Did you get into Ranked the second you got the chance to do so? Or were you smarter than me? 😐 I really hope you liked Part 2! It was really much work and you would really help me out with a quick Like and an Subscription! Or even a super Thanks right below the video 🫶 Thank ya’ll for all the Love and Support!
Something that helps every League player is sticking with a single champions, and only changing when it gets banned or when you feels like you extracted 100% of that champion potential (or the closer to that you feel you can) So a deep dive into a champion you find interesting is very worthwhile!
I agree with Loliston, although I want to add: Once you feel very comfortable in a specific role (support, bot carry, etc.) I recommend trying the other roles to learn their perspective of the game (although this is more of a long-term thing).
Yo, I really love your videos so far. Watching them also really motivates me to play league for some reason xD. I would also love to see you explore a specific champion further, for your next video. Try to learn their identity and document your findings type of video.
@Noitcereonyea, dont play it now and better dont touch jungle for next 100-300 hours. This lane is like switching from tft to league for the first time but somehow even worse. The Best thing for now it to stick to your chosen champion and master it
Cannot recommend muting chat enough; almost everything you need to communicate with your team about can be done with pings 😊 also, when starting I would recommend champs that don't rely too heavily on skillshots (its just another thing you need to worry about on top of everything else league is throwing at you)
@maartenvandersteen5134 Cause taking accountability is hard and league is not well understood. It feels bad to die and the human instinct is to find someone to blame
Always remember that there are tons of players who have been Iron 4 for years, and they still play it constantly. That means that there's always room for improvement, that even at that level the game has value, and that you just need to find your own way to enjoy it. The game is objectively good, and by muting anyone even slightly negative you remove most of its flaws
I first started league about a year ago and played ranked at lvl 30 because I’m competitive. It was a huge mistake, and tanked my mmr because there are so many little things to learn and remember I was just not up to snuff. Climbing out of iron 4 0lp up to bronze was huge for me, and I was so proud, because it honestly felt impossible at the time, gaining way less than I lost. Now I’m gold 2 and working on my climb towards platinum! I honestly think it just takes a lot of time, because things like checking the mini map frequently or remembering what champs do or when objectives are up and you need to rotate just takes experience. Good luck on your climb, you got this!
For years and years whenever I played leagu for a bit I always ended up in silver, 3 Weeks ago I decided to auto mute the chat every game, use the streamer mode to not see peoples rank borders, or names. Now I'm actually gold and still climbing. The toxicity killed me, made me hate my team mates so much and made me forget about the actual game and its state. Guys, if your struggling go to options and auto mute chat, it works wonders. Makes you being able to focus on the things that matter, not on what your team thinks.
I stopped playing League a long time ago and don't plan to go back, not just because of the toxicity but because I don't like the direction the game went. Even still, these videos are really well edited and very fun watches. Seeing your growth from a casual TFT player to gaining understanding of League's complexities is very cool.
Fellow support main here, you got this! The learning curve is a cliff and you might be standing in the valley but if you try to learn you can conquer the mountain! Also once you’ve learned not to panic the game can be enjoyable, my advice is to detach from the results and just focus on having a good game and a good time. Cheers and good luck!
I'm surprised your BF let you even read chat. The first thing I would recommend a new player to do is turn off chat. Even positive messages can be too distracting. Just turn off chat in the menu. edit: also what is this video quality? You're going to pop off for sure, you're making amazing content here.
I was very strong on the early LoL seasons but have not played for at least 6 or 7 years. I mean to but I never bring myself to actually log in to the toxic. You are giving me the courage to start over.
This really reminds me of when I started playing. Alistar jungle/sup just to get enough influence points to buy Anivia, all th way back in 2011 (still play her til this day) Playing with 25k ping because i was on dial up internet. Thank you for the reminder and I wish you the best of luck in future games.
One piece of advice I'd give, long term, is to increase the size of the mini map. Especially when you're new, the default size is way too small and makes it harder to see what's even going on. Crank it all the way up or close to 100% This way, it's harder to ignore and you have better vision of what might happen on the map.
Really like your videos. I am a new player in League as well. Iron 1 here. And I have over 2500 hours in Dota, a much more complicated game. Don't stress too much. Mental is everything. If you are having fun, which I definitely am, keep going. If you aren't, stop. Anyway, you edit really well and I wish you a happy journey through League.
So as a long time league player struggling with mental and so on i want to give some tips: 1. As soon as i feel the beginning of tilt rising up -> /mute all 2. XP range, is important and not focuse on enough for n00bs and in many guides. let your bf teach you the range ig it l 1/3 between t2 and t1 tower 2.1 farming when behind , drop the casters to not get poked , try to get the frontline. you will stay good in lane for your disadvantage 3. recalling -> go back when you farmed the wave and as soon as the canon spawns. its kinda like for midlane and bot just B when they got items but canon tanks 8 towershots so you lose like a canon and a frontline minion but get the rest of the wave exp wise 4. Boots when behind, priotize them cause dying more often means with boots you get faster to lane and so many more like the order you should do focus on objectives and when you whole team commits to smth you commit too but i havent figured that out tbh it depends . 6. Dont undervalue waveclear. you can win 3 tf's when you are pushed in to your nexus you dont have tempo to finish really. Enjoy the journey :)
That's a really nice video ! Good luck on your journey and don't let the tilt get to you :D - meaning always mute them damn pingmaxxers Also a podcast I highly recommand to get better at league is the Broken By Concept podcast with challenger coach talking about their coaching experience and stuff If you're receptive to their message and mentality (enphasis on mentality) you'll skyrocket like no other fresh Iron player Anyway GLHF !
