    I did basically the same trip with my cousin nearly 30 years ago! We always reminisce about that trip! We need to do it again before we pass! Thank you for sharing your adventure!

    Greetings from Australia! Some wonderful footage there that looked familiar at times. I did the same wonderful journey back in about 1981- but I started in SanFran and headed north. Little did I know that prevailing winds were largely coming from the north - woops! I met two other guys - a trainee Dr, and a 70 yr old Kiwi doing the same - and we cycled together for a time. All of the camp sites in Nat. parks hiker/biker spots were outstanding! Made it to Seattle - where I became one of the Buckys bicycle courier riders - and then later made it up to Vancouver, and was an IPX courier rider. Great memories and met some wonderful people!! callsign - "Cobber"

    Such a great video. I was thinking of doing this same thing. The scenery was amazing.
    A few questions, if you don't mind.
    How long did it take?
    How much did it cost?
    What was your biggest obstacle/challenge?

      Hi James. Thank you for your comment. We have collected a little more infos on our webpage: www.on-the-way.ch/auszeiten/bike-weltreise/usa/. Biggest obstacles is hard to say, there where quite a few climbs but just take it easy and dont do too many miles a day. Our average cost per day was 20$ per person that included sleeping & food (we cooked ourself) as well as some little shopping and sightseeing. Enjoy the ride if you do it, the landscape is just great.

    great vid...thanks for sharing...Ill hopefully be doing this as part of my round the world cycle (mexico to canada) how was it with traffic any issues etc? accommodation, camp sites easy to find?

    • @onthewaycorrymike
      @onthewaycorrymike  Год назад +1

      Hi there. Thank you for your comment. That will be a strech to look forward to on your journey. Traffic is not to bad, most of the time you have a good shoulder section to ride. We only had one issue were a RV Trailer almost hit us while driving a narrow bend.....! Campsides along the coast are just awesome. There are special Hike/Bike Campsites from the Stateparks which are cheap and great. Just google bike/hike Sites and you will probably find a map with the locations.

    Fährt man da sie ganze Zeit auf öffentlichen Strassen oder was geht da ab?

    • @onthewaycorrymike
      @onthewaycorrymike  7 месяцев назад

      ja so ziemlich, ab und zu gibt es ganz kurz spezielle Radwege, aber grundsätzlich hat man mehr als genug Platz auf den normalen Strasse auf dem Pannenstreifen auf der Seite.

    It would be interesting to take a pole, how many people like music on a video like this. I hate it. I would rather hear how many miles a day, How heavy your gear was, what did you like, what did you not like.
