I like this series, its a cool budget build project. Now, replace the axles with those cheap and heavy Extra speed metal axles, and some fresh tires that grip. All the weight down low.
I'm a big fan of toyzuki frame rails! Nice to see someone doing a review on carbon fiber rails! Well done brother! The more build options the better! A little weight up front is always good on my book.
Kevin Gibbs at some point I will start with some weight but it will be simply heavier wheels and tires. See how that does but I can’t go too far, just a 500mah battery and a jst plug powering the whole thing.
Mamba Micro X esc and a Spektrum RC S6250 Digital High Torque Low Profile Servo (High Voltage). The servo is 382oz of torque and it's probably about 3/5's the weight of the one you're run'n. I still suggest TSL's in the Predator compound and some soft Crawler Innovation Double Deuce foams. All the videos with this truck , I'm not really seeing much at all in the way of tire-conforming.
You should get that new tiny Holmes outrunner motor and castle mamba micro esc with some kind of low profile servo, also you could cut out the windows on the body and maybe do some cut outs on the back part of the body
Holmes hobbies br mini is the lightest esc you can get and the puller 400 is lighter than a standard 540. Alternatively you can de-case a Sw4 and use a stubby revolver.
@@ExocagedRC the Holmes br mini is lightest. That's about all it has on the 1080. Hobbywing fills up the esc with Epoxy so it's not really worth trying to take it out of the case to shave a few grams. The Puller 400 will still be the best, although pricy, motor for the 1080 if you want lighter.
Glad i mentioned that chassis on the group now! I've got one sitting there for my OG SCX10 in case my thin alloy one bends and i've one of these sitting for my 10.2 as well. It's a shame some mods are needed to get it sitting perfect but for the price it's still well worth it. Did you need to adjust the preload on the shocks much?
This would be my first kit build. I don’t have a dremmel. Would I achieve the same result if I just cut a heap of holes along the stock chassis rails about 10mm apart?
@@ExocagedRC 👍👍👍 I am also working with carbon fiber right now. I haven't done the chassis yet, I definitely plan to though. Love what you did here, can't wait to do it to my Komodo. Bunch more work I'm going to do to it with carbon fiber. It's the first over the top carbon fiber build that I have done. This one here is amazing can't wait for the next video..!!
How about the new Holmes Revolver and a Mamba Micro X? I’m getting ready to install that Bog Hob body on my Enduro Kit, what grill decal are you using? If it’s not the Bog Hog grill, I’d love a link. Thanks for the great vids!👍🏼
I have a revolver motor already and tried an old mamba micro but it was horrible, really really bad and got hot in seconds so the old esc I have may just be a bad one. That’s the grill sticker that comes with the body.
cut that cage section out of the body and replace it with flat lexan sheet take your esc and rx out of their plastic cases use an outrunner motor they are half the size
I’ll keep that in mind, it will probably get nose dived at some point. If it does you guys will see it. As far as comps go I only comp in a couple places and the rules are way nicer to the drivers and trucks than the sorrca stuff.
Ty I’m using the metal cutoff disc and it will just stall if I turn it down. I need to get a different wheel for plastic stuff as this just melts it’s way through.

ekpauly at some point I will mess with weight on it. But only a little bit or I’ll have to get a bigger battery and use a normal battery plug.
Exocaged RC well this got me to order some carbon chassis rails, I’m going to do build like this. 👍🏼

@@ExocagedRC I'm definitely watching bro!
Nice run!
I like the sound of the wheels!
Great video, actually have a set of those rails in the shelf ready to install.
This is like a good Sugar Free Desert!
LOW COST PERFORMANCE BUILD 😎😎

I’ll check into that servo thank you and yeah the lighter it gets the more I’m
Seeing tire conformity issues, but they are still working fairly well.
It will be interesting to see how you like it long term. Nice job!
I am really thinking of getting those carbon fiber rails, that is 57% less weight !!
Donald Gudagnolo use the link in the description, hope that still works.
@@ExocagedRC It sure does, thank you !!!

The tires had my dogs fooled. They thought it was a squeaky toy in the video lol.
mynez lower LoL yes these breath a lot.
Them tires sounding like there working nice. Wet. 👌✔.. NC. ❤
mamba micro x with a holmes puller pro stubby should be lighter, it'll probably be more efficient too.

You will also need to add a Bec with the br-mini.
Yeah I’m not sure what it will end up with but I really like the 1080 esc.

Get some 5/16 delrin rod to make your own cross braces
This superlite is pretty cool, still gets good bite on the climbs too 😁
i guess it is kind of off topic but do anybody know of a good site to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Blaine Jalen Try flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
@Luke Isaac Yea, I have been using FlixZone for since march myself :)
@Luke Isaac Thanks, signed up and it seems to work :D Appreciate it !
@Blaine Jalen Glad I could help =)
Awesome 🤙
How about very soft tire foams or no foams...the tires should grip better
Awesome video. Can you ditch the heat sink from the esc?
Nope it’s all epoxied in there pretty solid.

Did you need to adjust the preload on the shocks much?
Yeah the shocks have Tamiya CC01 springs on them so it’s almost a droop setup now. The stock axial white springs became too stiff

Holmes Revolver
I am this trucks biggest fan..!!! LOL.! Really great stuff.! Well done sir.!
Thank you. This has to be the easiest and most economical build I’ve ever done. No kidding.

Interesting!
Nylon or carbon fiber links in the future??
nah these aluminum ones weigh almost nothing, I bought some carbon but the weight difference was so minimal I just left the stock ones in place
Hey, just curious, what bumper is that on the blue truck far left?
Dan P that’s a custom aluminum bumper I built
pretty darn lite.
Is it just me or does that transmission look like a Gen 7 trans?
7:20 what magic is this
I don’t know but it was interesting
Light weight I key 😀
Do not nosedive this chassis. Might be carbon I heve seen several snap just behind fte front/rear crossbar. Also may not use able in some competitions

Tires sound like they have leaks
That’s the red Jeep body I wanted know how to get one
Michael Overstreet that’s the Jconcepts Bog HoG body and there are links in the description to get one from
eBay or amazon
Exocaged RC amain also carries them
aaron mcguin yep. I don’t have an affiliate account with them so that’s why I link eBay and amazon.
Just wish they had that body without the beg cage design. If it was a plain bed I'd be getting one
Mike J I completely agree
Can you not use the power switch ?
Moto Joe yeah I use it
@@ExocagedRC I was thinking you could lose a gram or 2 w/o it
turn down your dremmel and it won't make such a mess of the plastic

Awesome!🤙