Now imagine doing 12 years in here. You learn how to kill in this cage and at first your proud, until you see the mountain of corpses you stand on just to leave gold
Reminds me of when i was level 30 and doing ranked, it felt like i went against Goliaths and now after 5 years it feels so silly that i was so scared but i find myself getting annoyed with bad players, i eventually full muted myself because i was becoming toxic and didnt want to hurt the innocent players. This game is so good and you are not playing that bad by looking at your KDA, and even seeing the wards you place is showing like you are capable of playing this game, just be careful when playing with experienced players like your partner whos a veteran, the game will be harder, but in my opinion the only way you should play league is with friends, and rank is not important, its for the people who need their ego to be fed. good luck on the climb, and play some aram games whenever you can, it helps teach you some new champs but most importantly, team fights and playing together with a full team. this is the best part of the game when its a 5 vs 5 on dragon number 4 and every spell matters, aram is secretly the key for new players. aram meyhem is a bit harder but can be fun when you bored of everything else.
I believe ranked to be the best place to train and grow. Its what its there for. The more serious and brave players will be there. Can learn way more and have much better replays to study from there as well.
My first time getting a comment mentioned in someone's video...I'm honored 🤣 I thought we'd have at least a month before we got this video, but why put off tomorrow Yada yada. Good video, ma'am. Welcome to ranked! *may god have mercy on your soul* 😅
My recommendation. Don't learn the game playing support. I know it sounds odd, but I genuinely think you can come back to support if that's the role you want later once you learn the game a bit more. I think it's really important to learn other roles and take responsibility for the decisions you are making to really get a grasp of what is a good and bad decision. Often times people (not necessarily you) will play support and just follow what their teammates are doing without really thinking about whether it's correct or not and it stops them from making decisions of their own.
People who learn the game playing support and start trying to lead the team are even worse. Pinging assist at odd times, trying to make plays work out of thin air instead of spotting opportune timings, and generally trying to enforce your will on the team with no regard to camp spawns, wave states or sometimes even objective spawns. Support mains are often slower to learn to consider OPPORTUNITY COST, and are instead guided by their play making addiction, like an ADHD cocaine addict.
@maryfund Top is best for learning laning and where you will be punished the hardest for bad trade timing and wave management. Roaming as top also has the highest opportunity cost, but can have a huge impact if the other top isn't able to participate. This is the role where you can get the most destroyed by the smallest miscalculation or by a jungle gank you didn't see coming, and when the minutia of laning prowess is paramount. You must be aware of when your opponent is strong, when you are strong and the state of the wave. You are an experience glutton, you can miss minions, but you need to be around when they die. Wave management is key, and awareness of your opponents cool downs and minion xp is where you find those micro-advantages that grow over time. Mid is the best place to learn map awareness and resource management. You need to lane ok for a few minutes, but after buying half an item, you should be aware of what else is going on in the game and where you might be able to help between waves of minions. This also requires proactive thinking, because if you are going to stay in lane you need to conserve manna, but if you are going to roam you need to be able to spend manna to quickly clear the wave and still have enough left to fight. Forcing your lane opponent to use a lot of mana or pressuring their health bar is also a way to stop them from being able to effectively help their team. ADC is where you learn the importance of gold, selfishness, scaling, positioning on the edge of safety, and relying on teammates. ADC is all about two things: farming and team fighting, with the gold you got from farming. It's really nice when you have the better support and you can get extra gold from kills, but you MUST farm, you must keep your income up and you can't "win the lane" yourself so you can't rely on winning the lane to be the better adc, you need to acquire gold, buy items and turn those items into team-fight damage with positioning that isn't too aggressive nor too safe. You need to be aware of enemy cooldown usage and flashes, and you can't face-check anything. To be successful long term, you need to develop a mentality that will allow you to continue to farm gold and do your job in fights even when your support runs it down and flames you. Supports are a necessary evil and you will kiss their feet, even if they are trash, you will bite your tongue when they steal minions or ruin your beautiful wave-state, and you will compliment any good play they make, because their mental is paper. Jungle is best for learning the over all rhythm of the game, efficiency, and communication. Your time is the most flexible and valuable, and wasting your time is punishing. You also need to make conscious proactive decisions about whether to fight an objective or do something on the other side of the map and communicate your decision before your team dies at dragon without you. Whether to gank or not should be decided by you and your judgement of whether a gank will have a positive outcome, and/or be worth your time. No matter how many times an inept laner pings to or types angery complaints, ganking is always optional. Jungle has the highest responsibility for analyzing the state of the game and making decisions, so it should probably be the final position to learn. Finally Support: You control the outcome of bot-lane, you control vision and objective set-ups, you can warp the whole game through successful, well timed roams, and you have the power to work with everyone and keep them on the same page through helpful communication. All that said, if you don't run it down and flame your team, you will probably climb rank slowly by default, because supports are the most carriable role and contain some of the weakest mentals and least role mastery for their rank. If you can maintain lane pressure bot, place decent wards and team-fight ok, you will climb fast. Support is full of auto-fills mailing it in, and support mains who have minimal game knowledge, but think they know everything. If I want to have fun and ruin one persons whole day, I play top, if I want to control the whole game and force my team to win, while being flamed by solo laners, I play jungle, if I want to make my jungler's job easy, I play mid, if I think an adc champion is so broken right now that it's worth laning with an entitled skilless troll, I play adc, and if I want to climb with minimal stress and a positive team environment, and get collect friend requests from desperate adc mains after games, I play support. Recently I've been playing a lot of top and support, because I like jungle, but working around an inept top laner while they spam ping you is taxing, and I think there are some strong adc picks now, but none are worth laning with terrible humans. Mid lane is fun, but the multi-tasking part is exhausting. I play all positions, because I started in the pick order champ select era (with no pre-que roll select), and I used to earn my lp by being the most flexible player possible. Now I mostly choose my role around which position seems filled with the most ineptitude, which usually means a lot of support, but has also lead me to top lane a bunch this season.
