He is, btw, wrong about German students saying a pledge to Hitler and the Third Reich during the Nazi regime. Not even Hitler and the Nazis demanded that of children. Only the military had some sort of morning drill with a kind of pledge of allegiance. The only other country that I know to foster this cultish adoration of their own country in children is North Korea…

    • @Attirbful
      @Attirbful Год назад +1

@@LalaDepala00 yes, of course the Hitlerjugend existed, but that is the Hitlerjugend, and they did the salute in their club and at their meetings, which had nothing to do with school. Not every single child was a member and the schools were not part of the organization. The HJ was a Nazi organization that was coordinated by the party. Regular children in school did not pledge to Hitler. They might have done the Hitler salute when the teacher entered because this was the convention at the time, but not the pledge that f.e. the Hitlerjugend or the military did. Hitlerjugend (for boys) and Bund deutscher Mädel (for girls) had their core groups for the ages of 14-18. So, children younger than that were not even involved… The Pledge of Allegiance however, is, as far as I know, said by children as early as grade 1!

As far as I know they did prove that the productivity was the same or even higher in 6 hours of work compared to 8.
Also what they tested somwhere in Europe (cant remember where) is a 4 day work week.
Some companies actually stick to that and work 4 days a week and you have 3 days off. But that one I guess will need more time to be introduced everywhere across Europe.
I would be happy with 6 hours as well. Hopefully Croatia will pick that one up.

    • @GiblixStudio
      @GiblixStudio Год назад +1

with many companies in the netherlands you can say that you'll work 4 days at 9 hours a day instead of 5 days of 8 hours.
but yeah it makes sense that people are productive for a certain amount of time. we're not robots. and saying you're in the office for 14 hours doesn't make you cool or more dedicated to the company when you spend the remaining 8 hours doing fairly little. Work smarter, not harder ;)
however there is a downside to this that is becoming more apparent. we're living in a world where everyone expects convenience. all the shops have to be open 24/7 with home delivery for things as well. in the netherlands that is starting to break down due people working less hours. Stores can no longer be open 24/7. home delivery of products is not happening around the clock anymore either and happens only a certain amount of days in the week.
In short. People wanting to work less and have more time to live life is fine. However we should all also accept less convenient access to things we're taking for granted right now. At least untill robotics gets to the point to do the more advanced tasks for us to fill those gaps

      @Niki91-HR Год назад

@@sodapop83 If it is a 4 day week than you wont work 8 hours but a bit more. And from what I heard the companies who work like this actually thrive and I salaries didnt decline.
You would think that people who work for example 6 days a week for 8 hours would get more money but not necessarily.
It also depends what profession it is. Some professions deserve more but dont get more for whatever reason.
Money is ofc important but not the most important thing. The mental and physical health and overall a good work life balance is often more important.
Also just because you have 3 days off doesnt mean you will spend more. Only depends what kind of lifestyle you have/want.

28 days is the mandated holiday entitlement for people working full time with consistent hours. It's government set and non negotiable. It becomes more murky if you're a shift worker or if you work irregular hours. In this case you should get a set amount of time off per hour you work. Then for part time workers working 3 days a week you're entitled to 16.8 days of holiday.

In Germany usually all people have compulsory health insurance, which also includes close family members (children and spouse), and costs around 15 to 16 % of your income depending on the insurance company. You have the choice between probably 50 and 150 insurance companies, which by law all have to pay for all treatments specified by law. Depending on the insurance company you might get extras like courses for health, losing weight, or sports courses.
Around half of the 15/16% gets deducted from your salary, and the other half has to be paid by your employer by law. Unemployment insurance, pension insurance, and long-term care insurance are also mandatory and have to be deducted from the salary with 50% and the other half has to be paid by the employer by law. Only the income tax is deducted from your salary completely, so the salary you get is your net income with all duties already being paid.
By the way, the prices you see in shops or restaurants also include taxes. (Only the bottle and can deposit or the deposit for multi-use takeaway food packaging or multi-use coffee cups comes on top because that's the money you get refunded by returning the empty bottles, cans, cups, or packaging.)
But back to the health topic:
    Ambulances are free
Doctor visits are free (including specialists)
For hospitals, you pay a co-payment of 10 Euro per day (which might perhaps cover the cost of the three meals you get), beds, and all treatments and surgeries are free.
At the pharmacy, your usual co-payment is 5 Euro, depending on the total price of the medicine your co-payment may rise up to the maximum of 10 Euro.
If you are ill and shouldn't work, you get a notice from the doctor, and you will get full payment for six weeks, if you are ill longer than that, the health insurance will pay for another 78 weeks, but they might reduce the payment to 70% of your salary.
Your vacation entitlement is four weeks by law, but usually, you get more than five weeks. Six weeks or some days more are not unusual. And a difference to the US, where you can ask to get your vacation days, in Germany you are obliged by law to take your vacation days completely, you are not allowed to waive any, since vacation is mandatory to recreate yourself. If you get ill during vacation, you need a doctor's notice to get the lost vacation days back that you lost by illness. And the law says that you have to take at least two weeks of your vacation entitlement coherent. And the employer is not allowed to contact you during vacation, except in a real emergency.
If you have a high salary, very much above the average, you may decide to be released from the compulsory health insurance system and take a "private" insurance company.
That means, you get invoices for everything, have to pay those, and request a refund from the insurance.
I personally don't recommend this, since the insurance might
    - refuse to refund certain treatments
    - will definitely increase the insurance rate with your increasing age, and you might get a problem if you are a pensioner (because you can't return to the compulsory system)
    - and your family members are not covered and might need separate health insurance.
If you are a woman and give life to a child, you can get a paid parental leave. Though I'm not sure about the exact regulations, it is at least one year, and you can give some of your months to your husband to share the parental leave time, for both parents, the rule by law is that they return to the exact working place which they left. The Employer has to reserve those positions by law for the parents.
The parents get a monthly payment from the federal government of 300 Euros per child from birth to the 18th birthday, up to the 21st birthday if the child is unemployed, and up to the 25th birthday if the child is in education at a university or professional education at a company.
Schools are free, and Universities are almost free, you might have to pay an amount usually between 50 and 300 Euro per semester since every state has its own rules.

