Thanks a lot. It’s helped me in 2021. I did this same procedure and my SET is working again. It’s looks like a factory problem of KIA. If I have the problem again, now I know how to solve it. Thank 🙏🏾
Had exactly the same issue. Had to press the cancel-button hard like 5-6 times every time I drove the car before the set-button would work. Tried to spray CRC that cleans electronics on the buttons and now it works. I think that the car thought that the cancel button was pressed all the time and therefore “set” didn’t work. But after CRC no more need to press on the cancel button 6 times.
alarcilam my problem did come back and thought CRC fixed it temporarily, I bought a new keypad for the steering wheel on eBay and now it works every day.🤷🏼♂️
Had to laugh, especially when you pressed the cancel button 5 times, just like me lol. There is a fix for this problem now. The clock springs are the problem. You replace the module in the steering wheel. Lots of RUclips vids to show you how.
Hi all, I fixed this issue on my Kia sportage by spraying a good car electronics cleaner like the CRC one.. plenty of spray on the switch "set" lever, let it dry and no problems at all after.. it is just dust.. a user below solved this way as well.. when took the car to the dealer they said: problem is the switch, costs 290 bucks.

The garage had to take the steering wheel and air bag out in order to swap the switch and this took a good hour and a 1/2 as I remember. I still have the car, and I use the cruise control all the time and works great.
Mine 2011 sorento started with cruise control button sticking. Now none of them work. Most drastic of all the Bluetooth voice command. You have to push the speak button to set it up & NO controls on my steering wheel work! Any advise other than a Kia dealership? I’m not ok without my music 😞

I have a 2011 Kia Sorento . my Cruise control was working , I used it all the time .about Christmas time 2018 I was in Kansas and I got in to my Suv, started up and got on the high way ,I hit the Turn on cruise light that came on. but when I hit the no cruise light came on to hit, I cancel out and tried it again, so does any one now how to fix this, is this a defect that we as owners should have to worry about . I have read some story's on here that they come on after words , it something I should worry about .. please help me from getting a speeding ticket , this is my fist Kia,, should I go back to chevy blazer /?

I still got my air bag light on but yeh the clock spring fix my cruise control and my horn. Idk about the air bag light i think its a recall. It’s definitely a fixer upper type kinda car 😂😂
Hi After 6 years of complaining to Kia each time went in for a service as they said could not replicated. As the warranty was due to expire I took on a test drive myself, showed the same fault in the video. They replaced the control switch on the steering wheel and never happened again in last 9 months. I think this should have been fixed long time ago, but they have to remove air bag etc so guess was a bit of a hassle for them. Hope you get sorted.
@@keithhulskramer146 Thanks a lot for your time. I think I can fix it myself. Only 4 screws to loosen, carefully take out the air bag without deconnecting the cable, take out the cruise controle switch module, clean the plug and connecctor and reconnect. it is worth a try. I'll keep you informed. Thanks again
@@scottf2450 I tried but was unable to take out the airbag ...even by taking out the screws I was unable to disassemble the wheel. I will try again now that I have more time.
Guy's I get the same issues regardless of what speed you do, (30mph to say 90mph), Kia garage say cannot replicate the fault and therefore cannot fix even with video evidence

Same problem here, same car.. CRC also fixed mine..

When my cruise control isn't working I find giving the Horn quick tap works easier than hitting cancel button five times.

not true, cruse control can go into effect after you meet 25 mph.

hey guys... Cruse control is not working if your car speed is lower than 25MPH.. That is the design and not a problem.
Cruise control doesn’t work with speeds less than 35 miles an hour ! It won’t engage below that
Not true, I have fixed now, just the on off switch fault and works from around 25 mph on my car every time now.