@MrLainon god I hate supports that sit in the bush 24/7 doing nothing. same with blitzcranks only doing full range hooks hitting nothing losing our entire lane pressure for the next 20 seconds in an instant every time it happens, I hate Leona that only go in the moment they arrive in lane going out of laning phase 0/6. Support is one of the hardest role. You need to know exactly what each champ can and cant do to be able to counter it, as well as playing at your own strengths without overstepping. And you are responsible to get your marksman through the early game, so your responsibility is doubled.
@SETHthegodofchaos to be fair sitting in the bush and doing nothing is at least better than a support standing BEHIND you and typing. Also, even worse than losing lane pressure, is losing lane pressure then trying to fight anyway. Worse than both of these is Yumi, going top and typing about how bad they think you are while sitting on the top laner sapping their much needed xp. Honestly, I've been that top laner too, and I'd rather be 1v2 bot with the support muted, than carrying around a semi afk experience sponge.
this is another reason why I mostly stick to the mobile game, the people there are less toxic and it's more enjoyable. The controls are easier and the overall camera is less overwhelming. But I'm not the most competitive player as well, I play for fun, not for frustration so I step back from people who take this game too seriously and stay in the bubble I feel comfortable in. Good luck for your journey and collect some adventurous memories~
Girl i occasianally play league for the last ten years orr so. It is ALWAYS has been like that. For all new players. It doesnt change. It is player who either adapt or drop the game (which is a right choice btw hahah) Anyway nice video!
Mute all, play your own game, look at the map, only go to the plays you think are good, never blame your team, blame yourself. Do this and you WILL improve
the youtube algorithm brought me here, i actually got a new fresh account a while ago and played alot of normals draft and aram trying to get 10cs per min. I’m currently in gold3 but the system is putting me with/against emerald and plat. Can’t really play more than 2matches coz’ of my work, I’m from italy EUW server, hope to find you one of this days cheers 🎉
Unsure if you've done this already, but you should change the settings in the pre-game client settings menu to in-game/interface->change chat visibility-> Premade only (party). If you mute all every game you will miss important pings and be unable to ping yourself. I also just started playing league 2 months ago, my best advice would be to pick a single character in a single role and really master piloting them and understanding how to best play your role. With VOD review and some coaching from my friends I hit silver yesterday (Irelia - Top) you can do it too!
ive been an on and off players for years, like 2014 start, i came back the past 2 weeks after watching imaqtpie videos, and thats why your video got recommended to me. i love seeing new people in competitive games because you get to ask them questions, like how did u get into this game? why did u want to play? cos the last person i saw, their sister told them to play, they went 0-20 3 games in a row, then uninstalled, and that is what i expect everyone new to experience, or they play ARAM with their friends and nothing matters, we press buttons, and we keep them away from summoner's rift. i have never played ranked, the game's cool and all, but i dont get why anyone would want to, so why did you want to? normals already have MMR, if you go to op gg it says the bracket, on yours it says iron and bronze in normals. and 2nd is that, isnt the appeal of this game that you like a champion so u want to play them and do well? like u picked the pink magic girl that shoots lasers, im pretty sure she's awful, but it's ok because you like her, you didnt look up a tier list, or a guide, u just picked her. so you learn all her stuff over X games, find what she's good at, what she's bad at, have your pop off game where u hit like 6 bindings. but once you're playing ranked, you should be tryharding, youre playing exclusively to win (or at least learn), so you should pick what u think is strong. and inside that, part of learning the game is realising a champion isn't good, or effective, and you should swap off them before u get flamed, but that feels awful, youre knowingly letting your team down picking a bad champion or a bad build in a mode where it says youre trying your hardest to win, and thats why i dont like ranked. i also genuinely think lux is hard to win with for new players because she's unintuitive, her range is massive, so u want to stand back, but you never hit anything from there unless youre throwing shit over a wall, so you have to stand closer, but that requires a lot of bravery, or experience, the whole game is things like that, just knowledge checks, flowcharts. even in that moment where u said u didnt facechedked, i was like "omg is she gonna E the bush since it grants vision" u facechecked LOL. my opinion of league is that the game is good, but if anyone recommends someone else to play it, u should report them to the police.
The two full length videos you’ve uploaded on this channel are great. Would LOVE to see more of your journey. I’ll be starting a very similar one soon and these are pretty motivational 👍🏻 keep up the hard work. You’re doing GREAT! 💪❤️
Advance tips maybe because I may be a bronze player but I see very good improvements as a ranked casual. New tips, cycle spells in fights and always don't press too much on spells because enemies will always want to get close to you. It's a psychological warfare where your spells with CC in the early and mid-game will scare people when they don't see your spell not in cooldown for them to have the opportunity of not taking damage. Muting, they say is the best thing which you should listen, I am in Asia server which is quiet so I rarely understand my teammates language but we move in one by action. Please don't put wards directly on top of dragons because players can see vision and save that extra ward unless you need to put pink wards on top of the bush inside the dome or it's early game. I am happy for you that you have some good walking movements, that's very good as the fundamental thing in League. Reminder for habit on looking map or surroundings few minutes at a time repetitively and slowly, keep in mind League is like a sport so making muscle memory by repeating the game again and again is priority on knowing some things in the game but will all clicked soon when the time comes. And also, your boyfriend is the best League player that I have heard and seen.
Keep going, its really long journey, but that feeling when u actually carry game or help to your team to the victory is that feeling what we love and keep us play the game...I like your videos and idea sharing your exp, nostalgic moments when i started with league too...Try not panic in games and listen to advices and u will get better, like we all did...