A common example is health care.
"Don't go overseas, you'll die over there if you need health care".
Well, I'm here texting you guys in perfect health, fighting fit, and my doctors surgery offered me a free full body scan and check up this coming Friday.

But after that amount they don't take your welfare away. They reduce it. Every £1/$1 over your base amount they take 45p/45 cents back from you. Yes, the idea of personal freedoms is rooted in the European enlightenment (about 1700 till 1800). Germany has codified her freedom rights in the Constitution of 1949 (Grundgesetz) in the Articles 1 to 19. Here a selection:
1 human dignity shall be inviolable.
2 the right to free development of his/her personality
3 equality before the law. Men and women shall have equal rights. No discrimination because of sex, race, language, origin, faith etc.
4 Freedom of faith, religion and conscience
5 Freedom of expression, arts and sciences; free speech, freedom of press
6 protection of Marriage - Family - Children
8 Freedom of assembly (rallies etc.)
9 Freedom of association (clubs, unions, political parties etc.)
10 Mail system: Privacy of correspondence, posts and telecommunications
11 Freedom of movement (move & travel freely)
12 Occupational freedom: freely to choose their occupation or profession
13 Inviolability of the home: Only a judge may authorise searches
The right to privately own or carry weapons has never been an issue. It is highly regulated and no constitutional right.

In The Netherlands you also have to report if you make extra money when you're getting a social security paycheck (Uitkering). I believe you get about 1100ish euro a month. Then you can apply for additional stuff from taxes and what not. Which can bring that sum up to a total of 1500-1600euro a month. You have to pay rent, groceries, health insurance, internet, clothing with that money. If you got kids etc you're gonna have it rough. You need to report everything extra you earn so that the government will then pay you less. So no matter what happens you'll never get more than that 1600euro a month. Unless you get an actual job which is usually 1800-2000 baseline income a month.
It is the same exact issue that exists when earning more at your job so that it moves you from 1 tax bracket into another. You need to earn significantly more otherwise its just not worth it. You'll be taxed harder to the point that the 200-300euro monthly salary increase is a waste of time for everybody.
Social housing here is somewhat sprinkled around. However there are clear zones in some parts of the country. Where I live most social housing is in places that are less desirable to live due to noise pollution. So a lot are build near rail roads and industrial areas. But you can't tell from just looking at it since they look like any other house in the city.
People with social security are looked down upon by a lot of people everywhere in the world. Especially those who stay in it long term. Personally I can understand if someone, for whatever reason, needs to fall back on it for a few months or a year at most. Thankfully the dutch government has several different types of social security depending on the person and their issue. In most cases you get 1 month for each year you worked and you get 70% compensated. If you are long term in the system you get reduced to be below minimum wage.
Also we can get guns. in the last 14 years we had 2 massive shootings that made it into the national news. However most people that have guns use it for hunting and such. I'm not carrying my crossbows and rifles out onto the street for the lolz. Especially now with wolves crossing the border into our country. It has been an issue the past few months. Shooting the occasional one is kind of needed to protect our sheep and livestock.

I don’t want to bust your bubbles but in United States, nothing really belong to you, not even your house. I live in North America and I know that much. I have a friend that bought a land, the amount of taxes he had to pay is ridiculous. Other countries, once you buy a land, that land belong to you and there are no taxes. Let just look at the Hawaïen fire, many people were put out of their homes and the gouvernement forbidden them to go back to their homes. Some people live in LALA Land, just it hadn’t reached you yet doesn’t means it is not happening in the country. It is just in the matter of time before you tasted the same medicine like he did. It is better to learn and be prepared before it reaches you. I heard many testimonies of people who own lands and farms, including the Amish peoples who the government are taking lands from them. It happened in United States and Canada. Even Klaus Schwab said it, by 2035, no one will own property in America.
