I'm an experienced kayaker, if you fall over and the (brand) or style of kayak you are using doesn't have a sealed chamber, it will sink. he should have had a life preserver on, and he should have had some floaties attached to his kayak. I've had both the sealed chamber kayaks and the type that are pretty much hollow. I'll never use the hollow one again, its a death trap. Wear the vests, attach a floatation device to the kayak with a cord and avoid the hollow kayaks. If you do have a hollow one, insert inflatable rubber balls, or devices to add bouncy if it tips and fills with water.

Pulling the drain plug can absolutely fill the kayak with water causing it to flip. Especially an undersized kayak as mentioned for the conditions. I have had an undersized kayak do exactly that I’m calm conditions in San Diego Mission Bay. Luckily the water is not as cold and no current like the Hudson River.

Then they proved that even with the plug missing there was no way that the kayak could fill with water ..so that did not happen. No she didn't him either. They have since found the body and it has been said he did drown and he was found only a mile away
Couple things. Disconnecting a paddle gives you two paddles. Not having the plug in won't sink a kayak Definately. There's no reason to have a life insurance policy 5 months into a relationship. Any woman with a cat is suspect as well more so a man. Navy Seals swim in the pacific ocean in the winter and don't die. The guy wasn't in good shape.....or very smart. The aggregate of 4 divorces at such a young age with the life insurance policy is a 100 percent chance of having a forensics file episode.

Ian Jones...There was not any 12 hour interrogation and she was in the tandem kayak with him, no alcohol involved, great swimmer, the water temps were warm and the water was calm.
