Ray is having an entry type of lucid dream if it's one at all. When I have had lucid dreams I have been deeply asleep, not in that light state where you are almost awake. It is an unquestionable experience where you become completely aware and conscious but realize you also deeply asleep. I think some people have never had a true lucid dream but wish they had and this sounds like one of those.
Dear Meagan, I agree with you , l also have used this type of dream psychology, but more intuitively, dreams tell you where you are @ , whom may not be the best relationship for you on a much deeper level ,etc ,if you meditate regularly this will be a given ,we are connecting to our energetic level , many movement disciplines will also teach you this & how to apply it . It's amazing how precise his predictions have been so far, especially about the AI Technology development! Also, I remember him quite clearly in a documentary experimenting with about 40 supplements a day he was taking at the time, maybe some 20 years ago or so. The results both on him and on some other volunteers were amazing! He was such a good influence on me! What I like most about Ray (other than his genius intellect) is that he is incredibly calm and composed. He doesn't show any hint doubt when expressing his bold ideas. But I find it a bit odd that he has signed up for cryogenic freezing of his body if he dies (it's odd because he says he has entered "stage 2", and that he is already gaining years as he age).
*"What I like most about Ray (other than his genius intellect) is that he is incredibly calm and composed."* The drugs explain the last part of your sentence -- well, the word lethargic explains his demeanour better -- but 'his genius intellect' is nonexistent. By the way, calm and composed are synonyms.
Boosh! You got the legend himself! I hope that future he describes with us merging with technology is it good one and not as scary as it sounds at times.
Great episode. It's fascinating that even though he was describing the technological singularity in a positive light, it was so easy for my mind to deep dive into why those things might end up hurting the human race, like what form inequality would take if some people had access to this technology and others didn't, how this much intelligence might be abused, etc. Which really went back to an earlier point he made--we are badly equipped to see how good the world is right now. Negativity bias is a wild ride! Congrats on getting such an incredible voice on the show!
Hey but don't forget that as we will evolve, people will get more exposed. I don't think it will even be a possibility for "bad" people to use this to their advantage, as we will see through it. I think that your concern is actually what's happening right now and in the past but we are leaving this.

I actually just voiced a similar concern. I can think of a lot of situations where this could create a huge disadvantage for those who can't afford it.
Ray is an absolute legend. I have seen him speak hundreds of times on RUclips over the past 6yrs. He has totally changed my thinking of the future. I am very excited for the future. I do hope he is right!
i don't really get why people are so obsessed with him taking supplements. this person made a lot of breakthroughs technologically over the past decades. some of which we enjoy today and his though patterns are actually interesting, a person who thinks beyond. A person who likes creating solutions for problems. it just makes me think how humanity is capable of so much more.
. . . especially since taking supps is SOOOOO smart ! It is all about not missing any ground breaking events (e. g. "immortality") in the not too distant future !
I once practiced lucid dreaming 3 years ago when i read about it on a book in librivox. I remember i had 3 dreams that occured that i was aware that i was dreaming, during that i wrote over 30 dreams on my journel whenever i woke up in the morning.
I don't think he's been knighted. But for fun, we could call him Saint Kurzweil. He's the patron saint of the Singularity. I understand that bees like Ray, too. But that's likely because they think he's promoting the Stingularity. And of course Sting *has* been knighted. Yes, yes, I know you're laughing at me, not with me.

When the upgrades to the human brain come in the 2030's, and later, won't those who can't afford it be massively disadvantaged? I know some will say that the benefits will trickle down but I still tend to think this will create an even larger gap between wealthy and the general population.
