    Understanding comes with obedience and total submission. “If any man will do His Will, he shall know of the doctrine (John 7:17a). This young man doesn’t understand by his own intellect, but God has His hand in his devotion to Him. This is an unusual and excellent sight. Most young men today are extremely weak in the area of scriptural surrender. God bless my brother make disciples. Amen

    I must confess, lately I've been wanting to experience the world, because I grew up in a Christian home I didnt really like the things of the world. But my faith has always been rocky, maybe it is/was not laid on a strong foundation. I am afraid of human condemnation, they mock me, because I'm a born again Christian, our church (i.e speaking in tounges) the shame was heavy, it feels like persecution. I wanted to fit in. I wanted to not be persecuted, to feel normal, to not be afraid to say the truth about God's word, what is right and wrong. I am ashamed to even share the gospel, or for example, telling a friend that sex before marriage is wrong and that they should repent.. Because I am afraid to be seen as crazy. My friend did not give up, they still condemn her, even I, now started to believe the lies of the enemy, maybe it is too much, maybe I should only focus on my own salvation, but what will I say when God asks for an account of my life? Will I not be more ashamed? I don't pray much anymore, because I am not comfortable in the house I live now (because of school), I am losing interest in going to church. I hate them for mocking and shaming me, I wish I could live alone again, I used to pray and fast so much, meditate on God's word . This season is very painful for me, because I love God so much and sometimes I cry because of how our relationship is now.

      These trials are to be expected, because most of the world is not like us or understands us. Being a born again Christian is a very rare and not easy, and a big responsibility to help others by spreading the Truth. However, it is a true honor to be with God, now and for eternity. Please continue to pray as best you can, even in your own room (you mentioned the home you live in now, what do you mean by it being difficult to pray there?), continue to do your best to meditate on God's word as well, and fast as you mentioned. Even from videos like this where he goes through the word, they are very helpful in times where I may not feel like reading the bible, so I end up reading more, etc. Know that God is with you and these trials will only make you stronger in Him. If you need someone to talk to, you can always reach out to me :) God bless!

      The Holy Spirit does all of the work in us - our work, our effort, is filthy rags. Focus on Jesus not yourself. We are required to focus steadfastly on Jesus allowing the Holy Spirit to work within us. When we accept Grace we will get a balance in knowing when to help, when to rest, how to respond. This takes hours and hours of practice - don't be in such a hurry to prove yourself. Learn to have a relationship with Jesus under this marvelous gift of Grace. 🙏

      You cannot save yourself if you know the Lord Jesus Christ you're already saved I guess what you mean is worrying about your own walk maybe? It sounds like you're and I'm not trying to be hateful to you but it sounds like you're pretty self-righteous just know that if you're guilty of breaking one law you're guilty of all of it you cannot save yourself the Bible is clear you are saved by grace through faith that not of Works lest any man May boast you can't say you earned your way to heaven your walk is not going to Grant you salvation religion and self-righteousness and different denominations that twist up and read the Bible and then say to you that it don't really mean that it means something else when you know the Lord you just change you know the Lord when his holy spirit lives in you the moment you believe in him is when you receive the spirit people don't have to lay hands on you you can point in the Bible where it says this or that but if you don't keep reading the Bible you're not going to understand why that's being said right there who it's being said to why it's being said the world has nothing for you this comment won't let me say anything too long put your focus on Jesus don't worry about what someone else thinks they're not going to be there on Judgment Day we'll all be judged for our works that's our thoughts and our Deeds Believers and non-believers there's more to worry about besides hell if you know Jesus Christ he's not going to tell you he doesn't know you on Judgment Day it sounds like you've had somebody teaching you some pretty crazy theology I grew up around a Pentecostal Church too and when I actually read the Bible for myself I learned that what I was being told was not correct you'll notice they'll love to read something and tell you it doesn't really mean that that it means something else you know that love to ignore the part where it says it's not of Works lest any man-made boast and they'll say well it says over here that face without works is dead and then you ask them well how come 1st Corinthians 5:5 says what it does? How come the entirety of the New Testament past John says what it does? First of all you need to make sure you have your full faith in Jesus Christ and make sure that you know him don't do something if you know it's wrong and if you do get caught up in doing something remember that that act of disobedience is not going to send you to hell but that does not mean you're supposed to continue doing worse and worse you should get away from it as soon as you possibly can and you're not missing anything whatsoever in the world

