Bishop Gorman(NV), pre-season Nevada #1 and Nationally ranked #17 (MaxPreps) face off in their 2019 season opener vs Orem high school out of Utah.
Orem's 5 star linebacker Noah Sewell did not play because of a foot injury. Gorman was without transfer running back Jaydn Ott as well as a couple other transfers.
Sophomore running back Cam Barfield (#3) and freshman WR Zachariah Branch (#9) stole the show as Branch scored TDs on his first two career receptions. Barfield ran for 194 yards and 2 TDs himself.
Gorman’s defense, which had six sacks, added to the first-quarter scoring when sophomore defensive back Fabian Ross scored on a 22-yard interception return to give the Gaels a 27-0 lead after nine minutes.