Nah, in all liklihood, it'll work the other way. But the most important metric is the floor of poverty, not the distance between the poor & the rich. For instance, I wouldn't really care if there were trillionaires running around if my worst-case scenario was being able to afford rent in a 2-bedroom apartment, fast internet, a decent car, & plenty of food. The internet has been an extremely powerful tool for raising the floor of poverty in countries that have full access to its benefits (an umbrella that is widening every year), both because it gives access to new employment opportunities, but also because it gives access to new educational opportunities, & it makes previously unheard voices easy to hear. I suspect that direct brain-computer interfaces & brain augmentation will be a *much* more powerful tool. For instance, it's a very powerful, compelling experience to be able to see what life is like for someone living through hardship on the other side of the world from their own perspective thanks to RUclips, but I think it would be a much more compelling experience to be able to literally experience other people's memories & feel their emotions thanks to direct brain-computer interfaces... & I can hardly imagine the jobs that will be made possible. There's a great saying that rich folks get premium access to this technology when it's expensive & doesn't work. Everyone else gets access to it when it's cheap & works very well. So don't worry too much. The track record for improved technology has typically been an improved life for everyone, not just the rich.
A few rich folks bought the first Apple Lisa computer compared to the billions of folks that use an advanced hardware called smartphones that is superior in everyway to that acient device called Lisa, right? Again, it did take time to mature, like 1,2 or 3 decades later & it's all good.
Lucid dreaming is both. It can be that state in the morning as well as being “awake” in the dream and not actually being in your bed yet. If you can get past waking up after realizing your dreaming, lucid dreaming is amazing for cultivating creativity and ideas. I’ve done it 4 times and every time is eye opening and really re-enforces his idea that our normal filters are down when we are asleep. It truly lets you believe anything is possible.
Interesting interview. I haven't deep dived on Ray but the idea that it all goes well to the singularity is overly simplistic. If you look at the use of resources, power, and ability in mankind it tends towards corruption, misuse, and foolishness. Technology tends to be used for profit not benefit. Also if everyone lived even 10 years longer, how would that impact our resources use and society. The ripple effect of that would be huge and not in all good ways. The refreshing of death can also bring hope. Imagine if all the Hitler's and other powerful but wicked people could live 50 years more or even one year more. Near future predictions are one thing, but getting out 20 years is simplistic thinking at best. Thought provoking though. Great job as usual Tom.
Great interview. Tom Bilyeu asks the questions then lets Ray speak. He's not egotistical, with no interruptions and frivolous interjections like most interviewers who wish to make it about themselves.
Mr Tom, can you please make a video for students. I mean all the impact quotes apply to it too , but just a short , perhaps a one or two minute short. It would really help. I love you IT team and Tom, i try to only comment when i got fire to spit but just wanted to say thank you for what you guys do, it will not go unoticed
I disagree. He should be in better physical shape. That’s what we currently have the most control over, and he is not doing that. His plotted timeline for our technology is exciting though.
@@DanyCervantes Agreed. He could do dry fasting and get rid of the extra body fat, and add perhaps a decade to his life just because of that. And combine it with rigorous yoga or exercise. He'd likely live to be 90-95 just on that and the better medical technology we'll have soon. Then he'll be available to take the anti aging treatments and we can see just how well they work.
@@enermaxstephens1051 It would be tragic if the guy who popularized the knowledge of what is going on, and what we should look forward to in the future was not there to see it, only because he dislikes to exercise.
One metric not mentioned much in a chauvinistic culture is "felt experience" or emotions. I'm curious if depression per capita is going or down, enthusiasm for life etc. Suicide rates are one indicator. If people feel like shit it is not getting "better" to live longer.
Regarding 29:32 "We will multiply our intelligence a billion-fold by 2045." Okay. Pause, please. This is one of those kinds of trademark predictions Kurzweil is known to throw around in his books and articles which generates a burst of initial excitement, but needs to be tempered with practical philosophical questions. For example, at what cost? Who are the gatekeepers in this scenario? We're still talking about violent, irrational, selfish humans who have historically used every technological advantage in horrifying ways. When one person or group gains access to that kind of advantage and others do not, how does that end well? How does the kind of seismic transformation he's predicting NOT lead to any number of easily imagined dystopias?
