    Analysis of distorted model is more difficult than undistorted model
    Is it true?

    The measured hydraulic data of a river is given below:
    In low season: In high season:
    Discharge=10 m3/s Discharge=50 m3/s
    Flow depth=2 m Flow depth=4 m
    Flow velocity=1.5 m/s Flow velocity=3 m/s
    Free surface width=2.5 m Free surface width=5 m
    Small scale hydraulic model of this river will be made in a laboratory. The laboratory is 10m high, 100m long and 25 m width.
    The model is to be constructed from non-cohesive immobile sands in the available range of 6mm - 14 mm.
    Question:
    A distorted model of this river is going to be constructed in the laboratory. Determine;
    a) Scale number of horizontal lengths
    b) Scale number of vertical lengths
    c) Distortion factor.
    Hint: You are free for making some assumptions if necessary. If a Figure is used from the lecture notes, the Figure number has to be referred in the solution.
    can you help me out with solving this question ?