Iron is a hellscape where nothing makes sense. Everything I learned up to that point was thrown out the window by every player in Iron. Then they talk down to you like they aren’t in Iron. It’s a real drain on your mental health lol
If you are in iron, and you dont belong there, your best decision is either fully swapping champ pool to mega snowballing champs, or leveling a new account. When i heard +15 -18 i got literal shudders 😂
As a fellow veteran who played from 2013. And stop playing after 6-7 For years and coming back lately. It is indeed feels like all beginnings again removing the rust and difficulty times. Heavens I am planning to go back rank but I noticing a lot of mistakes I'm making. So don't worry. Take one step in a time learning every mechanic you can. Rank is not too bad to begin because you now taste the feeling of what look like when you know what you're doing. Muting the chat was a smart move. Focus on the gameplay and the teammates you can together. Sometimes there will be bad games, sometimes teammates just literally doing mistakes without even thinking twice. Not even need you to do anything to make those things happen. But continue persevere, learning every step. And you will continue to get better. It's a progress of one step at a time. But you will see it. As a fellow. Warrior that fights right now in the Rift. To return after so long. The cruelty of grinding will be in peril and difficult. But you shall do it. Believe in yourself and take sometimes breaks. It helps a lot. And maybe small guides in Internet helps as well. Never give up. And a reference to Dark Souls. ( Stay safe, friend, and never Dare go hollow )
doing house chores while listening to the video and suddenly i'm moved to tears. What the.. sometimes we struggle to remember how hard the game is especially for beginners. I have some friends who recently started and I realized the hardest thing to do as a veteran player is to give them guidance and resilience to keep trying. I'm glad to hear these stories, I wish my friends had this mentality but most of them quit already
it is so beautiful to hear that my video resonates so much with your current situation, but on the other hand it is really tough that they quit already.. the learning curve in this game is so steep!!
I watched your two videos and loved them! I find your journey really interesting to follow, you rarely see anyone starting League in 2026 (I think you already knew why...), Keep going I’m already excited for your next video!
IDK about League, but these videos are fire, good storytelling, good pacing, good visuals. I want to see more videos regardless if they are League related or not.
Ah yes, the good old new player experience. Thank god, riot actually acknowledges it and wants to implement a new rank because of that since there is still a big difference between an iron player (perceived as the worst of the worst by the community) who played lol for 3 years and a complete beginner since lol is so complex.
0:27 the katarina flahes your lux stun while runing on you . definitively not a new player 😂 ! Cant imagine how many experienced player you faced! Hope you find your elo fast and start to improve 😊
Yeah seeing that I was thinking "damn, Iron must be pretty hard nowadays". There are definitely a lot of smurfs around which is a real shame for actual new players.
Everyone improves at their own rythm ! It took me like 5 years to reach Bronze and i still was Iron most of the time : Bronze was my peak elo. Meanwhile i have a friend that was Silver after only one month of playing the game. It took me like 10 years to reach the level she got in one month XD
girl, this is peak video making right here, keep going. and honestly the best thing you can do to improve is watch videos about the fundamentals and then just play A LOT of games. experience will help you more than anything else. keep it up!
ranked is a completely different beast. it's a whole new game really. what makes it worse is the amount of smurfs you'll face just for THEIR ego boost to stomp newer players just to feel something. my suggestion? find a role and a champion you are comfortable with. if you are playing morgana, support mid are good. if you want to try something different, play draft. never try something in ranked in terms of champion. find 3-4 champions and get good on them, learn by experience, what is applicable in your elo isn't applicable in higher elo and vice versa. if a champion is giving you trouble, play a couple of games with that champion to learn their limits, even if in surface level it will help. and the most important thing if you play as a support (or any other role in fact) you cannot be having chemistry with everyone, it's not the champion, nor the player, different minds think differently
I started LoL when it came out with my brother. I stopped playing in 2018 I think, Season 8. I started a few weeks ago again and are on my way to Platin. To be honest, I was ranked Bronze IV and it was bad. But I do feel the pain of someone who simply can't have their brain, eyes and thoughts on multiple things at once, hell, at Gold people are still utterly bad and my decision making often also lacks. But if you see the opportunity, the slight mistake of an enemy jungler you do learn to immediately punish it. Again and again until he's behind and you farm them. We tried to make my sister play the game too, well, we stopped. It's like someone typing with two fingers instead of 10 - it's not their fault, they simply have other skills that don't involve gaming MOBA's. And LoL will take it's toll on your mind until you learn it and when you have the grasp of it, the other players will infest you like a virus with their toxicity :)
Love your way of narrating, it's very wholesome, please keep it up! As for your ranked journey: If you truly want to snatch that bronze badge, and later silver or more, then you have to make the step back into ranked games eventually. Yes, a few (or many) more normal draft games will help you, but they primarily help you master your champion. The flow, pacing, complexity of the game changes considerably when you step into ranked, as you have noticed. So no matter when you do it (again), it will always be difficult - and this difficulty ramps up noticeably with each rank you gain. Don't let early failures discourage you, they are simply pointers to areas you can improve in. And if you want to seriously get better, you will! (Start reviewing your games, it helps a ton - especially if you review them together with your BF, I reckon)
"The old me would have run in blind" -watches her walk straight into the bush by drake and ward it without throwing e first to give vision. .... what exactly do you call that :P
Ich freu mich auf deinen weiteren Weg mit lol! Im Endeffekt geht's vor allem um Spaß, und das haben die meisten vergessen die nur noch wegen ihrer Sucht am PC sitzen...