Mr. Kurzweil has to have two watches if we wants to keep the track of time when he jumps between this dimension and the next. As you see the *bling* watch for our material world is on the right hand while the bland one, which keeps time in the next parallel, sits on his left hand, a hand where right-handed people usually put their watches ;D
The dream method is the very same method Thomas Edison spoke of using. I’m realizing that if I apply these same methods, I can achieve similar results in my field.
Looks like he has a technological watch and an OLD fashion watch on his Right ✋.. My guess is just in case the battery or Bluetooth on his Modern watch fails/glitches he always has a traditional back up.

But I find it a bit odd that he has signed up for cryogenic freezing of his body if he dies (it's odd because he says he has entered "stage 2", and that he is already gaining years as he age).
*"What I like most about Ray (other than his genius intellect) is that he is incredibly calm and composed."*
The drugs explain the last part of your sentence -- well, the word lethargic explains his demeanour better -- but 'his genius intellect' is nonexistent. By the way, calm and composed are synonyms.
Just in case of course.
18:48 by the "diligent" public, do you mean the wealthy? Will we truly continue to base fellow humans value upon the monetary growth they generate?
Boosh! You got the legend himself! I hope that future he describes with us merging with technology is it good one and not as scary as it sounds at times.
Ray's final bridge sounds exactly like the "Borg", from Star Trek. Should be fun.
Guys, I think I’m falling in love with tech and computer science. Love pioneers like Kurzweil ❤️
Well, then marry it … but don't say you haven't been warned that you'll only deliver zeros ...
Brittany Robinson Those concerns you have are still absolutely valid and something we MUST be vigilant against.
Brittany Robinson it's the end of the homo sapiens. Time for the next generation✌⚡🤖
Hey but don't forget that as we will evolve, people will get more exposed. I don't think it will even be a possibility for "bad" people to use this to their advantage, as we will see through it.
I think that your concern is actually what's happening right now and in the past but we are leaving this.
Brittany Robinson as a native American medicine woman... Yokuts 😍😍
I agree... Until we can get along...share this planet without killing her...
We don't have to be here as a species to make it...
We seem hell bent on self destruction 😂😂
We can't even stop killing raping our own... Over silly things like skin color and items
I love the way you interview, and I really like ray Kurzweil!
he´s my favorite ray kurzweil !!! such an amazing visionary man !!!!!!
Wow you brought Sir Ray Kurzweil. Was waiting for this.
Wow thank you tom ur great, u guys are changing my life day by day everyday.
Very interesting video and such a high profile interview. Great work Tom much enjoyed!!
Glad you liked it!
Why am I only just seeing this man? I thought I seen all your content Tom!! Love you 😍

Wowww ray has done alot... Immortality & world peace by 2030... all fear is fear, wake up & ask better questions... such an Inspiration ☯️
You do best intros Tom Bilyeu ♾
Kurzweil wears 2 watches because he knows what time it is!
Nah. You were still in diapers when I read his book. He's a piece of shit. Give you another 15-20 years to come to the same conclusions.
Time for the 5 year update interview!
I love the sleep and speech practices. He has a strong imagination. This is how to beef this up.
Powerful stuff, love the bit about the 4 bridges. Tom this guy is going to help you live forever!
Duuuuude. You got Ray! Haven't even watched it yet and I'm pumped
BLOCKCHAIN / ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE / INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT)
things will become very interesting in the next 5-10 years.
David L also 5G/AUGMENTED REALITY and ROBOTICS have really got me excited. Apple better be building house robots and AR glasses or they will keep sinking
@@LeesReviews69 can't wait for AR glasses with smartphone-like capabilities.
You'll be watching this 20 years from now, and you'll be like; how did we miss to figure out this earlier?
fascinating, brilliant and incredible. Very interesting to listen to.
Very inspiring hopefully his predictions become real
Thank you,.... Tom Bilyeu!!!
As Ray said "Every metric for humankind has dramatically improved." I agree with this statement, but at the same time, we are in the middle of the sixth largest extinction event. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holocene_extinction
Not for humans though
❤ the lucid dreams tips
He's talking about dream recall. I think he's gotten the definition mixed up. Lucid dreaming is actively becoming conscious during the dream.
uhh thats exactly what he said hes doing, dumbshit.....
