Going to the Sun Road, Glacier National Park

The Going To The Sun Road at Glacier National Park takes you from St Mary’s on the East side all the way to Apgar Village on the West side. When you stay on the East side of Glacier you do not need any passes to access the Going to the Sun Road. If you enter from the more crowded West side of Glacier, during season you will need a day pass to access the road. Passes are $2 on Recreation.gov.
We want to Thank Kevin for driving each time we ventured into the park. The roadway from the East to Loagan Pass is pretty wide and easily navigated. When entering from the West up to Logan Pass, the roadway is pretty narrow with twists, turns, cliffs up on one side and steep cliffs downwards on the other side. We actually pulled in the side mirrors on Kevins truck for fear of not fitting by other vehicles. Take note if you have a dually, you will have a white knuckle drive.
Stops along the way are amazing, we took advantage of one pull of and spent the afternoon hanging out by the river’s edge. Amazing clear freezing cold water felt great to cool off in.
More great memories made with Jackie and Kevin, so happy we were able to spend those two weeks together.