Great follow up video! I am enjoying this series from you, and the editing and story told here is once again compelling. I find that the unranked games serve another purpose as well, that is learning how OTHER champions work. As you master your first 3-5 champions in their various roles, each game can give you massive insight into what champs contribute to their team in group fights. You also learn effective counter strategies over time that only comes from game time. Were you ulted by Morderkaiser straight to the shadow realm? Play a champ that can clone themselves and trick him into wasting it on the clone! I practiced this with Wukong and that play alone made me learn him. I've played him for almost 2 years now and still learn new interactions all the time between him and lesser played champs. Anyway, it seems like you're willing to take your comment's suggestions and that will definitely make for a better series for all of us. GLHF :)
How bad can it be? *Went into the ranked trenches* *FAFO* Holy shit you weren't kidding! LMFAO Welcome to League of Legends when your opponents are serious: No quarter will be given, no mercy shall be provided.
Good job! You've come a long way and still have a great mental perspective. A lot of players fail from the beginning by approaching ranked with a mentality that is already lost. I really like how realistic you are about your skill and experience level. The biggest piece of advice I give to new and struggling players is also to MUTE ALL, so I love that you brought that up. Even after many years of playing and getting better, I still mute at the first sign of negativity. I will try to contribute some of the main things that have helped me to continue playing, improving and most importantly enjoying the game after all these years: - never fall into the mindset of the game being rigged against you, or that your teammates are the reason you can't climb. yes, there are issues with MMR and rank system but at the end of the day, you are responsible for your rank. - play only 1 or 2 champions to focus on mastering them (me personally I only play Lux support because I really enjoy it. she is basically the entire game for me - and yes, she is viable all the way up to Challenger!) - keep watching RUclips guides like SkillCapped, but never trust any one source of advice/coach/guide or streamer exclusively. - competitive League is a lot like life; no one has all the answers, and no one wins every time, not even rank 1 players or Faker himself. it evolves and changes every year and specifics change every patch. find a way to adapt and keep having fun. - consistently making the correct (even if it means safe or "passive") decisions over time is what will get you ahead. even Challenger peak players can struggle against Emeralds on a per-game basis. what matters is that you don't get frustrated. - watch some top solo queue players who are not toxic and they explain their decisions as they play. ask yourself why they do every movement or decision they make. a great one right now is Azzapp, a Vel'Koz support main who recently hit rank 1 on EUW server. - find some LoL content that is wholesome to you and you enjoy, but you can still learn from. I really recommend you check out Yozu (Challenger Lux main) and Cupic (top 10 ranked NA support player), they are both very relaxed. - as far as in-game strategy/skill, do NOT 100% trust the advice of anyone who is not at least *currently* Grandmaster - even coaches, no matter how famous they are! note that I did not offer any advice on how to actually play the game - this is the reason. Lastly, remember that getting to, for example Platinum, can take years or it can take months. It all depends on your mental state, what knowledge you absorb and how you use it. Even with prior MOBA experience, when I first started playing LoL, I was stuck in Silver for years, frustrated. However, I broke out of some habits, controlled my emotions, and quickly went from Silver to Emerald in just months. Anyway, personally I hope to see more League of Legends content from you. Hope you keep it up in ranked and have a good time. It would be nice to see you dive more into the realm of LoL with things like reactions to their music, Worlds teasers, cinematics, documentaries, etc. Good luck 🙂👍
It would be cool to see u try all the different lanes, and how u find it compares as a beginner. and maybe a couple full games. And trying aram, where ur forced to play new champions. Both would help u learn the game better
Hey, I recommend watching at some tutorials online, there are plenty of content on youtube, some that even breaks down what to focus on at each rank, simply playing sometimes is not enough since it's very easy to plateau without knowing what to actually improve on in this game.
For many people whether a game is Fun is all contingent on whether they got the win and not whether they played well enough to win. If you're having fun, you will not stop playing and eventually this will even out and you'll climb. Randomly decided myself to play League a lot more this year and see if I can climb. So this video gave me a chuckle (also your partner has the patience of a saint) hfgl
If the goal is to learn, playing ranked is better than playing normal games as players against you will try punishing every mistake they see. Get punished, identify your mistakes you’ll get better, play for improvement regardless the lp gains and loss.
Referred here from the BBC podcast. Thought I'd share some tips to make life easier if you want to keep going: 1. If your main reason for muting all is the chat (not pings) and you don't type yourself, I recommend going into settings -> change chat visibility - "Premade Only (Party)". This way, you don't have to type /mute all every game (saving time and focus), and you will still see pings (which can be very useful for learning ganking timings and drawing your eyes to the map). 2. As others have mentioned, support is not great for learning the game as a new player. Same can be said for jungle. You miss out on deeloing crucial skills for a long time. If that's the most fun to you, stick with it. But, if you want to feel what it is like to get good at and learn the game quickly, play a solo lane. 3. Stick to one champion at a time, two max. Gaining the muscle memory for how to control your champion is more important than anything else. Wave management, macro, vision, jungle tracking... all of this means nothing if you don't know how to hit people while avoiding getting hit yourself. 4. Tying into the tip above, if you have to focus on one thing to improve when it comes to mastering your champion, it should be increasing your farm. Dealing damage consistently is the most important thing. If you fall behind in farm, you will not do damage anymore, and will take more in return. It's as simple as that. It doesn't matter if you hit every skill shot if you are behind in gold and XP, as your abilities won't do anything to your stronger opponents (unless you are playing support, in which case you always can contribute to a team fight simply by hitting people with CC; one of the reasons it's harder to learn the fundamentals as a support main). 5. Be kind to yourself, because nobody else will. This means not trying to push yourself to learn too much or improve too quickly. Set realistic goals for each game. If you hit them, you're winning-even if you're losing. Also, don't beat yourself up after mistakes. Treat yourself the way you wish your team would.
thanks so much you took the time and gave me all of this advice! i most certainly already switched away from support to top/mid. i am also currently trying to find my main .. really thought this was an easier journey. but everything is coming together .. slowly but it is!