    • @Glory_inthe_3rd77
      @Glory_inthe_3rd77 2 года назад

      I tried to say a lot to tell you because I actually care when somebody says something and a lot of people are going to want to give you nothing but a religious response and it's going to be always self-righteous that yes you're steady earning your salvation keep it up you're way better than your friends all of them are worthless Sinners headed straight for hell and your friends may know the Lord Jesus Christ more than you do and you not even know it you know them and what's going on so act accordingly you know enough because God has written his law on your heart you are not under the law but he's renting his loan your heart meaning that you know right from wrong you know if you're not supposed to go sleep with somebody you know you're not supposed to go get drunk and do stupid stuff you can just look at the world and see what's going to happen anything you do is going to end and regret you're going to feel condemned you're going to feel sad if you don't know the Lord you're not going to enjoy sin very long 1st Corinthians 5:5 go read that whole book I would encourage you just read the Bible in context because what happens is the nominations and different theologies pop up because people will read something in one part of the Bible and completely ignore that something changes as you keep reading they'll ignore what it says in the back part of the Bible and only pay attention to the middle in the front read it in context Jesus died on a cross for your sins you cannot save yourself you're not saved by a mixture of something you do and him Christians and non-christians are both going to be judged does that mean that both of us are going to go to hell? No the Bible will tell you what you need to know but you need to read it literally in context not Through The Eyes of some theology if you do that you'll be just like me and you'll see stuff that you cannot believe you might have used to believe it will surprise you cuz a lot of times you will believe what a pastor or teacher says over what you see right in front of you in the Bible just know that God's not a god of confusion and the Bibles literal and clear if it's not a parable it's not a parable you don't have to read between the lines go read and see what Jesus Christ did for you I would encourage you to start in John and just keep reading through you should read the entire Bible but starting John so you can see how Jesus was see what he did and then start seeing what he started saying to Gentiles which are us Jews and Gentiles are saved the same way but when Jesus Christ went to the cross he didn't do a small thing he didn't make it where now you can be super obedient if anybody be honest with themselves they know full well that they better be thanking Jesus Christ for what he did on the cross for by Grace you are saved through faith in Jesus Christ that not of your words lest any man May boast.... faith without works is dead as well but the thief on the cross went to heaven what was his great work? Remember Works means your thoughts and actions also 1 Corinthians 5:5 no sin is okay but you know better than to go out in the world and get cozy with it I promise you it will end bad for you God will allow things to happen to you I hope you know that you have more to worry about besides hell dear God also love God I promise you you are not missing anything there's no reason to get worse but no matter what you do make sure you don't turn away from Jesus because you feel like you have lost everything and try to believe that there is no God or any of that garbage because I'm telling you the world can take you down through there and it has nothing truly to offer you that doesn't fade away and end in misery

  • @mrupholsteryman

    When I read this....the place where Jesus prayed, not My will, buy Yours be done. He didn't LOVE the creation more than the Father. He was not guilty of idolatry prior to the death on the cross. He DID suffer the punishment of OUR idolatry while on the cross and was the satisfactory sacrifice for all sins to be forgiven as He was perfect and without sin.
    I think too often in our churches we have bypassed the uncomfortable talk of sin and to be born again and that exclusivity to the Gospel that Jesus said....No other way into the Kingdom, but for man to be born again....and we go straight to the adoption with purpose model and no weapon formed against me can harm me mantra.....
    I believe this is dangerous theology cuz sanctification is rendered null and void, and you can get plugged in to a church that may have lots of programs to keep you busy and active in your new found purpose to potentially even get to the point where you're telling Jesus all the things you did, and He says, "I never knew you. And called them workers of iniquity." Probably very similar sentiment to calling Peter satan.... I don't like that some churches will say that the foundation was on Peter... cuz in that case, no wonder the churches are such a mess...cuz Peter is NOT the Solid Rock...Jesus is. I believe it was the revealed confession of faith that the church is built on.... You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
    I know I can jump from thing to thing in the Bible..so I can kinda identify with how sometimes flippant Peter could have been....with his bipolar faith disorder. Even after being brought back into the fold .... he still needed some correction.... "What concern of it is yours how he serves Me?" (this was after Jesus death and resurrection when some of the other disciples were there.)
    Amazing how patient God is with us! And yet doesn't just let us go on like He isn't concerned about us at all....(like sparing the rod is hating the child) God disciplines those He loves...

