano panic I hate that level