@maryfund Least I can do when you took the time to make this beautifully edited video and let everyone watch it for free. 👍 Looking forward to seeing who your main is! I was extremely unlucky as Azir was the only champion that spoke to me, and everyone I knew told me to stop learning him because he was too hard and one of the worst solo queue champions. And it was ROUGH. But I loved his playstyle, and after a grueling process where I dropped to Bronze 4 and took a year just to hit plat, I eventually hit high Masters with him. It really is all about enjoyment. You'll know when your champion finds you. "Part 3, finding my main"?
Been playing since 2013, the game is now my job and I can't ever get enough of it. The toxic part is easy to forget when everything else is so good. The game made me a better person outside of League as well, taught me how to deal with people too!
Heh...this takes me back to when all of LoL started 😀 Transitioned from DOtA (the original one) so I had basic knowledge of mechanics but it was the same for me. Just hang in there....support is blamed for almost everything (also my starting role 🙂 now top/mid) If I run into you in game, promise to be kind (personally do not play so much anymore as real life and family takes priority)
There is a chat setting that is called party only that removes the chat so you don't have to manually mute it. This setting is fantastic I highly recommend it and so does every serious league coach or high level player. Pings is more than enough to communicate. And if someone is toxic via pings, just instantly mute them via the tab menu! League has so much to think about and pay attention to that you don't have any mind to spare on text chat or spam pings.
Im currently learning and climbing but im not a new player, i went from iron 2 and am currently bronze 1. It takes a lot of effort to get better, having the idea of learning instead of my lp has helped ^^
I'm a dota player and from time to time when I want to have ez games I go to league. Just got back to league first week of Feb, it gave me bronze II, I'm emerald now. This game is so ez lmao.
Did you get into Ranked the second you got the chance to do so? Or were you smarter than me? 😐
I really hope you liked Part 2! It was really much work and you would really help me out with a quick Like and an Subscription! Or even a super Thanks right below the video 🫶
Thank ya’ll for all the Love and Support!
Something that helps every League player is sticking with a single champions, and only changing when it gets banned or when you feels like you extracted 100% of that champion potential (or the closer to that you feel you can)
So a deep dive into a champion you find interesting is very worthwhile!
The Best thing for now it to stick to your chosen champion and master it
@aqui2000-g4n hey, what do you have against jgl? I think it is a good role for beginners, because it is easier than the others.
''They fight for a digital number that defines their standing in life'' xD kinda accurate
8:03 "for five beautiful seconds, It felt like the rift belonged to me." cinema 🤚😐✋
Plat support main here: keep going remember lol is a horror game and your job is to spot the jump scares!
hahaha that is actually a great way to look at it, horror game it is! 😂
Fiddle sticks otp here: yes it is, gl running.
@JoeRaula-f2bi am a senna OTP i live in fear everygame
@dell2295hahaha mb
@JoeRaula-f2b its k lol fiddle is spooky but no one will have me panic dumping my abilities quicker then shaco from behind lol
as a main jungler i must confirm... even in NORMAL games mute all chat is needed for keeping own sanity...
Spot on, chat is there to help teammates flame each other, not something that should ever be read
Fellow jungler main here, why do low Elo players always blame jungler first lmao
but by keeping it on and challenging your mental aptitude can get you far ahead in life😂
Cannot recommend muting chat enough; almost everything you need to communicate with your team about can be done with pings 😊 also, when starting I would recommend champs that don't rely too heavily on skillshots (its just another thing you need to worry about on top of everything else league is throwing at you)
@maartenvandersteen5134 Cause taking accountability is hard and league is not well understood. It feels bad to die and the human instinct is to find someone to blame
"... but then, Game 34 happened."
Damn, that's rough
this feels like an epic anime show for some reason and i wanna watch the next episode of it
thank you omg !!!!
i feel the same way, crazy video!
Bro that fat jinx pfp made me almost die on a sip of water.
That's actually really reassuring to hear, thank you! 😊
Ive been iron / bronze my entire league career, for nearly a decade.
@aetherkid And it's still fun, right?
TRUE
Kadeem is happier than all of us.
Good luck on your climb, you got this!
that gives me so much hope to keep going, thank you for sharing your story! 😊
Happend to me too i was hard stuck iron 4 for over 6 mouths. It took me less time to get to plat than to get out of iron
For years and years whenever I played leagu for a bit I always ended up in silver,
3 Weeks ago I decided to auto mute the chat every game, use the streamer mode to not see peoples rank borders, or names.
As someone who is returning to the game for the first time in years this series is funny and understandable
Ye this feels about right. If you keep fighting and learn you will get there.
thank you, I'm definitely going to keep fighting AND learning! ✨
I got really emotional when you talked about game 34. Good job!
Damn, new rank player channel in 2026, must show support, subscribed!
This is a fun series! 😺
thaaank youuu! appreciate you like it ✨🫶🏻
I'm surprised your BF let you even read chat. The first thing I would recommend a new player to do is turn off chat. Even positive messages can be too distracting. Just turn off chat in the menu.
edit: also what is this video quality? You're going to pop off for sure, you're making amazing content here.
will do thanks!!
@maryfund I think I edited my comment after you commented, if you hearted it it got removed, can I have another 😊
I was very strong on the early LoL seasons but have not played for at least 6 or 7 years. I mean to but I never bring myself to actually log in to the toxic. You are giving me the courage to start over.
that makes me so happy to hear, you totally should give it a try!
Don't do It.
It's only toxic if you read the chat.
I mean usually.
Inters gonna int.
Quitters gonna quit.
This really reminds me of when I started playing. Alistar jungle/sup just to get enough influence points to buy Anivia, all th way back in 2011 (still play her til this day) Playing with 25k ping because i was on dial up internet.
Thank you for the reminder and I wish you the best of luck in future games.
Another great video! Hope that you continue making them! Your voice is like ASMR, very pleasant! Take care my friend and be easy! Cheers!