    • @mrupholsteryman
      @mrupholsteryman 2 года назад

      @Things often lost in translation I believe that Jesus works with us and ALWAYS knows where we are...and we are never hiding from Him the intents of our hearts. Even the man who's son was possessed by a demon (when the disciples couldn't cast it out) came to Jesus (along with the disciples) and asked questions. The man said in reply to Jesus when asked if he believed...the father said yes. Help me with my unbelief. We aren't saved by our mental ascent...but Scriptures also say..My people perish due to lack of understanding. Sounds like a contradiction....but it truly is knowing Him...AND Him knowing us.
      A real relationship takes both sides and we are the weaker side...and unless we are born again...that relationship will not be functional...
      Scary verse for some who may like to not hear anything contrary to their teachings...is that God doesn't hear a sinners prayers...but He knows when someone has hit their rock bottom (as like the prodigal son) and will definitely hold up His end of the Gospel and rescue the sinner. And His Hand is strong enough to never let go of any that are handed to Him by the Father...
      Yet there are still warning to the disciples by Him afterward to not be deceived by others that are pretending.
      I don't doubt that Jesus is strong enough...but I do have some doubts in the heart that can be deceived AND deceitful as the old nature still wars with the new nature Jesus gives us...
      We are in a time of sifting it seems...as every day we are to die to the old nature and pick up our cross...
      Being a Christ Jesus follower is impossible in the flesh. That is why we need to let the Spirit of Truth and Love rule and reign in the vessel that is paid for in blood (and fully)
      😇💪🙏

    2 Corinthians 13:5
    5 Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

    • @Glory_inthe_3rd77
      @Glory_inthe_3rd77 2 года назад

      1 Corinthians 5:5 is a clear example that would help people that have made themselves believe that I am saved by my obedience and if I'm not obedient to a particular point and really really mean it enough that even if I have my complete hope belief and faith in Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross to save me that I will still go to hell because that's how people get mixed up here's what it says 1 Corinthians 5:5 to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. You know the Bible says a lot people seem to miss the important thing which is to read it in context if somebody reads nothing but the Old Testament they may never even know Jesus Jesus had not went to the Cross yet they may think that they're still supposed to sacrifice sheep but you have to continue reading the Bible context is the most important thing when it comes to reading the Bible context what is it saying who is it saying it to what does it mean I'm not disagreeing with you by any means I just know that when people see things they might think that okay well I'm not saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ that not of my work I may actually have something to boast of! So that means I go to heaven because I'm a really good obedient Christian and I believe in Jesus that's how a lot of theologies get made up and then they take parts of the Bible and twist it up and say see it says it clear right here but they don't read later where God says something completely different because something else has taken place when Jesus died on the cross that made it where you are saved by grace through faith before that if you didn't do a particular thing you would have to sacrifice the Sheep and I can't tell you exactly what would have happened to you whether you went to hell or not if you didn't do good enough you understand? The Bible is clear not that it's clear in one verse it's clear the Bible front to back is clear amen

    • @Glory_inthe_3rd77
      @Glory_inthe_3rd77 2 года назад +1

      Everyone fails the test Jesus is the only one that has ever lived a sinless life and he will forever be able to say that while he lived on this Earth that he was the only one that lived with zero sin whatsoever one sin was worth to God the entire Earth to be cursed so do not think that the little sins you might do are okay never forget you are saved because of what Jesus did on the cross you cannot boast about you passing a test therefore you get to go to heaven the Bible's clear on that amen? At the same time God tells you that you can die from living in sin like if a person decides to do certain things that can lead to death also in Jonah's case he didn't listen to the Lord look what happened to him but surely you don't believe that Jonah's in hell do you? I know I certainly don't Jonah was saved because as in the same way we are he did what God Said and what God says now is to believe in his son Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins that's why we are saved the Bible's very clear your Works do not save you even though people try their best sometimes to make it seem though that look if you don't live good enough for God you still go to hell no matter what you believe even if you know Jesus you still go to hell the thief on the cross went to heaven I don't see any great works that he did other than believing in Jesus changing his mind repenting and putting his faith in Jesus everything he had was on Jesus Christ now if God judged him based off of how he lived his life well he's dying on the cross for being a thief this man has lived a life where he has done wrong to people so much that he is now on a cross for it yet that man is with Jesus now also in 1st Corinthians 5:5 that brother right there ..man...but that entire church was being corrected when you teach somebody something you need to express to them how important it is But First Corinthians 5:5 is clear even though that man was sleeping with his dad's wife Paul did not say put him out of the church he's not saved that man is doomed he said put him out of the church hand him over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh meaning since he wants to act that way don't keep him coddled in that church put him out there with the world so they can do with him what happens with everyone else and he continues to correct them in case they start acting that way but keep in mind that when he was talking to them he was correcting them because what they were doing there was wrong therefore they needed to be corrected just like your parents when they correct you when they guide you you can point in all kinds of verses in the Bible and say what you want but when you read the thing in context it's history it shows you what was said so any point you come to where you need some clarification it's there you just have to decide whether you're going to accept it or not again I'm not trying to argue with you cuz what you say yes that that's true but the test is not a test that if you fail you go to hell you are not saved by your Works which are your thoughts and your actions the Bible makes that clear but if you know the Lord and you keep living you're going to change Therefore your faith will be seen from your works because the Bible says faith without works is dead nobody is sinless brother so if it was a test on are you sinless? Everyone would fail to meet the test not just before they knew the Lord but as well as after where is your heart? God who sees the heart who knows the heart knows that whether a man or a woman is struggling with something more than another person he knows what's going on you judge to keep yourself away from something that might snare you up but you do not decide who goes to heaven and hell I would encourage anybody to read the Bible in context and believe it literally for what it says when it is written literally if it's a parable it's a parable if it's not it's not

