    Bass solo, take one.
    When a man lies he murders
    Some part of the world
    These are the pale deaths which
    Men miscall their lives
    All this I cannot bear

      I can answer that instruments are hard to make only Cliff was inspired by classical music and did instrumentals once he died the band only did instrumental for cliff and suicide and redemption was out of luck when they were bored hell most of the instrumentals aside from suicide and redemption is mostly made by cliff or have a part where cliff worked on it

    • @psteeg3551
      @psteeg3551 9 лет назад +6

      Serge Hamelberg Me neither, but I find Orion more complete when it comes to songwriting, especially with the slower part in the middle, where metallica show that they can create some wonderful music, next to their shredding and thrashy sound. Ktulu has more or less the same rhythm, with a buildup throughout the whole song, which works great by itself but is not as complete as Orion imo. Nevertheless both songs are amazing ;)

      +Angel Vasquez Funny thing I noticed about that too. My friends are like that. Even weirder, the ones like Myself who like Call of Ktulu are now more into Power, Progressive, Neo Classical Metal (Iron Maiden, Orden Ogan , Symphony X and Kamelot for example) while My other friends who like Orion are more fans of Thrash/Death metal. (Slayer, Kreator, Anthrax) except for Bolt Thrower everyone loves Bolt Thrower.

    I was very fortunate to be in junior and high school during Metallica's Kill Em All, Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets. Some people would ask me, how do you listen to that shit, then One came out and then Enter Sandman. All of a sudden Metallica rocks and went and bought all the past albums. When I listen to The Call of KTUL, I can hear Dave Mustaine presence because part it does kind of have that Megadeth sound. Good stuff!

    I don't know, within the last years they have become less significant (metallica's music reflected in this instrumentals)...And I'm talking about the last one, is good, but the others before had a meaning, and you can feel it. Suicide and redemption is good, but something is missing in that song, like some sort of aura, a soul... It can be the comercial purpose in the last albums over the self construction of the band meaning in the beginnings, I don't know, but that's what I feel. Interesting the self discovering of a band and their transformation trough the years, and metallica is in "like a middle life crisis", old but trying to remain young and trashy. The only difference is that now they have more money in their wallets and less hunger in their guts, not like in the beginnings.

    you must add My Friend Of Misery, because that supposed for Black Album instrumental, but the producer forced them to add lyrics for more comercialy

    For some reason when ever I hear Orion I picture Beethoven conducting it and a Victorian audience in utter elation and pandemonium. With To Live is to Die I think of Valhalla. Pulling teeth makes me think of a grunge bar band warming up to blow the doors of the place. The Call of Kaulthu is like a lucid dream, almost mesmerizing but with a hint of impending doom . The last song makes me think of a no holds barge dirt bike race. Like the video game Twisted Metal on a race track.

    Amazing how they only attempted to make one more instrumental song after Cliff died (Suicide and Redemption). Suppose they felt they didn't have the same touch they did for the first four that Cliff helped write.

      Wolf Marshall I got that much from your message. I was asking what is the second one you are referring to. If its To Live is To Die, I wasn't counting that one since Cliff had influence over that song.

    It sounds like Cliff was the main influence for the instrumental tracks. Even though To Live is To Die was made with Jason, Cliff drafted the song, y'all can look up Cliff's last song.
    Then they haven't done a single instrumental til Death Magnetic.