Sick edits! Everything you said was pretty much on point lol welcome to ranked league. It sucks, you're gonna love it
One piece of advice I'd give, long term, is to increase the size of the mini map. Especially when you're new, the default size is way too small and makes it harder to see what's even going on.
Crank it all the way up or close to 100%
This way, it's harder to ignore and you have better vision of what might happen on the map.
So as a long time league player struggling with mental and so on i want to give some tips:
1. As soon as i feel the beginning of tilt rising up -> /mute all
2. XP range, is important and not focuse on enough for n00bs and in many guides. let your bf teach you the range ig it l 1/3 between t2 and t1 tower
2.1 farming when behind , drop the casters to not get poked , try to get the frontline. you will stay good in lane for your disadvantage
3. recalling -> go back when you farmed the wave and as soon as the canon spawns. its kinda like for midlane and bot just B when they got items but canon tanks 8 towershots so you lose like a canon and a frontline minion but get the rest of the wave exp wise
4. Boots when behind, priotize them cause dying more often means with boots you get faster to lane
and so many more like the order you should do focus on objectives and when you whole team commits to smth you commit too but i havent figured that out tbh it depends .
6. Dont undervalue waveclear. you can win 3 tf's when you are pushed in to your nexus you dont have tempo to finish really.
Enjoy the journey :)
Agree with so many - Mute all is one of the best things you can do in ranked if you want to preserve your sanity XD
We've all been there. Just keep pushing and try to get 1% better every game!
Lol is basically 80% self torture and 20% slight fun
That's a really nice video !
Good luck on your journey and don't let the tilt get to you :D - meaning always mute them damn pingmaxxers
Also a podcast I highly recommand to get better at league is the Broken By Concept podcast with challenger coach talking about their coaching experience and stuff
If you're receptive to their message and mentality (enphasis on mentality) you'll skyrocket like no other fresh Iron player
Anyway GLHF !
you just earned a subscriber lmao great video. made me chuckle and remember my first time ranking
the algorithm has chosen, all hail the yt gods
Great job!! The trick is to play ranked not for LP, but to get enemies around your skill level for a balanced match while you play for fun :)
im loving this series. excited for the episode where you hit challenger
I loved the video, my girlfriend is starting to get curious about league and i will show her this as a warning XD
Our experiences have been so similar it is unreal I hit Bronze 2 today though you can do it Mary I believe. 10 weeks in for me.
It's cute to see all the chatter that once went silently through our own heads verbalised.
that was SO well said omg
My first time getting a comment mentioned in someone's video...I'm honored 🤣
I thought we'd have at least a month before we got this video, but why put off tomorrow Yada yada.
Omg I had this thought earlier that day.. im never learning last hitting or real fighting.. im yeah, just supporting. i will try some different roles!
The highs like game 34 are what keep you coming back lol
the youtube algorithm brought me here, i actually got a new fresh account a while ago and played alot of normals draft and aram trying to get 10cs per min. I’m currently in gold3 but the system is putting me with/against emerald and plat. Can’t really play more than 2matches coz’ of my work, I’m from italy EUW server, hope to find you one of this days cheers 🎉
wow 10cs/min already is crazyyy! hope we meet in a game soon! 🥳
It’s so funny 😆 specially comments from your boy haha
You have learned the first rule of league.
Random players are the worst part of the game.
im happy you enjoy the journey of improving and figuring out the fun of playing so many unique situations only league can provide!
thank you so much, it really is a wild journey! ✨
thank you so much, i’m glad you enjoyed them! 🫶🏻 i willll keep going!!!
Keep going, its really long journey, but that feeling when u actually carry game or help to your team to the victory is that feeling what we love and keep us play the game...I like your videos and idea sharing your exp, nostalgic moments when i started with league too...Try not panic in games and listen to advices and u will get better, like we all did...
trying not to panic is a really big challenge for me 💀
Another great video, I love the way you use the rotation high shots of the rift, it's such a simple but cool effect
thankkk youuu!!!
@PoiColleHonestly though. There’s no getting out of that basement by grinding. That’s for sure 😂
1 trick with trundle and ignore the other lanes.
Your team starts to "get better" at taking towers once the entire enemy team is fighting you.
Thanks for the vid, this calmed me down after a long day of losing almost every single game ❤
awww i'm so glad my suffering could help you relax! ❤️
I'm glad to hear these stories, I wish my friends had this mentality but most of them quit already
it is so beautiful to hear that my video resonates so much with your current situation, but on the other hand it is really tough that they quit already.. the learning curve in this game is so steep!!
probably the most wholesome lol content i have ever seen, i wish you good luck on the grind
thank youu!!
I watched your two videos and loved them! I find your journey really interesting to follow, you rarely see anyone starting League in 2026 (I think you already knew why...), Keep going I’m already excited for your next video!
thanks for watching, I'm excited for the next video too! 😊
both Lux APC and Lux support are based as heck and great choices for low ELOs like ours
IDK about League, but these videos are fire, good storytelling, good pacing, good visuals. I want to see more videos regardless if they are League related or not.
oh wow, i really appreciate that!!
Ah yes, the good old new player experience.
Thank god, riot actually acknowledges it and wants to implement a new rank because of that since there is still a big difference between an iron player (perceived as the worst of the worst by the community) who played lol for 3 years and a complete beginner since lol is so complex.
Great second video! I‘m curious about your ranked journey and I wish you lots of fun!
thank you so much! hope i can make it out of iron! ✨
Another banger, u really doing a good job! keeep it up with ur editing one day u gonna be a big fish out there!
thaaankkk youuu!!
0:27 the katarina flahes your lux stun while runing on you . definitively not a new player 😂 ! Cant imagine how many experienced player you faced! Hope you find your elo fast and start to improve 😊
Tell me about it.. its really hard in iron not gonna lie...