      I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
      2 Tim. 4:1‭-‬5 ESV
      Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
      2 Pet. 3:14‭-‬18 ESV

    Our Lord said, "Amen, Amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send, receives Me and whoever receives Me receives the One who sent Me (John 13:20; Matt 10:40) and "Whoever listens to you listens to Me. Whoever rejects you rejects Me and rejects the One who sent Me (Luke 10:16)". Therefore, in order for us to receive and listen to Christ Our Savior, we need to receive and listen to the one Our Lord sent and not anyone else. Who are the ones Our Lord sent to us for our salvation? They are the Apostles and their successors, the ministers of His Church built on Peter (Matt 16:18-19, 28:19-20).

    Through the teachings of these ministers, the dispenser of the mysteries of God (1 Cor 3:5, 4:1), we learn the True Faith revealed by Our Lord and become true believers and members of His Mystical Body (Col 1:18, 1 Cor 12:27, Eph 5:23), the Church. St. Paul said, "Remember your prelates who have spoken the word of God to you; whose Faith follow. Jesus Christ, yesterday, today, and the same forever; and, not be lead away with various and strange doctrines (Heb 13:7-9). Obey your prelates and be subject to them; for they watch as being to render account of your souls (Heb 13:17)."

    Our Lord made it clear that, in order for us to be saved, we must follow the teachings of His Church (Mark 16:16), One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church with whom He and Holy Spirit remain always until the end of ages (John 14:16-17, Matt 28:20). Whoever, Our Lord did not send or who reject the teachings of His Church, are wolves in sheep's clothing and, therefore, shouldn't be listened to and must be avoided. He that knows God, hears us. He that is not of God, hears us not. By this we know the spirit of Truth and the spirit of error (1 John 4:6).

    I Corinthians 15:1-4
    *** Keep in mind, Peter had been preaching the gospel of the kingdom since Matthew 10:5-8.
    *** Please see Luke 18:31-34.
    ***Keep in mind Jesus was preaching the gospel of the kingdom in Matthew 9:37.
    Now… Matthew 16 is the fist time Christ showed the decides that he must die, be buried and raised again.
    So, did the gospel of the kingdom include the cross work of Christ?

    Peter didn’t accept the need for Jesus to die because he didn’t yet appreciate the depth of his own sin and cost of reparation. He misses the concepts of conviction of sin, and repentance (very different to “self denial”). That’s why Jesus tells him not to preach yet.

    When I read this passage, there was something else I noticed. The position that Peter placed himself which I still see some Christians do is trying to be the one that saves Christianity. Jesus was on his way to save us and Peter thought he would be the won to save Jesus. Denying yourself can also mean that you have to deny your own motives to be your own savior, avoiding chastisement and trying to cleanse yourself. God knows best for our transformation and you will be put through the fire. There will be pains, there will be humiliation, and you will be hated. Just like how Jesus how took his cross. But as the bible says, God will turn you into gold. His way is not our way. He weighs the heart not our behavior. God will ask you of things that will make us uncomfortable. Just like Moses going to Egypt to speak and free his people. He didn't like the idea because he had trouble speaking. But God rebuked him and reminded him of his power and will send his brother to help him. In the end we are called to trust in God. Trust in his ways even if it goes against your ideals. God has a path for you, trust in him and you will come out like gold.

    Peter did not understand that Christ came to redeem mankind not to overthrow Rome. I understand why Peter responded as he did, he wanted the corruption to end, the suffering to end, which is natural. Peter couldn't see the big picture. Had Satan realized what Christ was doing he never would have had Christ killed.

    It was hindrance by Satan through Peter to stop Jesus from dying the death of the cross, because Satan knew the great importance behind this sacrifice and he would not be in control of death anymore.
    Satan tried this multiple times to stop this death from happening.