Monkey Robots Inc. No he got the idea wrong. U can have lucid dreams during the night. Lucid dreaming involved 3 thing things. Be in a dream, be Aware u r in the dream and control of the dream. It can happen during any dream
That's really a great interview where the questions were intelligible for the majority. The all was giving a so claire view of what will be our future than I decide without any hesitation to share this tube on the Facebook group "Future World".
Rather share it with your fellow inmates in a nuthouse.
I was waiting to watch this for a long time!!!!
Aniket Shevade me too
Aniket Shevade is
rather taken back right now just purchased Nuance Dictation software last night for help with writing my book. This morning open RUclips and here’s the creator sitting down with Tom Bilyeu.. amazing.
James Golden
Good luck with your writing. I don't know if this is your first book, if so, I hope it is the first of many. Be Blessed.
You can dictate right into Google docs.
Best interview of Impact Theory I have seen so far. Love your channel. Very informative and inspiring. Keep it up!
This was exactly the information I required to help me move towards my goal. I love synchronicity! Thanks SO much for sharing this with the world.
Rob Satanta what's your goal?
danae hernandez To Build a business that will allow me to see my ideas/inventions become a reality.
this guy is FANTASTIC!
for many years my dedicated and diligent brother
Such a power move wearing two watches. Love it
When the upgrades to the human brain come in the 2030's, and later, won't those who can't afford it be massively disadvantaged?
Ben L who told you you get to get a say how the wealth of other people is distributed?
A few rich folks bought the first Apple Lisa computer compared to the billions of folks that use an advanced hardware called smartphones that is superior in everyway to that acient device called Lisa, right? Again, it did take time to mature, like 1,2 or 3 decades later & it's all good.
Elysium
i just love Ray
Lucid dreaming is both. It can be that state in the morning as well as being “awake” in the dream and not actually being in your bed yet. If you can get past waking up after realizing your dreaming, lucid dreaming is amazing for cultivating creativity and ideas. I’ve done it 4 times and every time is eye opening and really re-enforces his idea that our normal filters are down when we are asleep. It truly lets you believe anything is possible.
I really enjoyed this episode, thank you! 😊
He looks younger than he did 5 years ago! In my marriage, Ray is my celebrity card. Whats up Ray?!
now I am at home and I will follow you with great dear and daily brains
Ray is the man!
Thanks Tom. I work driving and your show makes my shift so easy.
All your content is already astronomical , but It'd be nice if we had one which could be shown to a class to motivate them.
Thank you
Fixing a broken heart is what I liked to hear :)
I love you IT team and Tom, i try to only comment when i got fire to spit but just wanted to say thank you for what you guys do, it will not go unoticed
Side note: ive been hooked to Dr. Joe dispenza lately he is on the next level..
Intelligent man. Thinking about picking up one of his books to read. Btw, you guys notice one of the cameras is out of focus?
Ray looks much younger than 3 years ago!!
You are awesome, i learn much here, greetings South America
One metric not mentioned much in a chauvinistic culture is "felt experience" or emotions. I'm curious if depression per capita is going or down, enthusiasm for life etc. Suicide rates are one indicator. If people feel like shit it is not getting "better" to live longer.
The first interview where Tom didn’t use tons of expletives. Wonder why? Enjoyed very much.
Tom looks scared to death around 28:30 - great morning giggle thanks Tom
Best mindset
Fantastic interview
When I wake up in the middle of the night to write creative writing I'll wake up in the morning amazed at what I've written.
The dream method is the very same method Thomas Edison spoke of using. I’m realizing that if I apply these same methods, I can achieve similar results in my field.
This should be shown as an example of good interview questions.
Ray, see you in 2045 :)
He is wearing watches on both hands. Brilliant insights btw.
Looks like he has a technological watch and an OLD fashion watch on his Right ✋.. My guess is just in case the battery or Bluetooth on his Modern watch fails/glitches he always has a traditional back up.
Thank you sir
G Maly was here!
