      As a Vikings fan who was crying about being disrespected at the beginning of the season, we fully deserve that lol. In all fairness, we beat the 49ers in week 2 and destroyed the Texans in week 3, and at the time, both teams were ranked top 5 in the power rankings. Of course we thought we were a legitimate contender at the time. After the losses to the Lions and Rams, it was pretty clear this team had some glaring vulnerabilities.
      Even after getting destroyed by Detroit last week, I didn't think the Vikings would get embarrassed like that by the Rams.
      Go easy on us Vikings fans... We're stuck in this purgatory of cheering for a team that gets our hopes up for a SB run every few seasons and then completely shits the bed in the playoffs.

      All 3 of those guys aren’t really typical journeyman QBs bc all 3 were franchise guys and on 1 team for longer than 2-3 seasons and didn’t start bouncing around until the very end of their careers, Journeyman QBs are guys that are on a team for 2-3 years max before going elsewhere like Ryan Fitzpatrick, outside of the 4 years with the Bills he was only on a team for 2 years at most, another example of a journeyman is Josh McCown, outside of his first 4 years on the Cardinals he was only on a team for 2 years at most before bouncing around to another team, a more recent QB that fits this journeyman is Darnold but there’s a good chance a team signs him to a 3-5 year deal after this year another recent example would be Josh Dobbs who’s been on the move after the Steelers got rid of him, Minshew is also looking to be a journeyman guy too

      My biggest concern is why he's hanging onto the ball for so long. I've got to believe that KOC has been telling him all season that he has to get the ball out quicker. That leaves us with a few possibilities:
      1) I'm wrong, and KOC hasn't told Darnold to get the ball out quicker. In fact, maybe he's telling him to wait for the big play to develop. This feels unlikely.
      2) KOC has been telling Darnold to get the ball out sooner, but Darnold's a stubborn SOB and doesn't listen. Also seems unlikely..
      3) Darnold is trying to get the ball out sooner, but there's some kind of mental block -- getting fixated on a single receiver, poor processing speed, etc -- that's keeping him from doing that. This seems the most likely.
      It's frustrating because it seems like such a simple fix in theory -- just draw up some quick hitters! Get that ball out sooner! But if Darnold has an issue with processing speed, there isn't an easy fix.

    • @colesmith193
      @colesmith193 3 часа назад

      @@beardofnursing8602it was a mental block 100%. He crumbled under the bright lights. He had the most yards lost in sacks in NFL playoff history with 82 yards. Didn't take his checks and didn't throw it away that's the QBs fault

    • @GotMilk5769
      @GotMilk5769 6 часов назад

      About half the sacks were because of him holding on to the ball for too long.
      He can just throw it away and live with the next down but it was always 3rd/4th and long

    I like Sam, but his weaknesses are hard to overlook. Not sure if it's anxiety getting the best of him, but it seems like his processing speed is what's killing him. He's holding onto the ball too long, not finding open guys, and throwing too late.
    The o-line is terrible, but that's nothing new. There's no excuse for holding onto the ball as long as Darnold does when your o-line has absolutely stunk since losing Darrisaw midway through the season.

    Darnold had more wins in his first season as Viking than Jared Goff had in his first 2 years with the Lions. Goff went 2-15 and 9-8 in Detroit and folks wanted him gone, meanwhile Stafford won a SB in his first season with the Rams. Sam had a really bad finish, but things can change, and on March 10th he'll be the same age as Justin Herbert who also had a bad playoff game and is now 0-2 in the playoffs.
    Folks just overreact.

    Will Dak, Cousins , Herbert will be starters next season ? How are they better than Sam Darnold . All of them get paid several times more money than Sam. Not defending Sam darnold and I’m not a Vikings fan either but we hype player too early and then criticize them if they fail .

    Sam lost Millions of dollars by dropping these last two games... 35 million per year does seem possible because of the competitive bidding situation. He's done in Minnesota, unless they tag him. Maybe they tag Danny Dimes instead? I got the sense that this is a culture problem in Minnesota, not raising their game to a playoff crescendo, it came off like the Lions and then the Rams, just simply wanted it more.

  • @bobthecpaontheloose4141

    The outcome of the Vikings - Rams game exposed problems on the Vikings team that go to more than Darnold's under performance - While his performance was less than stellar, with the constant infiltration of their backfield, any QB's performance would be subject to criticism and I'd also be looking at their O line play for a major part of the blame... I believe that his play revealed that maybe he's not upper tier but also that he's not as bad as the outcome would want you to believe.