    Jesus left an example for us somebody can point out any kind of verse in the Bible and say see what it says but if you read the next book or two books down you start understanding that a whole lot better LOL as long as nobody says that you are saved for any other reason whatsoever than Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross and full complete hope faith and trust absolutely everything on him everything on him I won't say anything against it but the world and self-righteousness always wants to point to themselves to give themselves some kind of Glory even if they say that they're not trying to give themselves Glory that's false humility they really want to give themselves massive praise because you know it's not just Jesus saving me right? It's my massive obedience and that other guy or girl that isn't being obedient enough they're going to hell no matter what they believe no read that Bible in context not through theology it means what it says if you read it in Genesis and stop there ain't no telling what you would think that somebody supposed to do to be right with God you would think maybe you're not supposed to eat a certain fruit off of a tree or something so just read it in context I would encourage anybody to read the whole Bible of course but start maybe John to where Jesus is getting ready to give his life for us we should read in there about the thief on the cross that had nothing to offer Jesus that had just laughed at Jesus and completely changed his mind on that cross and put his full faith in Jesus Christ see what it said about him and after Jesus made the sacrifice for us see what it continues to say and just read it like it reads in context study it and you'll be like wow but if you just read some verses and say that they don't actually mean what they say you're going to get mixed up if it's not a parable it's not a parable

    • @BloodCovenant
      @BloodCovenant 2 года назад +1

      I would say that the overreaching message of worldliness in the NT has its foundation in covetousness, pride, and lust. John puts it this way Jn 2:16 For all that is in the world-the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not from the Father but from the world.. Jesus told parables and stories that illustrate this such as the barn builder, greedy Pharisees and more to give examples.

    This young teacher is a very bright man; but his understanding of these verses isn't correct. Well, you could say it makes good strides but never makes it to the cross.
    If you had "The things of God" in view then you would understand these passages that follow.
    The things of God are what Jesus came to do, and what Jesus came to give. In other words, this Christ, the Anointed Messiah, came as the Suffering Servant, Suffering Messiah.
    What Peter tried to keep from Jesus, Jesus said will be on to Peter, and all those who are His disciples.
    They will deny themselves and lose their lives...
    If you take ALL that Jesus said that His followers must do, including what He said to the rich young ruler, to give all you have away and take up your cross and follow Him, then you will understand how this is truly understood when one is rightly discerning "The things which be of God".
    Peter, who was rebuked here for being mindful of the things of man and not those things which be of God, was mindful of those things which be of God when the people on Pentecost asked "What shall we do?"
    Peter didn't say, "You must deny yourself, lose your life, take up your cross...
    Peter summed up all Jesus' teachings in the Gospels by saying, "Repent and be baptized and you shall receive the Spirit..."
    In baptism you die with Christ! That's where you deny yourself (Your righteousness) that's where you take up your cross and follow. That's where you lose your life and find a new life. The life of faith that trusts God's promise in Christ given through the word and by His gifts of baptism and the Lord's Supper.
    With this young man's teachings, you are ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the Truth.
    Jesus offered up for you is the wisdom of God; and we are united with Him in baptism, given His Spirit of Promise.
    Just compare the rich young ruler of the Gospels to the Ethiopian Eunuch in the book of Acts.
    The rich young ruler went away grieved because he couldn't do... The Ethiopian went away rejoicing because God has done the one thing needed unto him, in baptism.
    Keep learning, or partake of the Truth freely given?
    After having Christ by His sure and certain means the Christian has no need for any to teach them, they know ALL things. So all our learning is the learning of that which we already know. We know Jesus as Savior and Lord, "We would see Jesus!"
    But this young man isn't giving Christ; he's instead teaching, not Christ but, the Christian.

    🤔 mmm it took you Long time to find the answer 😊 why because you haven't have the holy spirit in you to guide you through the verse and give you clear understanding of what the meaning of the verse , you quote the verse in your own corrupt understanding you just blasphemy the holy bible . the Bible is not a Quran where you can add and take Off scripture and verse be very careful when preaching to the public Or community make sure that you have been ordain by bishop or Top pastors that been given green light to preach do the rightful things in God sight.. 👍🏼👍🏼🇭🇲🇭🇲🇭🇲🇭🇲

    Satan is the dragon imagination. There was war in heaven the dragon was cast out into the earth. The dragon brought the floods after the woman. The woman is the church. Jesus said it shall be as the days of Noah. Isaiah 54.9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth so I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee nor rebuke thee. Isaiah 11.9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in my holy mountain for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. God gathered the waters he called seas. Habakkuk 2.14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. These three bare witness in the earth blood water spirit these three are one. Jesus said I am the living waters. My words are spirit. Noah was a preacher of righteousness. The Bible says to present himself a glorious church by the washing of the water which is the word of God