Yeah seeing that I was thinking "damn, Iron must be pretty hard nowadays". There are definitely a lot of smurfs around which is a real shame for actual new players.
Get it girl! I came back to this toxic game this season after 5 years away and I understand the grind/climb struggle. Love your videos! ❤️
glad you're enjoying them, it really is a crazy climb! ❤️
Everyone improves at their own rythm ! It took me like 5 years to reach Bronze and i still was Iron most of the time : Bronze was my peak elo. Meanwhile i have a friend that was Silver after only one month of playing the game. It took me like 10 years to reach the level she got in one month XD
crazy 30 was the lvl cap way back before season 7
"in normal games people play for fun". oh man it isn't like that now XD
girl, this is peak video making right here, keep going. and honestly the best thing you can do to improve is watch videos about the fundamentals and then just play A LOT of games. experience will help you more than anything else. keep it up!
thank you so much, so happy you liked the videoo!!! i'll definitely keep playing and learning! ✨
ranked is a completely different beast. it's a whole new game really. what makes it worse is the amount of smurfs you'll face just for THEIR ego boost to stomp newer players just to feel something. my suggestion? find a role and a champion you are comfortable with. if you are playing morgana, support mid are good. if you want to try something different, play draft. never try something in ranked in terms of champion. find 3-4 champions and get good on them, learn by experience, what is applicable in your elo isn't applicable in higher elo and vice versa. if a champion is giving you trouble, play a couple of games with that champion to learn their limits, even if in surface level it will help. and the most important thing if you play as a support (or any other role in fact) you cannot be having chemistry with everyone, it's not the champion, nor the player, different minds think differently
/mute all
The most important ingame command.
I swear you had way more subscribers this production is great !
thank you so much, i’m glad you enjoy the videos! 🫶🏻
(Start reviewing your games, it helps a ton - especially if you review them together with your BF, I reckon)
awww thanks, that encouragement really means a lot right now! ✨
"The old me would have run in blind" -watches her walk straight into the bush by drake and ward it without throwing e first to give vision. .... what exactly do you call that :P
okay yeah … got me there 🥺
Great follow up video! GLHF :)
thank you so much, i'm glad you're enjoying the series! ✨
How bad can it be?
*Went into the ranked trenches*
*FAFO*
Holy shit you weren't kidding!
I will try to contribute some of the main things that have helped me to continue playing, improving and most importantly enjoying the game after all these years:
- never fall into the mindset of the game being rigged against you, or that your teammates are the reason you can't climb. yes, there are issues with MMR and rank system but at the end of the day, you are responsible for your rank.
- play only 1 or 2 champions to focus on mastering them (me personally I only play Lux support because I really enjoy it. she is basically the entire game for me - and yes, she is viable all the way up to Challenger!)
- keep watching RUclips guides like SkillCapped, but never trust any one source of advice/coach/guide or streamer exclusively.
Good luck 🙂👍
thank you so much for the detailed advice, this is super helpful! 😍
It would be cool to see u try all the different lanes, and how u find it compares as a beginner.
and maybe a couple full games.
And trying aram, where ur forced to play new champions. Both would help u learn the game better
Have a good time! I hope you continue to have and enjoy games like "game 34".
Your videos feels like movies! great job!
awww thank you so much, that means a lot! 🫶🏻
So this video gave me a chuckle
(also your partner has the patience of a saint)
hfgl
awww thank you, i'm glad it made you chuckle!! 🫶🏻
I know your doing your best you can do it it might be hard but it gets to a point that its fun and you'll make less mistake later on
it is already real fun tbh!!!
I'm waiting for the continuation of this journey :D
stay tunnneeedd - these videos take some time to make as a one woman show :D
If the goal is to learn, playing ranked is better than playing normal games as players against you will try punishing every mistake they see. Get punished, identify your mistakes you’ll get better, play for improvement regardless the lp gains and loss.
Referred here from the BBC podcast. Thought I'd share some tips to make life easier if you want to keep going:
Looking forward to seeing who your main is!
@divineazir oh i’ve never played azir!! not even against him..
yessir, part 3 coming soon!!
I just started in January and oh man is it rough. I placed in bronze 3 and dropped to bronze 4. But I'm having fun. I think.
8:22 67!
I sent your last video to the Broken By Concept podcast and they responded that they might do a segment on it in an upcoming episode! ❤
omg thank youuuu! 😍

here it is
I still believe that the restrictions to get into ranked are too low.
Been playing since 2013, the game is now my job and I can't ever get enough of it. The toxic part is easy to forget when everything else is so good. The game made me a better person outside of League as well, taught me how to deal with people too!
suuuuch fitting words omg!!!
Heh...this takes me back to when all of LoL started 😀 Transitioned from DOtA (the original one) so I had basic knowledge of mechanics but it was the same for me. Just hang in there....support is blamed for almost everything (also my starting role 🙂 now top/mid)
If I run into you in game, promise to be kind (personally do not play so much anymore as real life and family takes priority)
There is a chat setting that is called party only that removes the chat so you don't have to manually mute it. This setting is fantastic I highly recommend it and so does every serious league coach or high level player. Pings is more than enough to communicate. And if someone is toxic via pings, just instantly mute them via the tab menu! League has so much to think about and pay attention to that you don't have any mind to spare on text chat or spam pings.
i searched for “mute chat” yesterday in the settings and couldn’t find it.. thank you for that tip, i’m gonna do that!
Im currently learning and climbing but im not a new player, i went from iron 2 and am currently bronze 1. It takes a lot of effort to get better, having the idea of learning instead of my lp has helped ^^
so true, focusing on learning makes the grind so much better! ✨
I'm a dota player and from time to time when I want to have ez games I go to league.
Just got back to league first week of Feb, it gave me bronze II, I'm emerald now.
This game is so ez lmao.
