I can answer that instruments are hard to make only Cliff was inspired by classical music and did instrumentals once he died the band only did instrumental for cliff and suicide and redemption was out of luck when they were bored hell most of the instrumentals aside from suicide and redemption is mostly made by cliff or have a part where cliff worked on it
@@aaroncook2981 No arguments here. If the song was shorter, it might have been good, but... yeah. I always skip it when I'm listening to Death Magnetic. I was simply pointing out that just cause Cliff is gone, doesn't mean they cannot produce instrumentals anymore.

There isn't. And it pisses me off. There is also no ballad. That also pisses me off lol. Fade to Black, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), One, The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters are all great. They write some kick ass ballads. I hope there's at least a couple clean guitar parts on the new album.
when the to live is to die interlude starts and that beautiful harmony kicks in i get goosebumps every time. truly a masterpiece. all of these songs are \m/
My Friend of Misery was originally going to be the instrumental track on Black Album but they reworked it into an awesome song with lyrics instead. Jason plays the original version in Mexico City and other live shows.
spaceace5621 Educationally stimulating indeed!!! =) Shit every time you guys comment on this I just cant click this video away, simply cant resist listening to this! Damnit Im supposed to sleep!
simplethunder Its a bit messed up that it puts me to sleep O.oIts that good of a song. I almost dont hear metallica playing it but then again, I still do hear the metallica in it.
+Pim Vd Steeg Perhaps because Call of Ktulu is more clearly themed than Orion. I don't quite get the story Orion is trying to tell, if that makes sense.
Serge Hamelberg Me neither, but I find Orion more complete when it comes to songwriting, especially with the slower part in the middle, where metallica show that they can create some wonderful music, next to their shredding and thrashy sound. Ktulu has more or less the same rhythm, with a buildup throughout the whole song, which works great by itself but is not as complete as Orion imo. Nevertheless both songs are amazing ;)
The nostalgia 😢. I miss my youth. I miss the freshness of this all. I'm fortunate I still have these roots. As shity as life has became , at least I have what is mine to recall and love. But sometimes it's just so far away.. fuck

Pulling teeth is my favorite. i miss good old metallica, they really knew how to rock in the 80`s. thanks for the video, it is awesome. Edit: you forgot ecstasy of gold (or maybe it doesn`t count as instrumental because James sings yeah, yeah about 3 times).
I know it's beating a dead horse but man do I miss that Metallica vibe they ruled with in the early 90s... I was bored today and started playing Metallica on guitar and decided to just listen to their instrumentals. And they was so strong and thought through. Then at the end of this is one I've never heard and even it is so far from the old style.. I'm great full for the time I had though. They had such a bad ass and strong grasp of music. If S&R was released on an earlier album, no one would say anything bad about it at all. You just say it's bad because it's new. Sure, it's not their best work, but it's still a hell of a song
+Hammer of Justice Crushes You OVERPOWER Completely agree.
